-How to Role Play-

What is Role Playing?

Role playing is when you create a character and play as that character through a made up world.

How do I role play the professional way?

Okay here are the do's and don'ts of Role Play.

Do's:
1. Use proper grammar, and spelling. If you don't know how to spell something, think of another word that means the same thing that you do know how to spell, or write it like this: Love (Luv), so that they know how to pronounce it, and if you wish to know how to spell it, just ask and a staff member will tell you.
2. When speaking use " " these around your words, so that it looks like something from a book. "Yes mother I did wash the dishes" Kelly said smiling at her mother and fixing her slightly wet and ruffled skirt.
3. Try to think of it as a book, your the writer, its easy, and the best way to describe it.
4. Try not to give one word, responses. Such as: "Hey brother, have you tried out for football yet?" Kelly asked her brother Sam from across the table at dinner. "Yeah"
__________ This leaves no easy response to anyone else. So try something like this:
"Hey brother, have you tried out for football yet?" Kelly asked her brother Sam from across the table at dinner.
Sam shrugged and stuffed a bit of his food in his mouth before saying. "Yeah, it went pretty good, I think I might have a chance to get into the team this year."
This leaves much more to work with, allowing for a number of other responses. But because sometimes you will be forced for your character to either say one or two words, or nothing its a good thing to know how to do this:
"Hey brother, have you tried out for football yet?" Kelly asked her brother Sam from across the table at dinner.
"Yeah." Sam said smiling and stuffing his mouth full of food.
"So I guess it went well?" Kelly asked staring at her brother.
Sam couldn't respond with the food in his mouth so he just nodded in response.
"How well did it go?" Kelly asked trying not to jump up and down in anticipation.
Sam managed to swallow and said. "I think I might get into the team this year."

Another good way is to express by feelings, write about what your character is feeling, or thinking. Thats good for taking up space and making it more interesting.
There is however a point in which you can become to detailed in your description, so try to tell only the necessary stuff, and the stuff you feel you should say, don't just ramble on.
5. Always think about what your going to write.

Don'ts:
1. Use things like - - * * ` ` and all that to express what your character is doing or saying.
2. Write like this: I is walking and then I is hitting something just outta the blue.
No that is not hill billy talk, that is a sentence with no grammar at all.
3. Write in TXT talk, its going to throw some people off, and its not pretty to look at.
4. Play as another persons character. Its not just mean, its also a G-mod.
5. G-mod. *See what is G-moding?

What is my Characer/Avatar/Vertual me?

Its what or who you want to be in the world your Role Playing in.

How do I make a good Character?

1. Look up on the world your Role Playing in. You don't have to know everything, but it is good to know at least the basics of the world your character will be living in.
2. Another good key to making a good character is to think about them. Think about how you want them to act, think about how they will fit into the world they will live in, think long and hard.
3. Take time filling out the Skeleton that makes up your character. Almost all Role Plays have a profile Skeleton for you to fill out, the more there is to fill out the more you have to think, truly think about your characters personality, background, style, and all that. And fill it as full with information as you can.
4. Be creative.
5. Have fun. If you don't have fun with your created character, then, why are you Role Playing as that person? So don't make a character you don't like.

What is G-moding?

G-moding, or God moding, is an act of writing something out of context, out of the allowed area of the story's rules, and something impossible.
For a few examples.
Person 'a' is going to write something, and person 'b' is going to write the same thing, see if you can pick out the G-mod.

1
Person 'A':
___Sam was walking by the door to his sisters room when he hit a trap that had been set by his sister earlier that day, as his foot pulled the string it pulled a pot from the ceiling down on his head.
Person 'B':
___Sam was walking by the door to his sisters room when a fairy popped up in front of him and pulled the string to a trap that his sister had set earlier that day, sending a pot from the ceiling down on Sam's head.

2
Persons 'A&B':
[ A ]___Kelly set a trap for her brother early that day, hoping to hit him in the head with the pot she had set up on the ceiling.
[ B ]___Sam walked by his sisters room tripping the trap and causing the pot to slam into his head.
Persons 'C&D'
[ C ]___Kelly and her friend who was oddly dressed like a fairy where sitting in the dinning room, they wanted to set a trap for Kelly's brother Sam, one that would involve dropping a pot on his head. But they found that they had to much home work to do it.
[ D ]___Sam walked by his sisters room and tripped a trap dropping a pot on his head.

3
Person 'A&B'
[ A ]___Sam walked by his sisters room and yelled at her for setting a trap in front of her door.
[ B ]___Kelly started to cry because her brother was yelling at her as she sat in her room.
Persons 'C&D'
[ C ]___Kelly was in the dinning room with her friend doing her home work.
[ D ]___Sam yelled at his sister in her room for setting a trap in front of her door, to the point that it would make her cry as she usually did.

Answers: 1, the G-mod was in person 'B's answer, as there is no way a fairy could just magically appear.
Answers: 2, the G-mod was in persons 'C&D's answer, as the sister and friend did not set the trap it should not have been set off.
Answers: 3, the G-mod was in persons 'C&D's answer, as the sister was not in her room, and there for could not have been yelled at while in her room.

How do I make my post seam professional?

Well, there is no real way to make it look professional if its written write, as its already very professional... But a good way to make it fancy is to dress the post up.
How does one do this?
1. Get a picture, small enough to fit into the post and not stretch the page, of your character. It looks better to me, if the picture is real life looking, such as a good picture that is of someone, but any picture will do, its your choice.
2. I think its good to have things off to the side of your post, such as something like this to start off with:

яεd ąz †hε rφzε...

Post text here.

...ϐląck ąz †hε ηigh†

Make a poem or a quote, or something to go with it.
Also adding color or changing the size can help. The basick thing is to make it look how you want to, make it pretty, and have the post set for your characters personality.
Some other examples would be something like this:

Remember its all about making your post looking pretty, but its also about making it easy to find your characters picture and your writing.
So don't make something to flashy and long.
The post with the poem is one of the ones that are a little flashy, but its easy to find the text and its not to big, so its alright. Try to keep it modest though.
