Operation: SMOKEOUT

Situation: Several days ago, the Pallas Corporation was hired by one of the top drug lords in the region, to eliminate his competition's leader, Rio Delagado. As it was deemed a low risk operation, Pallas dispatched a rookie Security Team, lead by Chief Operator Mitchell "Bear" Sawyer, to eliminate him.

Intel provided by the client and obtained thru Pallas' own intelligence channels indicated a small force of non-trained militants with rudimentary arms. When the SecTeam arrived and performed recon it was determined the enemy force was much larger than expected and had a much higher quality of equipment with them. Confident in the team Bear proceeded with the mission only to discover that the enemy force inside the villa was even larger that was determined. Bear and his team were defeated, and taken hostage. The Pallas Corporation has dispatched two Security Teams, to infiltrate the drug lord's villa, finish the mission, and liberate the hostages, before they can be interrogated.

Log of radio communications from the SecTeam on the ground.

1650 Alpha Team 5: No seriously, there's poop on me now.
1650 Alpha Team Lead: Do I need to sew your lips shut?

1709 Alpha Team 5: I can't see!
1710 Alpha Team Lead: Push those stairs! Now!
1710 Alpha Team Lead: Covering fire!
-CUT-

Objectives:
1. Breach the 4 floor villa and fight your way to the top floor, where Delagado dwells.

2. Eliminate Drug Lord Rio Delagado

3. Locate prison cell and free PALLAS CORPORATION OPERATORS ONLY.

4. Escape the villa. There will be a helicopter ready on the roof.

Villa:

Delgado's 4 story villa is located deep in the jungle, conveniently isolated from local law enforcement. The thick tropical jungle is interspersed with small drug crops and tracks used for patrolling and harvesting. The entire property is fenced in with a 10 ft high electrified chain link fence with a heavy run of barbed wire at the top. Guards occasionally patrol the perimeter.

The main entry point to the villa is a track leading up from the main road. A heavy gate at the road is manned at all times. There are no other obvious entry/exit points.

Immediately outside the villa there is a solid wall, approx. 10 ft high with guards patrolling along the top. The jungle is cleared back 50m from the wall to ensure the guards have clear field of view. A large swimming pool fills up the yard inside the walls between the rear of the villa and a small gym and sauna area.

Inside the main wall, the villa itself has a overhanging verandah/awning with blinds over most windows. Almost every wall on the ground floor has large full length windows. As the villa gets higher up there are fewer windows for privacy and security.

The ground floor mainly consists of a large entry area which includes stairs to the next floor, a large lounge area, kitchen and dining area and a den/office. The entry area and loungeroom take up the majority of the ground floor itself with the other rooms other open up off or lead into from an archway.

The second floor has a large mezzanine looking out over the entry area. Leading off from here is a collection of small offices and guest bedrooms with facilities. Another loungeroom is also present on this floor also. Some bedrooms/offices are adjoining.

Our intel was unable to provide us with any information on the next two floors. It is believed that Delagado's own personal space occupies the top floor, with a helipad above this. It is possible that the third floor is where SWORD Operators are being held. Access is only granted to Delgado himself and those he escorts - along with his own personal guards.

Delagado himself is known to lurk on the top floor, which is the command center for his operations. It is guarded by his well trained and well equipped personal Guard. He will likely attempt to flee the building if threatened, via his hidden staircase to the roof.

Lord Rio Delagado
The Villa, 4th floor.
What have we here?

He watched with contempt as his men scrambled about, bandaging their injuries, and shared information about the attempted attack. His personal guard was in full-out security mode. Minutes ago he had ordered a lock down, as well as increased the security around the perimeter, as well as inside. There's probably more of the bastards lurking around here somewhere... Maybe those fools we captured can tell us something.

"Alright, I want you, you, and you with me. Let's see what these idiots have to say for themselves.

He marched across his command room, with his head high, drowning in his own arrogance. Two members of his personal guard were behind him, and their leader in front of the group. They all went down the stairs on the east side of the building, onto the freezing, dark, third floor. The floor was just a single hallway, with makeshift prison cells on either side. He did not have to walk far, for the newest members of the prison were right near the stairs.

There they stood, for the most part healthy, with the exception of one of the men, who has lay unconscious, bleeding all over his newly cleaned cell. He noticed that they had attempted to treat their wounds with what limited supplies they had. Rio didn't have the budget to tend to scumbag prisoners.

"A'right, which one of you bastards is the leader?"

Captain Dahandre Bolivar
1st Personal Bodyguard squad
Bodyguard CO
Keep the boss safe...

Dahandre lead the men as they escorted Lord Delagado across the command floor, with his hawk eyes scanning the room. All around him, his men were working hard on full alert. The VIP's of their organization were typing away on low-tech computers. He glanced over his shoulder, to make sure the others had remembered the standard escort formation. One in front, two behind. That way, if trouble arose, the man in front could take the hits, giving time for Delagado to escape behind the other two. It was a highly selfish formation, but the most effective for their limited supply of men, and poor training.

Dahandre glared into the eyes of the prisoners as he passed, keeping them terrified, and moral low. One... Two... Here we are. He stopped as they reached the desired cell, and scratched at his pitch-black skin as his boss spoke to the prisoners. He held his shotgun close and ready, in case one of them had a hidden weapon that he had missed earlier when taking their stuff.

These guys had some pretty fancy gear. I might go down to the second floor and investigate their weapons. Cereal numbers, country of origin, maybe even learn to use them.

Chief Operator Mitchell "Bear" Sawyer
Prisoner
Unknown location
In the lockup

Bear's head ached. His head was pounding something shocking. He hadn't felt this much pain since those years ago when the grenade went off near his head. An intense piercing pain behind his eyes started, feeling like someone was poking around his brain with a screwdriver. Pressing his hands to his eyes he began rubbing his eyeballs, trying to lessen the stinging sensation in his head. It didn't help.

He opened his eyes, finding himself inside a small concrete cell alongside the other SWORD operators. He slowly stood himself up, using the bars for support.

"Nice of you to join us boss." He heard Thompson's voice off to his left. He turned around to see the man standing in the cell next to his. Thompson raised his voice as he spoke to the rest of the team.
"Hey guys, the boss is awake."
"You hear that Cromarty? Boss is awake. Things can only go uphill from here."
A groan filled the room as Cromarty tried to lean forward to see what was going on.
"No, stay down you s**t for brains - you're gunna start bleeding again!"

Bear could see that Cromarty was down with a wound in his chest. Lockwood, the team medic had done a good job patching him with the limited medical gear they carried on their persons.

"Ugh, how long was I out?" Bear asked, still rubbing his eyes.
"No more than an hour boss. The bastards busted us all up pretty good when they tackled us. Seemed like they wanted some prisoners They also gave you a booting as they carted us up here."
"I'd give me a booting as well if I wailed on three of their guys. Where is up here?"
"Third floor of the villa. Looks like it's been converted into a cell block."
"Understood."

Bear was hanging on to the bars to keep himself upright. His head still ached. Those drug bastards had done a good job on him alright. He addressed the team as he heard footsteps approaching. He spoke quickly and hurriedly.
"From now on, no names. No stories. No information. We do not give them jack s**t. Don't even tell them your favourite colour."

Delgado entered the cell block with a few of his men accompanying him. The b*****d stood with his back straight, trying to look down on the Pallas team.

"A'right, which one of you bastards is the leader?"

Bear stood in his cell, arms hanging through the bars. He wasn't saying anything. He was having trouble holding back a smirk. He tried to look confused as if he had no idea what the drug baron was talking about. Confused like he'd gotten lost on a stroll through the forest. None of the others spoke either, making Bear instantly proud of them. Bear continued to start there, looking back at Delgado with a look of confusion on his face.

Alex Johnson- Operator
SWORD Security Team Delta- Delta Lead
1/2 kilometer from perimeter fence
Big Brother is Watching

Johnson didn't like this mission. He didn't like it at all. The fact that these guys had managed to catch Bear of all people worried him. As he watched over the compound with the thermal equipment, he made mental notes on the locations of the fence and wall, guards, vehicles, everything, while simultaneously looking for openings that could be exploited. Nothing obvious was in sight.

If need be, they would have to MAKE an entrance. Johnson didn't want to do that- he's rather not make their presence known until it could not be avoided. But they had six C4 charges that were meant to provide a distraction, and if need be, they could spare one to blow a hole in the walls.

He pressed a finger to his radio. "Delta Team, sound off."

Lord Rio Delagado and Captain Dahandre Bolivar
The Villa; 3rd Floor.
Interrogation time.

Rio saw on the soldier's faces that they weren't going to tell him anything. Their faces resembled those of second graders, when their teacher asked them to recite the periodic table. He turned to face the leader of his guards, and barked at him. "Dahandre! Get your lazy a** in here and make these retards talk. I'm going back to the control center, to keep a lookout for more of these grunts."

With his great pride, he turned a sharp 180, and marched out of the cell, passing by his gigantic bodyguard, who had immediately began glaring the soldier's down. His gaze was something that no man should ever have to see. It had "Tell me what I want to know or I will kill you and eat the body" written all over it. "Look man, I don't want a ******** interrogation here. Just tell me now, who the ******** sent you?" Dahandre wasn't interested in going through all the trouble of dragging them down to the interrogation floor. Lieutenant Nanib would surely be able to make them crack eventually.

His wide, devilish eyes scrolled from man to man, seeking the one who had the most fear in his heart. The man in rear-left corner appeared to be the weakest link. Without warning or mercy, he grabbed the man by the neck, and dragged him out of the cell. "Guards, soften the rest of these bastards up. Try to keep the blood splatter to a minimum, boss man just cleaned up these cells." And with that, he dragged the prisoner down the splintering wooden staircase. From the bottom of the stairs, all that was visible was a single door on the right, and a long, dark hallway. Dahandre threw the man into the room, where he would await his fate. "Nanib will be in shortly. If I hear you bang on the door or walls, I'll ******** you up with this shotgun."

Corporal Jose Hernandez
Delagado's Private Guard
The Villa; 3rd floor
"Softening up" the prisoners.

Jose didn't speak a single word. He wanted to intimidate the prisoners to the best of his ability. He ruthlessly beat down the men with the butt of his shotgun, with the occasional kick to the stomach. He didn't give a ******** about his orders, or about the semi-innocent prisoners at his mercy. He looked over at his comrades, who seemed to be having fun. This sure as hell beats working on the farm back home... All of the religious laws that had been hammered into his head as a child all meant nothing to him now. All that mattered was his power and amusement.

(Sorry if there are spelling mistakes, I got a new comp and Office isn't on it yet.)

Junior Operator Sancho Lor
SWORD SecTeam Echo-Delta, Echo Lead
1/2 Kilometers from perimiter fence
Your not alone

Sacho cracked his neck and checked that his Challenger was securly clipped to his body armor's webbing. The added weight of the underbarrel shotgun on the weapon made it difficult to sit without leaning forward, but Sancho did what he could without hurting his back. He had been given command of a 4 man SecTeam just thirty minutes before, without any time to get to know the people or even names. Seeing as they were about to be tossed into the meat grinder, maybe that wasn't such a bad thing. He heard Op. Johnson call for a sound off of Delta team, but since Johnson was in charge of the whole Operation, Sancho answered anyway.

"Junior Op. Sanco Lor, reporting comandante of Echo team"

He tried to put the fear or death out of his mind by thinking of what else was in the building, narcotics. Back in Aekea, he had gone to drugs to relieve the stress of fighting insurgents. It had been three months since he had touched the stuff, thanks to rehab. Maybe he wouldn't count today...

Unnamed Villa Guard #1 and #2
Perimeter Fence
Delgado Property
Patrol.

The two guards were making their rounds along the perimeter fence. The guard had recently been doubled after the attack - usually there would only be a patrol every hour or so, this was their second pass in the last 30 minutes. The pair were keeping an eye out for absolutely anything that might be an enemy, but these two were inexperienced and spent the whole time with the bolt action rifles slung across their backs.

They came across a section of the fence that appeared to have been cut. Grabbing the radio they quickly reported what they had seen, slowly unslinging the rifles from their backs and taking aim.

"Hey, uhh, we got a hole cut in the fence here. Looks like someone has crawled in here or something. Umm, what do you want us to do?"

Jr. Operator Matt Cromarty
Prisoner
Downstairs

Cromarty was grabbed by the neck and dragged out of his cell. He was wounded from the earlier action when he took a round to the chest, somehow managing to bust through his armour and bloodying him up some. He must have looked like the weakest; pale and bleeding in the corner by himself, barely able to stand. He could hear the sound of his team members being beaten on and the grunts that carried down the hallway. He was lucky to have escaped the beating, he might not have survived it. That must have been why the big b*****d had grabbed him. Cromarty was going backwards now, his arse dragging on the floor and bouncing off stairs. As much as he wanted the big guard to release him, he wasn't sure if his own weight wouldn't break through the stairs underneath him. He continued to be dragged along untill he was thrown into a small room.

"Nanib will be in shortly. If I hear you bang on the door or walls, I'll ******** you up with this shotgun."

Cromarty did nothing to even acknowledge that he had been spoken to, laying there on the floor. He waited.

Chief Operator Mitchell "Bear" Sawyer
Prisoner
Cell Block
Beating

The guards had started 'softening' the SecTeam up. Fists, boots and rifle butts were all coming in repeatedly. Bear had rolled himself over to try and minimise the damage. The guards would have access to his kidneys though, but at least he would be able to walk out - unlike if they got access to his ribs. Bear was holding himself back from launching at the guard that was attacking him. It wouldn't do any good, he'd get shot before he had a chance to take any of the other guards down. He took the beating for now, but memorised the guards face that was doing the work. He would get his revenge.

Bear would get his revenge.

Pilot Samuel Schrodinger
Aruleius, Invincible-class Aircraft Carrier
Eleven miles off the coast

Samuel stared over the rail of the aircraft carrier, down at the rippling waters below that hummed and sloshed against the Aruleius's hull. The Aruleius in turn sung back, creaking and groaning as all sitting metal does once suspended in a large body of water. In the dead of night eleven miles out to sea, light was rare, and so the Invincible-class Carrier shone like a star in the velvet-wrapped shroud of night, on deck lighting bathing the runway, and everything else, in artificial daylight.

Against the singing of the ship and the sea, the sound of Marshals and Deckhands going about their business sounded out into the night, reassuring all was well because people were still here to work and make sure everything stayed that way.

Soon the fuel-line thumped and the fuel-pumps died off, the silence only bringing attention to the before-ignored humming of fuel-pumps. After a Deckhand removed the fuel-line and covered the port with the fuel-cap to keep the Jet-fuel where it was, Samuel took a bite out of what was left of his salad sandwich, threw the rest over-board and after patting one of the stub-wings of the helicopter, clambered into the Blackhawk's cockpit, chewing on the remnants of his breakfast.

Cockpit lights shone in the relative shadow of the helicopter's interior as electrical systems were powered up, navigational systems showing up on-screen and digital dials centring themselves, and soon the signal was given and the heavy whine of T700 engines powering up sounded out through the night. Flicking various switches to enable various systems, the rotor's were soon a blur above Samuel's head.

Fitting the headset upon his head, Samuel dialled in the tower's frequency, and took a breath;

"Nero to Tower; requesting permission to take off, over."

Tapping his feet against the peddles, Samuel pondered the depth of his training; Fixed wing, helicopters... Only a handful of each one mind; but it was still more than some;

"Granted Nero. Good hunting; out."

The reply broke Samuel's thoughts, and with a faint smile, he lifted the helicopter from the pad, and off towards the shore.

"To all ground-units, Nero flight is inbound; I'm sure a Blackhawk gunship of some kind'll aid you guys." Samuel smiled after redialling the outgoing signal, all but the faint static of the radio and the beating of the rotor-blades filling the cockpit.
