My friend got me thinking that maybe steve isn't as bad as we think. What do you say? Is steve a bad guy or just another person who fell into Mr. Tiny's evil plan.

It's hard to tell because he was,in the beginning,kinda weird and i don't think he know Mr.tiny wen he said he was going to kill Darren some day...but who knows right...

This has been a topic ever since my friends and I finished the series. I feel bad for Steve more than anything, however, I believe it is a bit of both. The thing is about Steve, he is influenced easily, and has rather a short temper that usually gets the best of him. These qualities worked in Tiny's favor, he used him, Steve's own emotions being the strings on which Tiny had him bound.
However that does not mean he is completely innocent. He did several cruel things of his own free will without needing Tiny to guide him, for instance, Shancus' death.
This is a very extensive topic. It really all depends on the opinion of the reader, it could be seen both ways.
I, personally, like to believe that it wasn't all Steve's fault. There were several events that led up to his immoral actions, but those several events were all set in motion by Tiny.
I guess its certainly a topic that's open for debate.

It's a great topic for debate.
Steve defiantly had some demons, hatred he held for Darren after being "betrayed" over those years really I think has more of a hand in his twisted being than Tiny. Mr. Tiny was just the b*****d with the master plan or blueprint behind the scenes.

I think it's little of both, too. Yeah, Steve got warped into Mr. Tiny's plans, but...he was sorta a mis-behaved kid in the first place...and he hated his mother, and his father left him, and Darren was his...errm, Half-Brother(Because of Mr. Tiny.)/Best friend and they were close...but when he found out Darren turned into a vampire, he was betraying him. :l
I still hate him, though. xDD
