Onbashira Festival

What is it?
Spring has arrived in Nippon; the cherry trees that are planted throughout the capital city of Maizoukin have erupted into blossom and the days have gained a pleasant warmth.
The Onbashira festival is held every year in Maizoukin to celebrate the arrival of spring. Humans gather here for the festival, coming from the smaller villages and towns scattered near the capital, and some from even as far as the northern and southern tips. many priests from Shikoku have also arrived in the city, summoned by the emperor to ensure that the gods will favour him throughout the season. Kuniku also have reason to gather here; the festival is a great opportunity to have some fun, catch up with old friends, and meet new ones.
All through the day and night the streets are littered with stalls selling snacks and toys such as pinwheels. At around midday the woodcutters of the city, often accompanied by Kuniku and curious onlookers, travel to the hills bordering Maizoukin and work to fell the giant fir trees that grow there. By the time they have been cut and arranged into rows most of the city has joined them and set themselves up to view the spectacle. Kuniku traditionally stand on the fir trees, which are then rolled down the hill while they struggle to balance! Kuniku that make it to the bottom of the hill without falling are the cause of much adoration and snack-giving, and are considered extra lucky by the people.
Not all Kuniku are interested in such an often painful game, and instead spend the day enjoying the cherry blossoms, the friends, and the sake.
Once the sun has set, fireworks are set off along the beaches, and can be viewed from anywhere in the city (although the docks of the harbour are a preferable seat.)

You can start up your own roleplays in this forum of your Kuniku at the festival.
Are they enjoying the snacks and sake? Helping the woodcutters by the forest? Lazing under the falling cherry blossoms? Even watching the fireworks- perhaps with a special someone? ;D
Staff will be watching these roleplays- and we may interject with a choose your own adventure game! Maybe the Kuniku are interrupted by the sudden sound of a scream. We will give you a number of options to choose from, decide which your Kuniku would most likely do and reply to us showing them carrying out the action! Remember not to roleplay the consequences of their action however, that's for us to decide! These games may go on for many rounds, and only some of the Kuniku will make it to the winning ending. For those that do, there will be a choice of 3 familiars for your Kuniku- or instead 5 tokens!
Please try to keep roleplays at a maximum of 4 participants, this will make the job a lot easier for us.
If you have a roleplay that you don't want to be interrupted- simply put a in the title. This will tell us not to interfere. Also please remember to follow the regular forum rules and mark whether the roleplay is open or private.
There will also be a special game held- the log rolling competition!
