Reason for creating this forum:
I love album artwork, and I find that this is the best way to find some new additions, as well as to share my small library of epic album covers. Some songs I have on my iPod are only there because of their cool album covers, and you all might just be able to relate to that some way or another. Please post as many epic albums as you can for I love albums and want to continue my exploration for more. biggrin

Reason why it is so epic you have to share it: Seriously? This screams "EPIC!" whenever I look at this in my folder I have entitled "Epic Album Covers." It is a WIZARD riding a giant SPACE SQUID in an attack on ROBOT SHARKS!!!! Also, there is a monkey wizard, which is equally awesome. This is one of the first albums I put in the folder, and for obvious reasons. Never have I been overwhelmed by such epicness since seeing this. Also, the cartoony artwork works well with the title, as we can see the wizard will rise (or die trying).

Name of Artist: Job For a Cowboy
Name of Album: Ruination
Reason why it is so epic you have to share it: This is more of a cool/badass cover than an epi one, and also one that made me think a little despite it being a heavy metal cover that is usually made to just look at. When I look at this artwork, I think of the 'two sides of the world.' One side, you think of as good (if you are near the Americas especially) and one you think of as bad (again if you are near the Americas). The good being Europe and North America, while the bad is the Middle East, South America, and some parts of Africa. This album shows both sides. The one on the left is the 'good' side, showing a Trojan Horse look-alike in the middle of it (possibly an omen of destruction?), and possibly a city being bombed. While the 'bad' side shows a desolate wasteland with one oil pump in the middle of it showing the dependence for oil in the Middle East because of the economies there. In the middle is the Job For a Cowboy's iconic devil/cow skull/guy mascot, which is made to show the two sides being influenced by him (the Devil). It is especially made clear with countries flags adorning him like a toga or robe. I agree with what this album is portraying (at least, I think this is what it is portraying), and wish that all of this crap around the world would stop.

Reason why it is so epic you have to share it: The fact it's robots attacking horses in a random clearing with a rainbow. It seriously made me smile that I knew I needed to get it. The music is pretty good as well It's techno I'm not too in to techno but it's pretty awesome. It's epic to me.

Reason why it is so epic you have to share it: For one thing, I just love cartoonish looking album covers, and this whets my appetite. :3 It shows the waging of a battle that continues to this day. The battle of old vs. new has been around since... Forever, basically. And with this, in addition to the battle axe wielding geriatric man (which is very epic), every person in this battle is wielding a weapon that is so outlandish for them to use that is comical. Especially with the kid on the big wheel, charging in swinging a handaxe and apparently screaming something at the senior not-so-citizen-anymore.

The guy in the music store made me buy it because he guilt tripped me because I didn't choose anything from his selection. He said if I didn't like It i can go back and call him lame. XD

Name of Album: Bat out of Hell 3: The Monster is Loose
Reason why it is so epic you have to share it: Meatloaf has always had some pretty awesome album covers,a nd I personally love them all, but I have to think that this is the best of all of them. Look at this very closely, and you may be able to wrangle up some of the emotions and thoughts I first had about this when I found it. For one thing, there is a huge bat looking creature breathing fire at the ripped-Conan esque hero on the motorcycle from Hell. Defiantly, the man waves his blade in the air at the creature, enticing it to attack him. Around him are broken pillars, rubble that has most likely been made by the dangerous creature, and to top it off a damsel in distress. Plus, Meatloaf is just so cool that I needed to add this album in here. :3

XD I feel guilty all the time, even when I did nothing bad, I just feel guilty that I may have cheated someone out, or I didn't give money to that animal commercial, or to a local bum that sips beer and eats the crumbs off shopping carts.

Name of Album: Crack the Skye
Reason why it is so epic you have to share it: Mastodon has some pretty cool covers, but this is one of the best. It has a holographic bear/aardvark/wolf, two symmetrical wizards with mouths that are emitting strange white light, adn an impending hurrican of doom in the middle of all this. Not even to mention just how crazily awesome it is to have all of this in one single cover.
