Other ProgramsThis is the other programs forum. This is for all you folks out there that use a program that doesn't have it's own stickie to do your coloring with. If you do not know what MS Paint is check out their Website((??)).
AAE: UGH! Un brand-name EWW!
HUSH YOU! That is exactly the kind of behavior that is NOT allowed in this sticky and that's not true at all. That brings me to my next point. The do and don't of the other programs forum.
The DOs DO post your tutorials, tutorials links, or request for tutorials for a program that doesn't have it's own stickie here. DO Post any questions you may have concerning a program that doesn't have it's own stickie here DO Post any POSITIVE comments you may have concerning a program that doesn't have it's own stickie here.
The DON'Ts DON'T Post tutorials, tutorial links, or requests for tutorials for any program OTHER then a program that doesn't have it's own stickie DON'T Post any questions for programs OTHER then a program that doesn't have it's own stickie DON'T Post ANY comments bashing a program that doesn't have it's own stickie or it's users or makers here DON'T Post ANY comments putting down other programs here. That means do NOT say "My program rules and PSP sucks!"

Teepet I use the GIMP version 2.0 (there are later versions... I just haven't upgraded) it's a pretty decent free program that can be downloaded at their website ( http://www.gimp.org/ ) so far as I know it does all the thing PS does, but it can be confusing so if anyone needs help I can attempt to help them XD
Tauria Black I actually use Open Canvas 1.1. I upgraded...then downgraded because 3.05 made me cry. It's fairly easy to use. I downloaded it here: http://www.frogbog.com/oekaki/Resources/oC11b68.zip
Mintaka http://www.corel.com/ Corel homepage. http://www.corel.com/painterix/home/index.html Painter IX Page
ChiAkarui I use OpenCanvas as well, but version 4.06. I downloaded it from the main webbie:
Tutorials
Mintaka http://kikkyou.ajora.net/halcyonic/index.html Halcyonic Tutorials ... which has one whole Tutorial at the moment and needs a massive redesign. And update, as I changed my art site name back... and THAT in and of itself... is badly out of date and broken. D: http://kikkyou.ajora.net/halcyonic/tut01/basic01.html <--Min's how to color in Painter, version 1.

I use Painter 7, and seeing as I don't see a Painter thread [yet?] I'll have to drop in here. I've been meaning to work on some more Painter tutorials, but I have an old [and in bad need of a new example] tutorial, if poeple would like a link to it.
I only say I need a new image as the orignal piece has some serious lineart flaws. xd There's a reason I'm a colorist and favor being a colorist. wink
But fi anyone needs a hand on Painter 7 I can help. I also know a bit about the older Painter Classic [Painter v. 6 equiv, as I used that before I got Painter 7] ... and no one ask me about Photoshop. ;_; It makes me cry. I lost my talent with it ages ago. I prefer to combine Painter & Photoshop when I require certain PS specific stuff.
I will not claim, however, to being a Painter god but I have my own way of functioning in it.

If so I would love to put it up ^^ Also we would LOVE to see your tutorial, even if it's in a different program then it still mya help some of us, and it will really help those who use painter ^^ heart heart

Painter is... made by Corel. *shuffles about the internet* http://www.corel.com/ Corel homepage. http://www.corel.com/painterix/home/index.html Painter IX Page If I had the money, I would likely go for Painter IX [9] but... well, I don't. xd Plus I like 7 as it is. surprised Painter Classic has been for some time included with Wacom tablet bundles. Don't know what's up with that right now, but I know older tablets [my original Graphire and my current Intuos2 I've had for 2 years] had it bundled. No idea if they have a page for the classic version, which is a lite version of Painter, really. And... if it's working... *digs around* http://kikkyou.ajora.net/halcyonic/index.html Halcyonic Tutorials ... which has one whole Tutorial at the moment and needs a massive redesign. And update, as I changed my art site name back... and THAT in and of itself... is badly out of date and broken. D: http://kikkyou.ajora.net/halcyonic/tut01/basic01.html <--Min's how to color in Painter, version 1. I need to add in some fo my coloring tricks I use now. Probably make a new one with those. Like how I can manage to make rainbowness with good shadows. xd
