She works her needlepoint long into the night, until her fingers are raw from pricking. The thimble has holes in it from over-use, but she hasn't thought to get a new one.. So many things in this old church need to be replaced. She spends her private time working in cross-stitches and embroidery patterns.
This one is of a woman praying at an altar. In the subtleties of the stitch, she has slightly deviated from the pattern. The eyes look slightly sallow, looking not into the face of the statue of God, but straight athead.
