Appearance: Short, spiky black hair. 5’6” (which earned him the title of Shorty because he is the shortest male captain). Light build.
Bio: Born in the seventh district of Rukongai. When he was attacked by a group of violent kids he discovered his love for fighting and decided to join the soul reaper academy. Hiko graduated from the academy in half the time it took the rest of his classmates. Only 2 years after graduation Hiko was promoted to lieutenant of squad eleven. 5 years after his promotion to lieutenant he was recognized as a captain-class soul reaper and soon became captain of squad 7. 10 years after becoming a captain Hiko became tired of the ways of the soul reaper and left the soul society to live in the world of the living as a renegade.
Abilities: Massive spiritual pressure: enough to suffocate weak enough enemies. Fast and graceful when using a sword. Terrible combat kido user although decent with kido healing techniques.
Zanpakuto: Hiko’s Zanpakuto is called Hiru (leech). The sealed form is a katana with a red handle and a circular hand guard. The blade has a thin tube running down each side of it.
Shikai: Command: Bleed him/her dry: In shikai form the tubes on the side of Hiru’s blade extend and connect to Hiko’s arm. When an enemy is slashed their blood flows through the tubes and into Hiko, depending on how much blood is absorbed Hiko’s wounds will heal. As an added bonus the tubes prevent Hiko from being able to drop Hiru. The blade also becomes coated in an anticoagulant that keep the blood flowing from enemy’s wounds.
Bankai: Shiranai Hiru (Shiranai is a shortened form of the Japanese word for insatiable). Shiranai Hiru is three times larger than normal and grows enough tubes to completely cover Hiko’s arm and extend slightly across his chest and onto his face. Abilities: A large number of leeches can be generated from the Shiranai Hiru’s blade, these leeches latch onto enemies and slowly transfer their spiritual energy to Hiko. Blood drained by Shiranai Hiru can be stored and used to heal Hiko’s wounds later instead of immediately. The anticoagulant no longer just maintains blood-flow but actually causes the enemy to bleed more.
