Hello everyone. I'm happy to announce the opening of the first weekly Bible Discusion. What we will do is pick a chapter out of the bible, not the whole book, just one chapter of one of the books and read it and then discuss what we think it means and what we think about it. Each week I will ask one of you to pick the chapter we read. We will set up a roster to figure out who gets to pick.

Guess I'll start it off. I found Mathew ch.1 interesting. It's the only place in the Bible that goes so far back into the linage of Josheph. Of course this in itself doe's not have a lot to do with Jesus because he was concieved by the Holy Spirit. But it's still interesting to learn.

That is kinda interesting... Fourteen generations and everything lol All the way back to Abraham man... That's a looong time ago! lol Joseph seemed like a good guy, taking care of Mary through that, and putting her away secretly, respecting her and whatnot. And when the Angel finally told him what was going on, and basically said that he didn't have to worry about showing her in public and being close to her I guess, in that, he first off, knew that she really was his wife and didn't have to concern about anything, and in that, he knew the prophecy had been fulfilled =D
Now, what I like, just looked at(Have a bible in front of me right now lol), is that once he woke up, it says '24' Then Joseph being aroused from sleep did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, 25' And did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus.'
So, my question is, and I'm gonna try to keep it as clean as possible because I Dun like saying certain things and stuff XP lol And I am asking this because it came to mind, but I want to be sure I am understanding it correctly, but does that mean he basically like... Didn't sleep with her until she gave birth? Reason I am asking is because, to all married adults and stuff, know that let's you really know your spouse, you two are one at that point, and have that connection which is unexplainable lol
And does 'Took to him his wife' or when the angel says, 'do not be afraid to take to you Mary your Wife...' mean anything different then what I am thinking? Which just means he had her? <.< lol Like y'know, took with him, or kept her close to him, or that in that, she was his wife, and he had nothing to worry about? Stuff like that...
Thoughts? O.o This is all still in Mathew Chapter 1, so I hope it's OK in where I brought the discussion ^^;

lol indeed. Yes, the "Did not know her" ment they did not "Sleep" together. Because Jesus was ment to be born from a virgin and so that ment Joseph couldn't do it. As for taking his wife to him, I'm not sure but I think it ment that he understood that she wa his wife and faithful to him even though she was pregnent. But like I said, I don't really know lol. XD

Ok everyone, this weeks Bible discuassion will be on Mathew chapter 2. Please read it and tell me what you like/ don't like about it. What did you find interesting? Also remember taht if there is a certain chapter from one of the many books of the Bible, let me know and we will set it up to be the one we talk about the following week.

We all know this chapter. It's the Christmas story we have all heard so many times but it never gets old. Jesus being born in a manger and the three Wise men following the star. It's very nice chapter. It show's us the early life of Jesus, and his parent's journy as they tried to keep thier newborn son safe from the currupt king Herod.

Well I must say. I to would be shoocked if Jesus came to me wanting to be baptized. Jon must have been more confused then a bull in a ketchup bottle XD Anyways, I thought it was awsome how it said that when Jesus rose out of the water after being baptized that he saw the will of God just come down and rest in him and then hearing God say ( paraphrased ) : This is my son, who I am well pleased with.
