Lumière's story begins in Mahogany Town - the place she was born and raised. She's lived there her whole life, along with her mother, father, and two sisters. Her parents are quiet and reserved, but respectable people. Her mother was quite a decent coordinator in her younger days, and her father a renowned scientist who specialized in technology - particularly with items made for Pokemon trainers. Shortly after getting married, her parents moved to Mahogany Town, where they raised three beautiful daughters. Lumi is the middle child, just three years younger than her older sister, Noèmie. Their younger sister, Alice, is six years younger than Lumi and definitely the baby of the family.
The girls grew up in the chilly, yet peaceful town of Mahogany. There they attended to school like most other kids there. It was unlikely for children of their town to go off on Pokemon journeys - at least, more so than other cities and towns. Noèmie was the first to leave home, naturally. Two years ago, when she was sixteen, she and her friend Robyn made the decision to go off on their own and see the world as Pokemon trainers. Seeing how she had already excelled in her studies and everything else she did, her parents saw no harm in letting her go off on her own. She was more than capable of taking care of herself.
Since then, Lumi had wanted to go off on her own and prove herself as well. She, herself, held a real soft spot for Pokemon and wanted nothing more than to leave home to become a Pokemon trainer. Lumi was always a perfectionist and worked hard to excel. It irritated her that her older sister worked half as hard as she did for the same results; being perfect seemed to come more naturally to Noèmie. But after two years of struggling to excel academically, her parents finally agreed that she, too, was responsible and ready enough to head off on her own.
Two years have past since Noèmie first left home. Since then, Noèmie has already completed her Johto journey and is traveling around the Kanto region now. Lumi has a lot of catching up to do, but will try her best to be the best trainer in the world. Lumi's parents gave her a Seel as a starter Pokemon for her journey. In addition, Lumi had befriended a young shiny Eevee, whom she is also taking along on her journey. The Eevee, Shimmer, prefers not to fight however, and is merely a companion for the trip.
While Lumi goes off on her own, her younger sister Alice stays home, still attending school. She has a long way to go before she can leave as well. Especially since Alice is not like either of her big sisters when it comes to being perfect and striving hard to excel. She still has some growing up to do before her parents let her out on her own. Alice had actually begged Lumi to let her tag along, but Lumi knew she couldn't focus on her training and take care of her little sister as well on her first Pokemon journey. But before she left, she told Alice she might consider it in a year or two when they were both a little older.
With their goodbyes said and done, Lumi set off for New Bark Town to obtain her Pokedex from Prof. Elm. And so, her journey begins...

I'm quite pale, and my skin is sensitive and reddens easily and quite deeply, be it due to too much sunlight, the harsh cold, or something that'd make me blush. My eyes are a deep, grayish blue color and my hair is completely black. It's also long, straight and shiny. It comes not too much past the middle of my back. My build is extremely slender and I'm very petite - I only stand at about 5'3", maybe 5'4". If I had to describe myself in one word, it would definitely be dainty. My features are very elegant, delicate, and graceful.
My favorite color is definitely white, the color of pure snow. Most of my wardrobe consists of white-colored clothes and accessories. Sometimes I will also wear very, very pale colors like pale pinks and blues. And occasionally I will wear gold if it's jewelry or accessories. My favorite outfit is a pair of white skinny jeans that are adorned with a gold design on the left thigh. With it, I wear a very pale pink button-up shirt. Over-top of that, I have my absolutely favorite white sweater with fur trim around the bottom and around the hood. I wear it with almost any outfit, unless it's too hot (where I come from though, it never gets that warm). I wear white lace-up boots over top of the skinny jeans. Because my skin is so sensitive and my hands are dainty as well, I prefer to wear white gloves with my outfits. Not only do I find it fashionable, but it's practical for me as well since I never have to get my hands dirty.
XXXXXXXXXX↪ There's more to me than meets the eye
Like my appearance, you could probably consider my personality dainty as well, in the sense that I'm quite finicky and fastidious. "Cleanliness is close to godliness" - a popular phrase and also one of my mottos. I don't like getting my hands dirty (literally...hence the gloves). Although it's my dream to be a Pokemon Master, everything will have its downsides and obstacles. For me, it's the idea of "roughing it" on a cold, dirt floor in nothing but a sleeping bag for the next year or two...
I'm also quite fussy about minor details - a perfectionist, if you will. I pay close attention to details and you'll find my training (or anything I do, for that matter) is always very thorough. I take my work seriously, mind you. But that's what will set me apart from all the rest and help me rise to the top and be the best.
On that note, I guess I must admit I am a little snobbish at times. I tend to think as myself superior to others. I'm from a higher-class family, so it's just the way I was raised. But as haughty as I may be, I don't really find anything wrong with the way I am. Because it is the way I am, and if you want to be around me then you'll just have to deal with it. Though, I'll admit I don't really have many people I can call friends in my life...I wonder if my personality has anything to do with that? Perhaps, if I met someone worth keeping around, I could try to refrain from my normal behavior for the sake of developing a relationship with somebody...
While I'm spilling my guts here, I suppose I should also mention my little soft spot. Yes, I did admit above that I'm not the most pleasant person to be around. However, that's not all there is to me. Under the surface, way deep down...I truly and sincerely care about Pokemon. It's my one weakness, you could say (though, I hardly consider caring about Pokemon to be a weakness). I can't bear seeing Pokemon being mistreated and I have no problem voicing my opinion on the matter as well as taking action, regardless of the risks or consequences to myself.

I don't say much, but I follow Lumi around loyally. I'd protect her with my life if I had to, but generally I don't prefer to fight. Normally, you can just find me snuggling up next to Lumi, or riding along on her shoulders.

xxNicoline is Lumi's mother. She's a respectable woman, and has a very serious and unemotional demeanor. She's a woman of few words, but a real beauty nonetheless. There's no question where her girls received their good looks. Nicoline originally comes from Snowpoint City in the Sinnoh region. She's well-accustomed to the cold weather. Compared to Snowpoint, Mahogany Town is much warmer. She moved to Mahogany shortly after getting married. Nicoline was never a Pokemon trainer when she was younger, but she did dabble in Pokemon Contests a few times. In fact, more than just dabble - the times she competed she was actually quite good. She even has the ribbons to prove it. Her old Pokemon companion from back then - a Froslass - still lives with the family to this day. They don't do much competing anymore, however.

xxNoèmie is Lumi's older sister by three years. She has an extremely controlling personality as the big sister and all. She treats Lumi and Alice as if they were her own daughters, babying and scolding them alike. Lumi can't stand her older sister's overbearing personality, and Alice doesn't pay her any mind. Noèmie also seems to treat Alice a lot nicer anyway. With Lumi, however, isn't that far apart in age; this leads to much conflict, competition, jealousy, etc. between the two sisters. Noèmie would never admit to this, however, and Lumi would just brood about it to herself. Their parents didn't do anything regarding their relationship with each other either and so the girls became bitter towards each other. Noèmie can be sickeningly sweet as often as she is overbearing. She never had any trouble making friends in school with her personality.
✖ Alice Reynolds
xxAlice is Lumi's little sister, and the baby girl of the family. She's only nine years old and still lives at home. She wants to travel the world like her big sisters, possibly doing something with Pokemon. She's considered breeding, but would prefer to try different things before she decides for sure. Alice doesn't strive for perfection like her older sisters either. She could really care less what people think of her or if she doesn't succeed at everything she does. Because of that, she gets along very well with both her sisters (there is no worry of competition or jealousy among them as there is between Lumi and Noèmie). Alice is a sweetheart, and it's hard to believe that her personality is so unlike the rest of her family. But out of the three sisters, she looks the most like their mother. With her curly blonde hair and blue eyes, she's practically the mirror image of her.

xxRobyn is Noèmie's red-headed childhood friend. They grew up together, went to school together, and basically did everything else together. Lumi isn't really friends with Robyn at all, but she knows her well enough, since was always around. Lumi even likes her more than her own sister. She's nicer, for one. And she often kept Noèmie busy enough to keep her out of Lumi's hair. Because she and Noèmie are the same age, the two girls started Pokemon journeys at the same time and traveled together. Lumi always wondered how Robyn could stand being around Noèmie so much without her getting on her nerves. Noèmie is the dominant person in their friendship and tends to even boss Robyn around sometimes. But Robyn is so laid-back, none of it ever seemed to really bother her and she's never complained to anyone about Noèmie's constant company. As far as Lumi knows, the two older girls are still traveling together.
