Here, we will discuss set/block abilities of cards, simple or complicated. In the current standard format we have:

Exalted - Whenever a creature you control attas alone, that creature gets +1/+1 until end of turn.

Cycling X - X, Discard this card: Draw a card.

Unearth X - X: Return this card from you graveyard to play. It gains haste. Remove it from the game at end of turn or if it would leave play. Unearth only as a sorcery.

Devour X - As this comes into play, you may sacrifice any number of creatures. This creature comes into play with X times that many +1/+1 counters on it.

Kicker X - You may pay an additional X as you cast this spell.

Domain - (effects vary, but are based umong the number of basic land types you own)

Cascade - When you play this spell, remove cards from the top of your library from the game until you remove a nonland card that costs less. You may play it without paying its mana cost. Put the removed cards on the bottom in a random order.

Landfall - (effects vary, but are based on when a land is played)

Multikicker X - You may pay an additional X any number of times as you cast this spell.

Traps - (effect vary, but they become better if something else was triggered for its condition.)

Upcoming abilities:

Totem Armor - If enchanted creature would be destroyed, instead remove all damage from it and destroy this card.

Annihilator X - Whenever this creature attacks, defending player sacrifices X permanents.

Level up X - X: Put a level counter on this. Level up only as a sorcery.

Rebound - If you cast this spell from your hand, exile it as it resolves. At the beginning of your next upkeep, you may cast this card from exile without paying its mana cost.

Okay, that's all of 'em (I think). Now, if theres questions as to how certain cards work (i.e. Silence) you can ask that here as well.

Silence, to be 100% effective, must be played before your opponent draws. In casual games, it may not matter, but in tourneys, your opponent can argue and win.

Now... Discuss!

Ah well, it can be something to work on.
If you'd think it helpful, I also have a list (somewhere...it may take some searching, once classes stops trying to kill me) of the colors each ability typically appears in, if you think that would be helpful, and that one is complete up to Alara.

Question: What's everyone's favorite ability?
I'm not sure about legacy, but it's Cascade for me in standard. That ability was ridiculous in the Alara Reborn pre-release, and I think it adds a charming extra level of randomness to the game.
