What "argument" do you get from religious apologetic annoys you the most?
For me it's probably Pascal's Wager.
"If Atheists are right and a Christian dies, nothing happens, but if Christians are right an an Atheist dies they go to hell forever, so why not just hedge your bets and love Jesus"
- . -; It's so full of fail.
First, it creates a double false dichotomy. It assumes that there's only 2 kinds of people in the world: Christians and Atheists and only 2 possible realities: No God or God. When really there's a wide range of religions. What if the Muslims are right? Or the Hindus? Or what if Christians ARE right, but what God wants isn't what the Bible says?
And Secondly, it assumes that Their God only cares about what people say and not really think. Pretending to love Jesus is apparently good enough to fool God.
It's all all around really stupid argument

Oh yeah, I really can't stand that one either! I think the one that annoys me the most though is "If you don't have a religion to follow and a god(s) to fear, then there's no way you can retain any notion of respectable morals. Everyone would be looting stores and shooting each other because there are no consequences." This is usually used as a last ditch effort in an argument/debate.
First, I ask them if they've ever heard of police/government. Then I show them that part of a human beings evolution included the development of a consience of sorts. The real reason why most of us don't go out killing everyone that crosses us is because it's actually written into our DNA not to do so. It's kind of like the protection of the continuation of our species, a very basic instinct that any animal has ingrained in them.
I also love to point out the fact that they are huge hypocrits if the only reason they're partaking in a belief system is so that they won't be punished in the end. What a heinous thing to believe!

Ugh. Seriously. "Atheists have no moral code" is so damn lame.
It's like, NO. We are communal creatures. We developed a moral code ages ago so that we could live together without ripping each other apart. Even other communal animals, be it packs of wolves, lions or piranhas follow what we could consider a kin of moral code.
Strawmen of any kind bother me, especially when it comes to religion.
"If people come from monkeys why are there still monkeys?"
"If People come from monkeys, why have I never seen a monkey give birth to a human?"
"If people come from monkeys blah blah blah"
It's hard to tell if these people are serious and honestly dont understand jack s**t about Evolution, or if they just dont have anything better to say and hope that WE dont understand evolution.

My jaw always hits the floor whenever I hear a "If people come from monkeys..." statement. I hope for their sake that they really don't know anything about evolution because they never wanted to willingly look at any facts. Who know, maybe some day some of them will.

we will concentrate on ruining your face. Ugh. Seriously. When I as 7 my parents bought me this book called "Why are Bubbles Round? And other Science Questions" And you know what one of the pages was? "If Humans evolved from monkey, why are there still monkeys?" And in very clear, very simple language that even a 7 year old could understand it explained EXACTLY why there are still monkeys. Why should 7 year old me be more informed than full grown adults?

Although, "perhaps if you weren't an athiest, you wouldn't be gay... God has turned his back on you" is definately the harshest thing anyone's ever said...

It was said in a low, pitying tone, whereas if it had been shouted or whatever I'd have either laughed or given them the finger... It's the pity I can't deal with, the fact that people really do think I'm going to hell and it scares them... That upsets me! I know it shouldn't but it does... crying

It really does hurt my brain trying to find out how people's judgement can be so clouded and dumb. How the heck is it possible to think that because someone is, for example, gay and athiest that the two would be related in any way? I know some Christians that are gay, and they hate it. All they get is torchure and mocking from people who say they aren't really Christians and that they are going to hell and that something is wrong with them. I'm not gay, but if i were, i wouldn't put up with that crap. JS.

I think the worst argument I've heard is that because atheists don't believe in God, they have to replace that belief and worship with something else, like themselves or evolution.
