Pokemon should be real! for one reason and one reason ONLY!
To Keep You Company, and Make You Feel Loved.

No Temptations of sex or having babies...or making money to support a family! Just A caring Pokemon that's all we human's need. Instead of cats and dogs....we need Pokemon.

You would still need a boyfriend/girlfriend. I mean unless you are talking about breeding with the Pokemon yourself, which is what you are suggesting here from one point of view, then your theory about never needed a mate because of Pokemon just went bye bye.
However, I do believe that Pokemon would be nice to own for many other reasons.
Think about the job benefits. For example, there is a wild forest fire and not enough firemen! Wouldn't a swampert be nice to have to use mud shot to put out the flames?
Yeah, that is one career bonus if they could exist in our society.
Then there's the medical advantages too. Plant Pokemon as well as Chansey and Blissey have healing properties. By nature, a Blissey/Chansey wants to heal the sick.
For those who suffer insomnia, get a Pokemon that knows yawn or even better, sleep powder. Oddish!
A cute little oddish. Oddish sweet scenting a room, helping those who need sleep get it, plus they do not need much maintanance. After all, they are weeds.

I would gladly have a Pokemon companion over ANY human companion.
