So I've got this funny thing, and I guess I'll share. xD
At my school, the first Wednesday of every month is late arrival, meaning school starts 100 minutes later than usual. Now, my bus usually comes at 6:45 AM and on late arrival days it comes at 8:20 or something like that. Usually my parents are home when I leave for school (even if they're sleeping, they haven't left for work yet). However, on late arrival days they've already left for work and I am the last person to leave the house in the morning.
Late arrival was delayed this month so that it could be during Senior Week, so it was this last Wednesday. In the morning, I got up, took a shower, had a muffin, and grabbed my stuff. As I was walking out the door to my bus stop, my dad calls after me, "Alice, don't forget to call me from the bus!!" Now, he NEVER asks me to do this. Needless to say, I completely forgot and as I was turning my phone to silent mode when my bus pulled up to my school, it was already 8:45. I had like ten missed calls from my dad. Suddenly, I remembered. I figured I should call him now. I mean, I was still on the bus anyway, so it counted, right?
Well, I ring him up and he's COMPLETELY panicked. Freaking out!!! He's like, "WHY DIDN'T YOU CALL ME?!!" So I told him that yes, I *did* call him and that I'm still on the bus!! Guess what? Apparently since I called him ten minutes later than he expected he CALLED MY DEAN at school and told me that when I got to school someone was going to track me down to make sure I made it to school.
Usually my parents are overprotective, but this even made my mother laugh. I mean, what?! I'm not the type to ditch school. It's not like I have anything else to do! And it was late arrival; I got to sleep in anyway. And NO ONE misses the bus on late arrival days, ever. I hardly ever miss my bus, anyway!! It was totally uncalled for.
So first period Chemistry is the one class I don't have an A in. Um, I have a D. As soon as my teacher starts explaining this problem I didn't understand from the homework, my dean shows up at the door and drags me down to his office and tells me that he has to call my dad because he's required to by law or whatever and that he thinks it's kind of dumb that he has to, but whatever, he'll do it, and he basically starts ranting and goes on for ten minutes. So by the time I get back to class, I've missed the important problem and I'm basically screwed for that concept. Sigh.
I just thought the whole situation was kind of funny because nothing even happened, I just called my dad ten minutes later and he completely flipped out. xD LAWL! But I love him. My dad's the cool parent. He just does stuff like this sometimes.
