Alright so there used to be a really big, and awesome Australian Political Quiz on a website called Ozpolitics.com. Or something like that, but anyway, it's down and unavailable now. Well since there are no decent quizzes left for the Australian context, I thought I would add to the terrible ones by making a quiz on a website I found. Australian Political QuizTell me what you got, and what you thought. I need to see if it needs tinkering so if your results don't reflect what you are, let me know. For the record, my result was the Liberal party, Nats not far behind, and then a semi-distant third from the ALP probably thanks to my concurrence with their foreign policy ideas. Some questions are intentionally hard to choose between, because the policy differences are quite close between the two parties. I either used my own knowledge or the parties' website to pick out their policy. Also, they have a limit of six answers per question which made it significantly hard to fit a lot of things in, so forgive that last question, among others. The first two questions were compulsory, I couldn't remove them.

I got the ALP, which given my left-leaningness combined with that I am not a radical, is probably the closest I would be out of the current Australian parties(of course I disagree with the ALP on several issues though).
Then in descending order: The Greens, then Liberals, Nationals, and finally Family First.
And you really need to change how the answer about supporting family and community in last question is phrased. I almost clicked thinking it was relating to social justice. I only just realised that it would likely be an indicator of Family First.

Hmmn, maybe I should add a social justice type of option to that question. I can't really change the phrasing of the answer though, well I could, but I tried to follow what FF said in their website.

It was the: "Communities, and the quality of life of Australians" that almost got me. While that is no doubt what Family First view themselves as doing, it is a rather broadly defined answer that may catch out a lot of people, as that statement could apply to several political positions.

True, I take your point, but I don't think just saying 'families' is being fair totally to Family First. Although y'know, it's in their name. Bah.

It would have be something that indicated the kind of positions that couldn't be easily mistaken for something else. Although, I do concede that such a thing may be difficult to achieve in a sentence or two.

Your Result: Liberal Party
The Australian Liberal party is the party of Menzies, Fraser and John Howard. It represents a small government focus which manifests itself in a number of key policies, including; -Expansion of military and defence spending. -Reform and simplification of regulations. -Individual labour bargaining. -Tax cuts for business, upper and lower income earners. -Free Trade agreements across Asia, with major trade partners and with allies. -Strong immigration and border patrol systems.
Better than all the Pommie political tests I took where I kept getting NuLabour.
