¤І§άβэ£ Я¡σгđάή¤ Isabel pulled up by the coffee shop, her dutiful Civic puddling to a grateful halt. It was Sunday, around noon, and her day off. She decided to take the "runt" to spend the afternoon with her. A few hours at her gym, then maybe grab some late-lunch or early dinner. After that, they could hit the town. However, what she didn't tell her was that the whole thing was a set-up, though it wasn't nearly devious as that sounded. The entire day would be infused with valuable lessons of physical, mental, and spiritual strength, that would hopefully help the girl on her way to become a great warrior, and an even greater person. She wasn't sure if she wanted to introduce her to Quiver someday, or if the rest of Quiver was even interested in her. Nevertheless, these lessons would be invaluable to her, and would help whether she wanted to become her own independent vigilante, or just to have as a fighting chance should anything uncanny or otherwise dangerous befall her.
She also could not forget to consider how Alice felt about all this. She still sensed some uncertainty and fear in the girl whenever anything supernatural came up, which was only natural. However, she was going to have to make up her mind soon on which world she wanted to be a part of, because as soon as you enter, there is no going back. At least, not without going completely insane.
Isabel could see Alice coming out off her shift through the nearly translucent panes of glass. They carried a tight ship at this place, she had to admit. Well, at least their window-washer did. She reached across the passenger seat and opened the door for her just as she stepped out of the building.
"'Afternoon, Aurelius."

і'м иот άƒяάіd оғ томояяош... Alice looked up from her cell phone, seeing Isabel before her. She smiled broadly, truly happy to see her mentor. "Afternoon, Isabel!" she said, snapping her phone shut. It'd been years since she'd gotten the job at the coffee shop and she'd developed a habit of texting while working. It helped pass the time. Her shift lasted a solid six hours without any breaks. But there was the Azure City work ethic everyone talked about... if you ignored the texting.
Slipping her phone into the pocket of her knee-length, black dress, she sped up her pace to where Isabel was parked, then let herself into the vehicle. "So. What are we doing today?" she asked, automatically fastening her seat belt. She tried to disguise her longing for a break with nonchalance, though she wasn't sure it was working. Training was insanely difficult. Sure, work and bills and Quiver training didn't seem like much to juggle, but training took up tons of time and wore Alice down pretty quickly. But it was something she wanted to do. Become a real Quiver, not just a runt, was high on Alice's list of things to accomplish. So, for the last few months, she'd really thrown herself into the training. But though she hated to admit it, it really was difficult.
And then there was the self-respect of it all. She really didn't want to let down Isabel. Sure, her mentor was wiser than her and stronger than her and would probably understand if Alice couldn't cope with becoming a Quiver, but Alice had always had a deep sense of honor within her - giving up simply went against her nature.
(Sorry that took so very long - formatting had be satisfactory. Gah!)▪▪Λlιсε Λυяєlıυѕ.

¤І§άβэ£ Я¡σгđάή¤ Isabel smirked. "If I told you, I would have to kill you."
The car pulled out out of its small parking spot and onto the main street. Much larger and shinier cars smoothly glided past them with barely a sound, while her's huffed it towards Downtown. She didn't seem to mind nor notice. In fact, she seemed rather proud of her beat-up classic. 'Japanese cars always last the longest,' she once said, 'Far more reliable than any American model.'
It wasn't long before they found themselves on the now familiar streets that led to her gym. "I have your gear in the trunk. You left it in my car last time, so I thought I would wash it and bring it along. You don't mind some practice, do you?"
She flashed her a look that confirmed that she didn't really care what she thought. She may have been a good person and friend, but that wouldn't keep her from being a harsh mentor. Besides, she kept the best interests of her student at heart.
"Good," she said, just as they pulled up, "Let's go."

і'м иот άƒяάіd оғ томояяош... Alice cringed as Isabel suggested practice. Sighing, she glanced over at her, wondering if she should say anything. Her question was answered as she caught Isabel's eye, who clearly did not care about whether or not Alice wanted to practice. She was tired from work, which was a lot of standing around, and practice was so damn difficult lately!
But Alice knew Isabel wouldn't really overwork her. Isabel always seemed like she didn't care about those around her, but it was basically in her job description as a Quiver to defend - she had to care. It was who she was, though she may not show it.
"Alright, then," said Alice meekly as she gazed out the window. She cracked her fingers out of habit and sighed once more. It was going to be another long day. Why can't she just take me out for lunch sometime?! she wondered briefly, though she knew something like that would never happen; Quivers-in-training didn't get days off. ▪▪Λlιсε Λυяєlıυѕ.
