This is a Russia support thread. He has had probably the toughest life out of all of the characters, but people still hate him. This kind of annoys me. So for all us Russia fangirls out there, let's give him some love!!!
Basically in this thread you can go on rants against Russia haters, and if you have a funny story to tell that involves you dissing a Russiabasher, then go ahead and tell it.

I don't really hate Russia... I'm just scared of him. Of course, If I could do one thing for him, I'd give him a warm place to live with lots of sunflowers. ^^~

See, the only thing I've got against Russia whatsoever is that he scared the living sh*t outa me first time I saw him. Well, that and I look (unfortunately) like Lithuania. >_>;; Other than that, he's adorable. ^^- He's a nice guy, once you get to know him. Yandere, yes, but nice. I like meh yandere... ninja

(Neko heard this story but...) I was in History class on Friday, and we are learning about the Cold War (RusUs FTW, WOOT!!), but one of the girls in my class said that the Russians would survive a nuclear blast because [and i quote] "they are like cockroaches who survive anything." This got me pissed off, so i yelled at her "Hey, don't hate Russia, he's had a really bad life!" Her expression was priceless. Actually the who classes expression was priceless, they had no idea what i was talking about. And i was wearing my Russia keychain on that day too.

Russia is one of my favorites. Probably WHY I dress as Lithuania willingly (though there's really no one else I CAN dress as... you've seen the cosplay pics, right?).
I think that if there's any Russia-hating going on it's because he IS so popular that he's gotten TOO popular, if you get my meaning?
It's like it's not original to like Russia anymore, you're just "one of those twilight naruto Russia fans.

I'm talking about in reality with people who hate Russians. Such as why are the bad guys in most American movies Russian? It annoys me to no end. There is one movie though in which there is a very cute Russian soldier (major crush), so i've had a history of liking Russians before Hetalia.
At the Anime Convention i went to last weekend there was a Russia cosplayer (i was cosplaying China), i swear we were stalking each other the whole convention on Saturday. Whenever we ran into each other we hugged. And i got to hug a Lithuania, that made my day too.

((I almost posted something about rarely seeing the Hetalia fandom hate Russia. xD))
If people hate Russia, it's most likely because of ideological reasons and the influence of other people. That comment that girl made probably had something else behind it.
As for the movie thing, I think that's because of the Cold War. XD I don't mean to be offensive with this next comment, but I think that the villians in some of the future movies will probably be from the Middle East somewhere. More or less the villians in American movies seem like they're from a country that was an enemy to us from the past. D': ((...and I'm not talking about all the movies, just some. bleh i just don't want to seem racist is all ))

So today (Saturday) I went out to dinner with my dad, to have some lobster. The restaurant we went to, was more like a shack and you order your food at the cashier and wait 'till your number was called, then you went to a window to get your food. Well some of the people who were working at the restaurant were Russian. You could tell, because they had strong accents (sometimes it was hard to understand what number they called out). They were perfectly nice people. There was also a British family that was visiting (they were easy to tell as well). Once again, they sounded like perfectly nice people, and they were having a fun time. At the same bench where my dad and I were sitting, there was another couple. My dad left to go do something, and all of a sudden the lady started to go on a small tirade against the Russians and the British. I was so incredibly pissed off. This isn't because Russia is my favorite Hetalia character. It was the fact that the lady was bad-mouthing other nationalities and thinking so highly of herself. She was one of those high class, rich people (the way she dressed and talked proved that). She was one of those people who make my blood boil and intensify my dislike (*coughhatecough*)of Americans. There is no reason why someone should be bad-mouthing people who are bringing in money, or are trying to make a living for themselves. *snorts* So much for trying to get along with people from elsewhere. (Don't get me started on the new Arizona law, or the recent "Cold War" spy swap)

:] One of the main reasons that people hate each other is that "haters" are taught by their parents, who are in turn taught by the grandparents and up that "those people are bad. You should hate them." even though the bad people are the ones making the decisions.
Russians, MiddleEasterns, and Germans are some of the nicest people I know. [:

I have the same exact problem and feelings as you Am. I'm extremely happy to be in France at the moment. America has turned me into a bit of a Communist. Europe is sooo much nicer. Almost all of the Europeans I've met are nicer than Americans!

Veretix I have the same exact problem and feelings as you Am. I'm extremely happy to be in France at the moment. America has turned me into a bit of a Communist. Europe is sooo much nicer. Almost all of the Europeans I've met are nicer than Americans! Of course; in Europe there's an emphasis on being polite no matter how much you don't like someone. In America it's more like "say what you want and if someone gets offended, who cares, it's their problem". This is why so many people in other countries don't like Americans; HUGE culture difference. Take Lithuanian Christmas for example. You set out a plate of extra food just in case some weary traveler comes over and wants to eat. YOU WELCOME AND FEED BUMS. And it's totally cool. Most Americans won't even spare a dollar for a war veteran (or anyone less fortunate than themselves) because we're incredibly self-centered... it's sort of sad.
