Mōretsu Pirates
The story centers around a spirited high school girl named Marika. She keeps herself busy with the space yacht club and her part-time job at a high-class retro café. One day, two men suddenly appear and claim to be subordinates of her dead father. They demand that she assume command of the space pirate ship Benten Maru. A privateer ship's compact was made during a war of independence a century ago, and according to that compact, the ship must be inherited by the captain's next direct descendant. Marika finds herself embarking on a new life as a space pirate.

Sounds like an interesting anime for next year.

was suppose to be out already but they moved the date up >.< wish I could find the novels online I think the name it went by before that name change was mini-skirt space pirates xP
but yeah there needs to be more space pirates >.> or something like legend the galactic heros except pirates are t he main characters xP

Oooh it sounds good, we have to wait until 2011 though D: . Have you seen Outlaw Star? There's space pirates in there if I remember correctly? I loved that anime.

The whole normal high school girl made to become a captain thing is a real turn off for me. Doesn't help that it's a high-spirited one at that.
Space pirates are cool, but the summary does not sound cool to me. :/
