Amilia walked to the lake, of the few places that her father has no surveillance over. She threw rocks into water without holding back her strength. They flew right across the lake and onto the land at the other side. Silent tears ran down her face. For once she wanted to be anyone but her father's daughter. A pack of carrots lay beside her in the dirt. It was the food she grabbed from the fridge, but she had lost her appetite. She continued to throw rocks at the other side of the lake when a rabbit came and joined her. It's eyes were fixed on the carrots. Amilia took out a piece and beckoned the rabbit to come closer. It hopped over and started nibbling on the carrot. She didn't want to eat any of it so she just lay the carrots on the ground for the rabbit to eat. She silently left the rabbit and walked to her room.

I stomped out of the facility heading in no particular direction, just away. I felt like everyone, even Mark, was in on this joke about my brother. It was making me so... mad.
Trees closed in around me as I followed this trail. Eventually, it opened up to this lake. It was quite beautiful. I took a deep breathe and laid down on the grass. I knew I wouldn't be able to stay here long. Mark and I spent too much time apart already today. I was now starting to feel that weakness return.
"I'll head back in just a minute" I said to myself. I knew that Greg, Mark, and Amilia probably didn't mean anything; it was just my emotions getting the better of me. "I'll have to apologizes to them."

"Zack! Zack!" She called out his name again and again. Amilia had already checked the beach and found nothing, if Greg was right he should be here... "ZACK!" Amilia stopped at the edge of the lake, her eyes searched the area but she didn't see him standing near the lake. Where could he be? "ZACK!" She tried calling out his name one more time, hoping that she would get a response.

Was someone calling me? I sat up, and did a quick scan. My eyes landed on Amilia. "Amilia, I'm right here."

Amilia's eyes found Zack. She was so stupid to not have checked the grass. Confusion was clear on her face as she studied him. He looked good enough... Was she wrong about their separation limits? It doesn't matter, at least he was okay. She silently walked towards him and sat herself next to him. "My favorite time of the day..." Her eyes were averted to the sky as it was tinged with an orange glow, telling her that the day was almost at an end. To her the sky was a painting that is ever-changing.
After a while of silence she decided to bring up the one question that might ruin the moment, "You willing to share? You can say no if you don't want to. I understand the whole keep to yourself thing, personal stuff you want to be kept a secret. I mean I-" At this point she realized that she was babbling on and almost slipped something off her tongue. Her eyes fell to the ground. "I think I'll stop talking now."

Greg nervously walked to the lake, and scanned the grass. Spying Amilia and Zack, he turned without a sound, and left for his dorm.

I watched the sky as Amilia talked. I agreed with her; it was very beautiful. I winced as a sudden shot of pain ran through me. The side effects of being separated from Mark were growing stronger. I tried ignoring it as Amilia continued to talk.
After she finished, there were a few moments of silence before I finally explained. "I... I'm sorry for taking off like that. My emotions... they get the better of my sometimes."
I turned to look at her, gazing into her amber eyes. I quickly turned back to the sunset. "My brother... he and I were close. But... after my parents were... killed; we were split up. I promised him... I would always be there for him. He was all the family I had left... and I... couldn't keep my promise."

Me and David had made our way to the lake with Greg's helpful advice. We had stopped, just a bit before where the tree line met the grass, out of sight of Zack and Amilia. We had both heard what Zack had said, but somehow, it didn't make me feel any better. When I looked over at David, I could see it had struck a cord, his eyes were watering.

Amilia looked over at Mark, and another boy. Who was that, and why was he crying? "Well, I think Mark has something to show you then." She stood up and waved goodbye. "I'll be in my room if you need me."

After Amilia walked passed, I walked out of the bushes and over to Zack. I stared out and watched the sun set, then sat down beside him, without uttering a word. After a few minutes, I turned and looked at him, "I... feel like I need to... apologize... so, I'm sorry..." I turned away and stared back out at the lake, "I knew your brother was a touchy subject, and I shouldn't have tried to make you stay and listen... but I don't think Greg meant to make you angry."

I watched as the sun continued to dip down, almost out of view. The red and orange sky was turning dark. I turned to Mark and sighed, "I know he didn't, and... I know you didn't mean to either. I'm sorry for running off like that. It was... very childish of me. And by looking at the state we're in... it was pretty stupid of me too."
I waited in the bushes like Mark had asked. He wanted to talk to Zack first before 'introducing' me. "Come on" I whispered. I was never very patient.

Me and Zack had fused ourselves back together, and were feeling much better. I turned my head to look at the bushes, and waved my hand. Zack gave me a confused look, but I didn't say anything. It was going to be a surprise.

I quietly observed Mark and Zack talk. As they talked, they seemed to get closer and closer together. It was a shock when I realized they had become the two-headed guy I saw from before. "So... that's what Mark meant. I guess they really can't spend too much time apart." Finally, Mark gave the signal.
"Yes" I quietly cheered. I quickly stood up, and brushed off the dirt. I slowly walked forward. All my nervousness seemed to elevate with every step.
I gave Mark a funny look. What was he hiding? His head was in the way, so I couldn't see past him very well. Thats when I noticed... a boy. He seemed anxious about something. Once he got to the point where I could see him clearly, I couldn't breathe. Our heart felt like it had stopped. Standing in front of me was... "David!"

Even though David wasn't my brother, and I had already seen and met him, I could still feel the same joy that Zack was experiencing. Even though Zack was so shocked he couldn't move, I knew that he'd like to give his little brother a hug, so I did my best to lift us off the grass and take a step towards David.
