Okay, this is the second time a mule of mine has bought a 'starfish', only to find out that it's dead or dieing. And GAIA KNOWS there is a problem! It's in the bug reports several times!
Watch out for Party Balls. They can lock you out of your tank! Yes, this has been reported too. There's a band aide for this, but GAIA hasn't fixed it.

I avoid both those now because of the bad word of mouth...pity, the starfish are adorable...v sad

redface Didn't want to look like a hypocrite, so I would like to mention that I took these two starfish out of Barrett's tank early Sunday morning. I did not buy them in the Market place. I will not take the Party Ball out until the powers that be fix that problem.
I went to the Market place and looked at price of starfish. I seem to be there a lot buying red lights. 4laugh I thought a lot of the sellers looked a little "fishy". But that might just be me getting burned so often. burning_eyes
Did I mention I'm addicted to red lights. Picturing 500 in my tank. whee

I bought a goldfish today. Guess what. It was already dead. Luckily I reported the guy who sold it to me. Guess what else. He has a starfish a penguin and a jellyfish for sale at very low prices. So, I guess that means that any fish you buy on the market place can already be dead. So, guess the only thing to do is keep track of who you buy from so that you can report them and hopefully stop the sale of dead fish. 3nodding
Buy a single fish at a time, and only when you have space to put them in your tank to check their age and see that they aren't dieing tomorrow.

This can happen with any fish. If it does, you just need to submit a report and your fish will get replaced in a few days/week.

So I decided to check and see if anything had changed with the Party Balls. To my surprise, it had! One Party Ball will not lock you out of your tank, but more than one will. I was able to gift Party Balls to my mules (the Party Balls promptly died), and let my dolphins play with the one I had in Barrett's tank. Three days and I can still get into my tank.
