During the second trip to Beast's Castle, the main doors of the Entrance Hall unlock, allowing Sora to access two more areas, the Courtyard, full of fighting gargoyles, and the Bridge, where the final confrontation with Xaldin takes place.

 Almost by a gust of demonic wind, Vanity appeared sitting in his usual cross legged manor ontop of a gargoyle that sat arched above the large doors that lead into the castle. Crows circling above his pale and gray head. He sat re-polishing his black nails. He smiled at how they glimmered in the light of the frightningly pale moon. Vanity didnt speak or make a sound he just sat and waited....waited for someone or something to show.

Unable to hold the portal of darkness he had called to travel in, Ryu had to make a fast decision. There was no way he was going to be able to take the time he wanted to scope out the next landing place and where, he was going to have to just pick and crash land. Feeling, more than seeing, a good spot, he connected the portal to it's space, a darkness portal opening in another foreign land. Out stummbled Ryu, his face slightly flushed from the effort he had to exert just to get here. Panting, the pale boy haunched over, placing his hands on her knees to catch his breath. After a few minuets of this, he dragged his hand across her forehead, the small beads of sweat that had formed there wetting his forearm. Yellow orbs flickered to and fro as he inspected his surroundings. Where he was, he had no idea. Something caught his eyes, a large door attatched to a dingy and dark looking castle that had once probably been incredible but had fallen into hard times.
"What a dump..."
He said aloud, his voice echoing in the empty courtyard he had found himself in.

"Hey thats my future home your talking about!" Vanity's voice echoed out down to the exhausted boy. He then jumped down from the gargoyle, spinning and flipping letting the night breeze carry him down. He landed elegantly infront of him. "So we meet again,ay?" Vanity rustled the boys hair figuring it would irritate him.

Ryu's eyes widened extremely as that all to familiar voice echoed in the surroundings, seeming to enclose on him as well. Even though Ryu understood that in normal circumstances he should be afraid or irritated he did not really feel anything or draw forth a reaction of sorts to the sudden apperance of the heartless.
"King of the dumps.."
The boy commented, his joke heavy but his expression very stoic as he tried not to flinch away from Vanity's touch. In a smooth move he brushed Vanity's hand off of his head and put a little more distance between the two. This guy was way too clingy.

Vanity frowned then stomped his foot on the cold ground. "Thats Prince of the dumps, thank you!" he said as he through a small fit. "But ill forgive you cause your cute." He winked at Ryu. Vanity didnt know why he enjoyed teasing, Ryu. Maybe because he seemed to be one of the high ranking Heartless like himself around or maybe it was something more about the boy that attracted Vanity. "So what brings you to my neck of the woods?" He asked folding his arms.

Ryu watched him carefully, still feeling a little tense around the heartless who so openly wanted to attack him last time. For some reason, everyone that Ryu had met so far seemed intent on fighting, and this dolt was no different. Coaxing his head to one side, his bands swept across his face, completeley covering one of his eyes. This gave him an even cuter apperance, one of innocence and curiosity. It was like mixing a puppy with an angel. Mulling over his quetion and deciding it wouldn't hurt to tell him most of the truth, Ryu scanned the area once more, his molten gaze shimmering as he looked over another world.
"I fell from heaven."
He teased lightly, never letting his expression slip. It made it a lot funnier to crack jokes with a stright face, it was something that he had always done, even when he was human, it made his sister laugh, especially. Ryu froze in that instance. He had forgotten everything up until now that involved his life prior to falling into darkness and losing his heart. He had a sister. Ryu recalled the raven haired girl that had practically chased him out the window to her room when he had peeked in the last time, she was the reason he had taken the alias Ryu. Maybe she was related to him before.
"Where am I?
Ryu asked, trying to get over his little realization without letting Vanity so much as guess that something was wrong.

Ryu just stared at the heartless, finding it partially eerie the way the moonlight seemed to illuminate his already pale flesh. Ryu was far from 'tan' either, he noticed, looking at his bare arms. Was it a trait all heartless fell into possession when they tried to take human form. Or maybe were Vanity and Ryu more alike than he thoughts. Ryu turned his response over and over in his mind until he had engraved this place into his mind so he would not forget. Silently listening to Vanity explain his reasoning for trying to test him awhile back Ryu scoffed. Such a trivial matter. Mulling this over, he figured he had nothing to lose. It was not like there was something important for him to do at the moment anyhow. Nodding his head, he agreed to involve himself in Vanity’s plans.
”On one condition.”
He added, his glowing orbs seeming to sparkle as he pressed his request. If that girl that was following was indeed his sister, Ryu wished to have nothing to do with her. There was a reason that he had succumb so easily to the darkness. His sibling had let him. There was no way he was going to give her the satisfaction of being in his presence. As he thought this over something stirred within him, it was almost like a pang of regret. Do heartless even regret? Pushing that question aside he returned his gaze to Vanity. Enforcing his request with his gaze.
”There is a reason I do not stick around in one place for very long. The moment she shows up I will leave, no matter what. Do not cling when the time comes or I won’t hesitate to make things hard for you in the future.”
He warned. His scowl the only real expression he had produced the entire evening.

Vanity raised an eyebrow when, Ryu said 'she'. Who is 'she'? Vanity thought. But he didnt ponder it to long. He got what he wanted. The support of, Ryu would come in handy. He turned to face the boy. "Good. Once I have seized control you may leave, but you shall of course be welcomed to visit at any time you want, dear."
Vanity's crows started landing at his feet and shoulders. They were steadily consuming him. He smiled at, Ryu before speaking again. "First, I want you to scout this place out. See what and who lives here. Ill be doing some 'work' of my own. When I am done, I will come for you." The crows now working up to Vanity's pale face were crowing and flapping their black wings. "Oh and if you see a drown haired b***h running around, do me a solid hun a capture her. I would like the pleasure of killing her personally." With that the crows scatterd and flew high heading for the top of the castle, each carrying a piece of Vanity.

-----The Gummi Ship zipped through the vast space between worlds. Echoing to a loud stop outside of Beast's castle. The jerk of the ship tossing Serah from her seat, landing face down on the floor. "owwww....maybe I shouldn't drive anymore..." Her hands planted down on the ground as she lifted herself up. Rubbing softly the red spot on her forehead until it subsided. Eyes looking at the window of the Gummi Ship to see the enormous castle before her. "Nice!" She smiled widely as she left the ship, it was time to do some exploring, and she wasn't going to wait forever for them. She rolled nicely across the bridge, the large doors opening as she passed through. "Cool, automated castle." She would then come to the courtyard and make a stop. Eyes looking upwards as she saw a wide array of crows. Not what filthy vermin had she seen before that used crows? That's right, the little nasty that Stryder had fought. Then again, there was no reason to suspect him, he was far to pretty to be caught here. "This. Is. AMAZING!" Her hands shot outwards as she looked at the castle, it must be the most wonderful luxury place. As most castles were, but the Gargoyles gave her some pause. They looked like they may spring to life.

Watching as Vanity made his flashy leave, Ryu let out a long sigh. He was going to have to work for that personality. Hopefully he didn't kill himself in the process. Stretching out his arm, Ryu was just about to call to the darkness to warp himself inside the castle but stopped short when a loud voice echoed in the surroundings. Glancing across his shoulder he narrowed his eyes, clearly annoyed with this newcomer. Another personality like Vanity's and he would rather be eaten. Up against a wall now, Ryu dropped his hand and retracted his antennae. He could not let her know he was a heartless, he was not sure what she herself was yet.
"If you say so.."
Ryu responded, his own voice echoing in the courtyard. Standing there in a relaxed position, he stared the girl down, getting ready to bail if necessary.

----- "huh?..." Her eyes seemed dazed as she heard another voice around her. Fascination brought on by the castle seemed to have distracted her from someone else being there. It would be there she saw a man leaning against a wall. He seemed normal enough, well normal being a very loose term at this point. She spun on her skates to face his direction, a wide smile growing on her as she stared. It'd been a while since she met someone know. "Hey, come over here so I can see you better!" She spoke firmly, the joyfulness of her voice evident with each and every word spoken.

  Landing in the center of the Courtyard Senrai and group arrived at Beast's Castle, the hatch opened with a hiss and out leapt Senrai, stretching wildly and popping his back, "So this is the place eh? Not too shabby." he commented offhandedly.

Ryu had no desire whatsoever about going any closer than necessary towards the perky child. Even though this was what he wanted to do he knew that disguising himself as something other than a heartless was better than anything. Smirking impishly, he shook his head, rubbing the back of his head.
"How do I know you aren't some heartless creature thing?"
He said, keeping his distance still. Before he could really assess the girl, someone in a weird craft of sorts landed dead center of the courtyard, blocking his view from the girl. Mild curiosity, Ryu watched a boy and hopped out into the center, stretching without a care in the world. Did Vanity know there were so many people coming here? Ryu was not weak, at least he liked to think so but even the strongest fighters could go down if there were too may to handle.
"Really? This place look like a dump to me..."
Ryu said, grumbling. There was really no draw this castle had other than the magic it had around it. Vanity, that girl and this strange boy were all possessed by it. Ryu would not succumb to that draw.
