Raine entered the classroom, a leash in her hand and a rather feisty looking Fluffie on the other end. She looked at the cages and headed over to one, opening it she released the creature inside. It was many colors a metallic gold with red, almost orange, it had spots of gold on both its sides and running around the top fin as well as a circle of it on its fan like tail. On the top of its head were two horns, slightly colored and patterned much like its body. Its eyes were slanted, large, and a brown-gold-blue. Very much an odd Koi, it choose to fly rather then swim and every so often it let out a 'Wa!'. Today her students would learn about that species of Koi, and such information as how it was able to fly, where it was found, what it ate, and its origins. Letting out seven more, Raine watched as they flew gracefully around the night air of the courtyard. A smile came to her lips as she used magic to light the lanterns around the yard and waited for students.

Raine chuckled a bit at the students reaction to the Koi.
"You can touch them, they don't mind just be careful," She said while heading over to an area between the cages where she picked up a large burlap bag. Putting her hand in she came back out with food for the Koi. Plant matter, mostly algae, with a bit of dried mashed bamboo and some chopped vines. She handed some to the student.
"They'll be more likely to come by you if you hold you hand out with this in it. It attracts them well enough," Raine said as the Koi floated by.

Raine looked over her shoulder as behind her a Koi cried 'WA!' the rest of the group responded with their own 'WA's and the courtyard filled with noise. She giggled, it was almost that time of night, when the Koi began to sing. As she watched one flipped over on its back and began to twirl around in the air, crying out 'WA!' as it did so. If the rest of her class didn't hurry up they'd miss an exciting lesson and an exciting night of learning.

"Oh, good-evening Aurora. No they aren't like the Fluffie, actually they're nothing like the Fluffies. I wouldn't allow students to learn about experimental or man-made creatures in this class, they're infinitely more dangerous! I just use them for security! No, these are 'Demon' Koi, or Flying Koi family Mythica danger level two. Here, take some food," Raine replied with a smile, holding out a handful of food, as a Koi brushed by her head, "Don't be so afraid, they don't attack unless provoked." Raine giggled as she stroked a Koi along its balance line, her fingers brushing over its smooth scales, her eyes taking in the way they changed color. Her eyes focused on it, her ears perked up and she looked the creature in its eyes.
"You aren't a Koi are you? Students stay back! We have an impostor!" Raine shouted as she grabbed the creature by its tail and watched as it shifted in her hands, becoming a snake, then a rat, then taking its true form.
The creature was gray, its skin looked patchy its eyes bulged under what seemed a ribbon of purple skin and from its jaw protruded several great, sharp teeth. Raine, still holding the flailing creature, shifted her grip under its neck then took a knife from her waist and plunged it between two of her fingers. She did that several times, then burned the body and scattered the ashes.
"That, class, was not a Koi. That, class, was a Cermi- a shape-shifting beast born of darkness and magic, capable of killing large groups of animals and taking their places. How one got here, I don't know, but I think we're rather lucky it was just one," Raine said, cleaning her knife on a kerchief, her hair slightly out of place, "Now. Let's begin class."

"Well, Otto, today we'll learn all about the Flying Koi, its feeding patterns, habitat, how it lives, mating, everything. From there we'll learn how to care for them from the egg up, it's bound to be an exciting day," Raine replied with a smile as she fed some of the Koi, "Now, let's all take our seats," with a flick of her wrist Raine summoned several cushions and low tables for the students to sit at, then she asked her class a question, "Can anyone tell me why were here at night?"

"Precisely, now, who can tell me what nocturnal means or is?" Raine asked her students again, her arms behind her back a Koi floating by and brushing her hair lightly.
It screamed 'Wa!' then went to join the others as they migrated up by the strings of lanterns, casting shadows on the dirt ground as they moved.

Otto looked at the student whom had just walked in, she observed his limp and her eyes widened in shock. Otto's data base ran at full speed as it collected information on the boy. What she knew was that he'd been referred to Ninotchka for.... rage? Was in a magic class, ACT1 and even in the same power control class as she was. Otto shivered at that, he'd spent more time with Ninotchka then she had, if she were in his shoes she'd have had a nervous breakdown long before then-then again perhaps not, she wasn't sure. It also seemed, though, that she'd met him in the library as well. Otto didn't question how he'd gotten hurt, she didn't want to know.
"There's an open seat over here," She said, wanting to get to know him better, wanting to get to know everyone else better as well.
