The Khoonda plains were the area on the planet Dantooine that were the location of the Matale estate—which later was rebuilt and came to be known as Khoonda, the seat of the Dantooine government after the Jedi Civil War. The plains were near the Jedi Enclave, and were the access point of the crystal cave. During the First Jedi Purge, the plains were the site of the Battle of Khoonda. The area was inhabited by kinrath, kath hounds and Humans from the nearby Khoonda settlement.

A farmer had to protect his live stock right? Jolen thought to himself. He cluthsed his left arm, which was gushing lood from a rather vicious bite from earlier. So far he had only managed to piss the damn kath hounds off.
All of a sudden there was a sharp pain in his chest, and then his head, and he was facing the sky on his back. He had been rammed by one of the horned beasts, it seemed. He felt another shar pain in his leg. All 13 horned kath hounds were digging in at once. His screemes could be heard for some distance before his larynx was torn from his throat.

Vaan Stooped over his livestock. It was useless now...the damn dogs had ravaged them. He poked through them, looking for anyone with meat enough left to sell. This would surely make a huge impact on the way he lived for the rest of the year... it took a long time to grow a herd to this size. He turned a few of the corpses over.. but the dogs had hit the night before...and the bugs had already found these. Damn it all.

It took the man a long time before he noticed the woman. He was out of it at this point; wrapped in his own personal turmoils over his future. He looked at the woman....she was armed. He sighed. What worse could happen anyways. "Might i ask why the hell you're on my land? I have nothing for you to rob, so be on with ya."

Closer in to the caves to the north, footprints could be seen, as well as miscellaneous trails of blood from the pack's most recent prey. noises could be heard coming from within the cave where most of the trails led.

A yelp could be heard from within the cave, but a few moments passed with no activity. The pack acted at once, surging out of the cave in a group of 12 strong, alpha obviously leading, and Omega just a hair behind the next lowest dog, a wound on its leg. The look in their eyes was...unusual at best. They were still too far to cause any immediate harm, though.

The alpha took the hit in the leg, leaving an exposed section of charred bone and muscle...the creature continued running though, bizarrely, as if unaware of the pain. The others followed, faster than the leader, though, and the pack split and scattered. The creatures reached the mercinary, and they becan to ravenously lunge...it became apparent that they were not quite right... they ran in too carelessly...there was too little thought in their actions.
