Read everything before you battle!
To start a battle you and one other person or an event NPC must agree to battle. you or the other person then makes a new thread in the Battle Grounds, the person that has the highest speed state goes first.
Pokemon Defense
there is a simple formula to find out what the defense of your Pokemon is, some moves you will have to use your Sp. Def instead of the normal defense, but the formula is the same.
Def divided by 20 = defense
your opponent rolls a D20 with there attack if the number is greater then your defense the attack does full damage. if the number is less then your defense take the remainder of defense away from there attack.
If you roll a 1 then you miss, get a 20 your crit.
critical hits give you x2 damage to your attack

Other: usaly moves that do no damage but have an efect
Special: these are usually elemental or mind based attacks
