For firearm I would have to say a spas-12 shotgun with quickloads. Buckshot is fairly common, and every state trooper/law enforcement officer has a decent amount of slugs stocked in their cars.

The backing of a crow bar, I can live with, but swords, come on, this isn't Sparta, first off, most swords are ornamental these days, no good in a fight, second, maintenance of the edge would be too much of a hassle in the middle of an apocalypse, and third, very few people can even claim to be novices with a sword, they will just swing away and get caught up in bones, and then they die.

I just watched Deadliest Warrior, the William Wallace one, after seeing the display of the war hammer, I'm going to have to go with that.

Best Melee Weapon: -Baseball Bat (Wooden) :: A baseball bat is light enough to be wielded effectively by anybody, and its entire purpose is to swing it as hard as possible. It makes it the perfect striking weapon when factoring in versatility and targets with no more endurance than human flesh and bone. The wooden version is a tad heavier and can break, but it's still plenty light enough, it will hit harder, and even if it breaks you maintain jagged wood as a stabbing weapon. It's also very easy to carry without weighing you down.
Best Ranged Weapon: -9mm Handgun :: This one was hard for me to decide on, but I had to break it down to a pistol because they're very light, have no real recoil, and they hold a lot of rounds. The ammunition is also very light and takes up limited space, and it's still going to be plenty fatal as long as you can put the shot into the zombie's brain. It's accurate, too, and it's very easy to maneuver compared to something large.

i would say, no AK-47's..... they waste ammo. Sure, you can use use single shot, but the closer the zombies get, the more "ammo hungry" youll get.

wooden ones are generally about 40-45 oz, not all that much, but it will weigh you down more than the average aluminum bat that generally weighs 20-30 oz., and if you can cut weight in any area of your equipment while still remaining efficient, it's a good idea to do so.
