-=The Borderlands=-The planet of Pandora. Lured by its apparent vast deposits of minerals, several colonization ships journey to the planet and create a society there. However, they soon discover that there is little else of value on the planet except for the presence of alien ruins. Those who are rich enough to do so left the planet, leaving the rest of the population to scavenge for their living. While some isolated settlements were formed, much of the rest of the colonists became bandits, living out in the barren wastelands or trash heaps across the planet. Further investigation of the otherworldly artifacts lead to the discovery of "The Vault" – a supposed treasure trove of alien artifacts, technology, and of innumerable wealth – but those that had discovered it were wiped out by a protective force, leaving few clues as to its location or purpose while a myth was born of its marvelous treasures.
In the wastelands that is Pandora, Vault Hunters, mercenaries and others face the growing threat of a group called the Crimson Lance. Set to take control of Pandora and use it as a military stronghold for their own ends. Most of the little villages and scattered settlements had no chance and were easily taken over. The only true hold-outs are those owned by bandits. The mercenaries and Vault hunters have either fled the planet or are running for thier lives. Those brave enough to stand up to the force of the Crimson Lance may stand a one in a million chance. And they may well discover that fate has more plans for them..
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
You may choose to be a Vault Hunter, mercenary, Crimson Lance or bandit. You may also have off sub characters for the small settlements. Primary weapons on Pandora are guns. There is a sub section for this elsewhere. For more information on Pandora, go here. Please post character profiles in this thread. I will add them to a seperate post from there. Or you can PM if you like. Its everyone versus the Crimson Lance and the Vault is still up for grabs. Rules are the same as everything else.

=-The Inhabitants of Pandora-=Morrigan Brookes - Mercenary =-=-=-=-=-= BaconiusName : Jason Vizen Age : 21 Height : 5'10'' Weight : 185 pounds Occupation : Vault Hunter Description : For appearance, this picture should cover it (That, and I shall say he has hazel eyes): Jason Jason is a usually shy man who even though enjoys the company of others, doesn't always give off the impression of so. He recently came to Pandora in search of the Vault due to his financial situation. Right now, all he knows of the planet is that there is a group called the Crimson Lance which he has been told to treat like police officers (Which means be polite and respect their authority), and that the planet has dangerous people and creatures. Weapon : Jason's starting weapons are a scoped, burst fire combat rifle, and a rapid fire machine pistol. Background : Jason used to work as a business man. Although he was a superior to many of his employees, he still essentially just followed the orders his boss gave to him. He has always been more of a follower, which became a big problem for him when the company he worked for went under. After weeks of thought and preparation, he decided to travel to Pandora in search of the one thing that could secure his financial future, the Vault. Leaving home wasn't hard for Jason, since the only thing that was left for him was a woman he had a small crush on, but he never really talked to her about it. Very shortly after Jason made it to Pandora, his transportation was hijacked by a group of mercenaries who promptly took off in it. Jason still has no idea what happened to those mercenaries. =-=-=-=-=-= Kill it Dead Name : Clyde Greene Age : 24 Height : 6'1'' Weight : 192 lbs Occupation : Vault Hunter Description : Clyde is tall and lanky, carrying out his movements rather sluggishly outside of battle. One of his defining features is his glasses, which are very big and 'dorky' compared to most other glasses that are made for people. His black hair is a little shorter than shoulder length, and very greasy. Clyde wears a plain black shirt with crudely made plates of steel covering his chest, wrists, and biceps. The metal plates are dented and singed in some areas from the heavy usage in battles and during mechanical tune ups. A few holes are even visible in the plates from bullets that were shot at him. Clyde's pants are somewhat baggy for comfortableness and his shins, and other valuable places, are guarded by more plate to keep them safe. These plates of steel are in just as good shape as the upper body plates, minus the bullet holes. On the left hip of Clyde's pants, is a small bag of grenades that can only hold two at a time, while on the right hip, Clyde keeps a holster for a revolver, both of these things are kept on a belt that he always wears. On his back, he carries a slender backpack that holds only the essentials, and on the backpack there is a holster that can be changed in a moments notice for a shotgun, sniper rifle, combat rifle, or any other type of gun. He sometimes wears a black bandanna around his mouth to keep insects, dust, and the like away from his mouth when in a vehicle. Personality : Clyde is a very goofy and awkward guy. From the way he talks to the way he walks, Clyde does everything in a cartoonish fashion, with long, exaggerated movements that should belong to a cartoon character. In fact, there is a small rumor among the people that know Clyde, and it is that Clyde inhaled too much toxic fumes from the time he worked in a mechanics shop, and now he is permanently damaged. Clyde seems to make friends wherever he goes because of his way of looking and acting like a fool. Rarely is Clyde serious outside of battle, but when in battle, the emotions he feels are the exact opposite of the ones he normally experiences away from combat. But, he does shout for victory when the battle is over with (if he won). Weapon : Clyde loves combat rifles, especially with a high fire rate. Revolvers are also great, but he prefers to have higher damage than a fire rate with his revolver than with his combat rifle(s). In Clyde's right sleeve, there is a small pocket that he can unzip in a split second, and out tumbles a 4 inch combat blade (which he is somewhat a 'pro' at using). Background : Clyde has lived on Pandora for years, even after his parents left twenty years ago. It is his birth place and he believes it to be a thing of beauty although he never really ventured out of his town until about two months ago, when he started to go after the Vault. He had always wanted riches, and if he did get the riches, he could pay mercenaries to come and help him rid the land of the bandits. Also, he could bring his family back to Pandora and have them live in luxury. Now, Clyde just walks the road of Pandora, continually searching for any leads to the Vault's whereabouts. Theme : Loser by Beck

((Officially open for joining biggrin !)) Morrigan The snarling of Skags mixed with the whooping of the Bandits, gunfire ringing out across the rocky expanse. The young mercenary clutched her rifle close to her chest, crouched behind a boulder with her eyes squeezed shut as chips of rock rained on her head from opposing fire. Curse Taylor, curse him to hell! The mess she found herself in now was all his fault, she'd get him back for this. The onslaught of bullets halted on her boulder for a moment, the dying sound of Skags could be heard mixed in instead of their usual snarling. Bringing her rifle up in front of her, Morrigan slowly raised herself up against the boulder, peering down the sites and taking careful aim. When the last Skag died she fired. She got one of the bandits right through the shoulder. 'HAHA!' Shouting and the barrage of bullets returned seconds later. 's**t!' She dropped back down behind her boulder, cursing at the tiny scrape she now had on her shoulder from a well placed shot. Unusual for bandits. Her runner wasn't far away. Perhaps she could make it. It wasn't worth a shot when all thier fire was concentrated on her.

Dust blew by as a bus pulled up on the sun light rode. "Alright everybody, get off the bus" Marcus said. The few people left on the bus got off. Among these people was a young man name Jason Vizen. He had an assault rifle strapped to his back and a machine pistol within his jackets inner right pocket. The rest of the people slowly formed groups and left, leaving Jason alone for himself. After taking a few steps he heard the sound of a machine moving a small wheel. "Hello Stranger!", yelled the local CL4P-TP, "Welcome to Fyrestone. Jason got a good chuckle out of the robot's existence. "Well, here I am, Fyrestone" he said to himself. "Time to start this search... somewhere" Jason decided to start his search at the local ammunition store. ((I will start doing posts that attempt to find your character soon enough)) ((Edit: I felt like trying the Center function. It looks sort of nice))

Clyde Greene
Clyde climbed among the rocks, sometimes slipping, trying to get away from the bandits that were much more swiftly than he was with climbing. The bandits were waving their hand axes with a ferocity as they climbed. Clyde peeked back a few times, and started to freak out, trying to outclass them in climbing, but they were fast, almost upon him. As he got to the top of the pile, Clyde's foot struck a loose pebble, which hit a bandit in the face, stunning 'it' for a moment. When the bandit opened it's eyes again, it saw a rock, about the size of his head, crash into his face When the bandit tumbled downward, his flailing limbs connected with the other bandits, sending them downwards. Their screams reached up to Clyde's ears as he waited at the top, feeling a bit bad for the rock hitting the bandit. Clyde watched as the bandits fell to the ground, their necks and spines violently snapping in two different directions. He didn't mean to kill them like that, it seemed pretty painful, but the fact was, he won. He won.
A small smile crept across his face as he watched the bodies. Suddenly in a display of victory, he yelled out, "Yeah, ya sons a bitches! You don't want this!" His voice had a tinge of southern hospitality. As he said the last sentence, Clyde hit his two hands near his undergarments, a la Nine Toes. Grabbing his revolver, Clyde shot a single round in the air, as if he was the king of the world. Putting the revolver back onto his thigh, Clyde pulled out a small map, and looked at where he was. This map had the position of where he was, and it looked like he was somewhat near- Suddenly, a bullet wizzed by his head and slammed itself into a rock.
Clumsily, he threw the map into his pocket again and accidentally threw his revolver to the ground, which he had to retrieve. Grabbing the revolver, he turned to where the bullet had come from. Now he heard even more bullets, skags, and bandits, and tried to look around. He saw bandits off to the right a little. "Bullet must have ricocheted huh?" Clyde thought as he slid behind a nearby rock to watch the bandits. It was peculiar for bandits to shoot at nothing. As he watched, Clyde slid the combat rifle from it's holster. Resting the barrel on the rock, Clyde saw a shape near the rocks appear. A bullet and a dead bandit later, Clyde concluded that whatever/whoever this was, was his ally now. From Clyde's position, he was looking at the bandit's right shoulders. When the shape disappeared, Clyde held the trigger to his combat rifle down. A hail of bullets came from his rifle as he held it down and fired at the bandits. Soon, most of the bandits had focused their attention to Clyde as he sprayed his hail of bullets at the bandits. One or two fell to his bullets, but the ones farther away were able to dodge the gunfire easily, because of the inaccuracy of the gun. But, that was okay, as long as the other person would kill the bandits.

Morrigan The young woman had her emerald eyes squeezed shut against the flying chips of rock and dust. She was mentally preparing herself to have to look over that rock and shoot at them and try not to die when a new sound came to her ears through the cacophony of noise. Bandit death screams. Her eyes widened a fraction. Bigger scags? Then she frowned. There was no growling or yelping. As the hail of bullets on her ceased, Morrigan took the opportunity to peer over the edge of her cover. At first she couldn't see anything, just the dying bandits. And then something caught her eye. She brought her rifle scope up to her eyes and couldn't help but smirk. Some wierd resident of Pandora? Whatever. This fellow had the attention of the bandits now and without hesitating a moment Morrigan turned and leaped up, holding her rifle close to her chest as she sprinted for her Runner. A few bullets whizzed past her ears, luckily the bandits had terrible aim at this much of a distance. She grinned when she came within a few metres of the vehical. She was going to make it after all. With a deafening roar and a small mushroom cloud to boot, Morrigan's runner exploded, sending her slim frame cartwheeling backwards from the force. Dazed, she looked up from her position on the ground to see a slightly bigger bandit with a grenade launcher running and whooping at her. Idiot thought killing her was that easy. Grumbling she dragged herself up to a crouch, the b*****d still laughing as he ran forward. Her rifle had been flung a good distance away and so she reached for her trusty pistol at her side. She raised it, the barrel pointing straight at the ugly brutes face an squeezed the trigger. Click 'Motherfu-' She managed only that as the bandit raised his launcher at her and she leaped up and sprinted as fast as she could away from him and towards the crazy resident on top of the rocks.

((Sorry, I might have to interrupt the fight a bit anti-climactically)) Jason let out a sigh. Right now, his search had not given much more than stories of a fairy tale proportion about how the vault contained infinite treasures. He got some general ideas of where to head, but that was about the closest thing he could get to a helpful answer. The funny thing was that these "fairy tales" had actually made him more anxious to find this vault, since this really could give him all the money he would need, which was a hell of a lot better than his current, almost broke, position. The town seemed empty of people willing and able to go hunting for the vault, so his next plan of action was to head for the Dahl Headlands. He went out to the near by station to get a car. Apparently, it was free of charge, either by the owner’s generosity, or a glitched machine. Either way, he now was in a nice new free vehicle, so he wasn't complaining. It wasn't like he would have been able to afford one anyway. "Well, I guess this road is sort of relaxing for a desert" Jason said to himself, staring up at the sky and rak instead of the road. Suddenly, his attention was brought back to the road by the sound of a bandit who happened to be standing in the middle of it. "Oh s**t!" Jason exclaimed as he turned as fast as he could, sending him off road, and into a rocky expanse. After bumping around off a few rocks, he got launched off one rock that was in the shape of a ramp. While in the air, he noticed a woman that was running from what appeared to be a man from a rocket launcher. More importantly, however, Jason at this rate was going to crush the man with the rockets. "Look out below!!!" Jason exclaimed as the car flew towards the bandit. Suddenly, with a loud thud, squish, and nice explosion of blood, Jason had managed to survive the fall. Unfortunately, he had also run over the bandit. All Jason could do was flop out of the car, landing face first on the ground. After a moment of silence, he flipped himself over, to stare in horror at what he had just done. "Oh s**t, oh s**t! I killed a man!" He exclaimed, panicking as he tried to back away from the blood. "It was an accident I swear! I didn't mean to! I just fell off the road and he was there! I didn't do anything wrong"

Morrigan The bandits rocket launcher was raised in what seemed like slow motion to Morrigan, his cackling becoming even more manic if that were possible. Then all of a sudden a Runner fell from the sky and the bandit was no more. Blood splattered her face and when she opened her green orbs once again, she saw a strange and slightly bedraggled man flailing about. She quirked and eyebrow at his outburst. Has he never killed a man? She smirked. Silly newcomers. She'd been on Pandora for months now and this day wasn't the first time she been cornered. Though it was unusually worse than the other times. And it was the first time a car had fallen from the sky too. She got up off the ground, grabbing the man by the collar and back up against his car. 'Listen. The man you killed is better off dead sweetheart. Trust me on that. Now. Stay behind your car because there are others.' As if to emphasize the statement a bullet shot ricocheted off the Runners bonnet. She ran out from the Runner and grabbed her rifle from the ground and then made a short sprint back again. Raising her sights once more she took aim at the last three remaining, wondering if that man on the rocks still lived.

Jason was shocked, to say the least when the woman grabbed him by the collar. For a moment, he thought he was going to be killed by her. He was relieved when she let go of him, sending back to his knees. More bullets starting whizzing past Jason, so he did the first thing he could think of. He got up and jumped through the opened to get in the runner, and landed on the other side, only to press his back against the runner. "Who are these people? Why are they shooting at me?" Jason said, not realizing for a moment that Morrigan had made a run for a different spot. He looked up for a moment. "Wait, I think those are... oh s**t" A bullet whizzed right past his head, causing Jason to duck instantly. "Those are bandit. People warned me about those things. I guess this is kill or be killed, but how can I do this?" Suddenly, Jason's gaze was shifted towards the rocket launcher of the man his car crushed. "Well, it's better then my other idea" Jason said, thinking about how he would of just blind fired his machine pistol from behind the car. "Three... two... one!" Jason lunged out, grabbed the rocket launcher, and dived out away from the car. While in the air, he aimed and took a shot at the group of bandits. The rocket missed the bandit by a few inches but nailed the rock behind him. The one bandit flew forward and the others were either crushed or blocked off by the falling rocks. Jason slowly got up, not aware that some of the bandits actually survived and were just blocked temporarily. He held the rocket launcher with only his right hand, resting it on his shoulder. "I-I did it!" He exclaimed as he raised his left fist up in victory.
