User ImageCyan colored eyes slowly opened for the first time in years of slumber and confinement. His vision was nothing more than a mass of blurs that was slowly ebbing away and giving in to clarity. With a few blinks, his eyes were aglow and he came to floating up and away from his resting place. Halting suddenly, the male looked around with confusion. How in the world had he gotten here, the last he remembered before going into a forced hibernation was...

They must have brought him here when all had been said and done. A smile curled onto his lips and he inhaled deeply, scenting the air for all the scents that danced on the currents of the breeze. He could smell the sweet perfumes of the flora and the moisture of the lakes and ponds that were some distance away. The moment his feet touch the ground, he could feel the energy that was coursing through the earth. This brought to him a sense of familiarity...and it was no wonder.

The energy of his children were entwined in this place and that brought a sigh of relief from his lips. At least they were well. Again he took to looking around and with each movement he made, the sun bounced off his crystal like skin and the constellations within him changed to something new. Nothing was ever the same when it came to him, not a single thing. Making up his mind, he thought it best to move on and explore the area.

Moving forth, he slowly seemed to deteriorate and join the passing breeze only to materialize in a new location. This method of travel repeated it's cycle until he came to sit and rest.

User Image.....Drip.

.....Drip.

.....Drip.

The dark blue scales of a serpent's tail glinted in the sun. The long tail lay coiled loosely atop a flat rock. No serpent was this as was apparent by the black crystals with the dim blue glow that grew from the spine of the creature. Following the tail would reveal the thin and pale body of a male humanoid. A naga. His eyes were closed as if in sleep, his lips slightly parted. All signs pointed to a creature simply resting... Save for the stench of blood in the air and the steadily trickling river of strikingly red blood coming from the boy's arms. A small pool had already gathered at the rock's base and was growing ever so slowly. Self inflicted? Very possible. But why? Whatever the cause, he had not been disturbed for some time... No one was out to find him...

During his rest, his being suddenly felt as if dread wrapped her cold arms around him, pulling the veil of a sombre mood over his eyes. Something was not right at all, but why? He knew not the answer, however he was very sure he'd soon find out, especially when the scent of blood danced in his nose. Without a moments hesitation, he focused on the scent and went to it without question not once stopping until he came to his destination.

Hovering a few inches above the ground and some feet away from the naga, his eyes finally fell upon his form. Almost immediately he noticed the pool of blood that was quickly growing, but that was more than likely because he was looking for the source of the scent. Carefully and somewhat slowly, he approached so not to alarm the being in case he was actually feigning sleep and once close enough, he reached out and placed a smooth and gentle hand on his cuts, analyzing each one. No...this most certainly wouldn't do at all.

Moving back, he then stood to his full height and extended his arms out to his sides. Through pruced lips, he inhaled deeply and for some strange reason it caused for the nagas hair to moved about his face as if it were being sucked in that direction. Slowly but surely his wounds were closing and for each wound that closed on the Naga, a crack would appear on the one that looked to be made from the cosmos. It was a painful process, for the healer that his, but it was worth it.

He could see so much potential inside the young one as well as the great things that would come from his so he'd not let his energy dwindle away and leave the confines of the flesh just yet.

Inky blackness. As far as the eye could see. This was the end. Oblivion. He would finally find peace. No one could find him. He had made sure of that. After all, no one would miss him for quite some time yet still. By then he would have long since been dead. He could feel himself floating almost. And it would have brought a smile to his lips....if it weren't for the sudden strangely warm and prickly feeling in his wrists. What was that? Why now? The sensation was pulling him back. Back to reality. Back into that world which had given him nothing but suffering his entire life through. He could feel the rock beneath him now. Hard and uncomfortable but warm from the sun.

Bright aqua-blue eyes slowly opened. For a moment he saw nothing, then a large dark blur before him. Was that...a person? He tried to focus his sight on the wrist he could see. The warm, prickly sensation was that of his wounds sealing themselves. He stared at the closing flesh as if it were not his own, tears slowly gathering, then trickling from his eyes.

"....No...."

No...Not again.... Every time. Every single time. Some people couldn't be saved. Some people were just meant to die young. Not Nori. Nori's every single attempt to simply slip into the peaceful darkness of death was always stopped. Even when others meant to murder him, or when and accident befell him, he was always saved. WHY? Why was he meant to suffer? With so much blood lost he was too weak to stop whoever was doing this. Instead he lay there, unable to move...but unable to die.

Soon enough, the process of healing was complete. The cosmos colored entity felt a great deal of pain and his energy somewhat depleted but he was far from finished. The ever changing stars displayed on his body grew brighter with each passing second and a display of shooting stars zoomed passed in rapid succession. His inhalation had stopped and shortly after he exhaled, a white mist leaving his lips and floating over to the naga that lay still because of the energy he lacked.

The white mist soon landed on his skin, feeling cool at first, but as it entered his body it radiated the warmth of the energy it was replenishing him with. All the while images flashed within his minds eyes, hinting him as to who his savior was. When all was said and done, a light thud echoed in the air as the cosmic one fell to the ground on his hands and knees. He was breathing hard and beads of sweat dripped down from his brow. That had taken a lot out of him surprisingly which he deducted was for the fact that though he'd been resting for so long, he'd not fully recovered from what had forced him into sleep in the first place.

The Naga shut his eyes at the cool touch. As it sunk into him, warming him and revitalizing he sobbed. All his careful planning, the bother of going so deep into the forest. All of it for nothing. The information on his savior slipped into his mind unbidden. He tried to reject it, to return it, but he didn't know how. Against his will he was revitalized back to near perfect health and he dug his claws into the rock beneath him in impotent rage.

Tears streaming down over the tell-tale markings on his face, he glared at the incredible being before him, the dull glow in his crystals now a vibrant blue.

"Why?! Who asked you to save me?! Why is even my death eternally denied to me?! You could've turned a blind eye to all this and just walked on! Why didn't you?!" His arms were shaking with rage as he half sat-up, supporting himself on his arms.

"To move on would have been irresponsible...to...to have let you die before you ascended to her full potential...would have been wrong. Today is not your time to pass young one..." Though his breathing was labored, his voice remained surprisingly smooth between breaths. When he moved to push himself up from his knees, the cracks in his crystal skin spread forcing a small chunk out from his left arm and onto the grown.

In surprise and pain he let out a yelp before falling onto the ground completely and cradling his arm. So this was what pain felt like...an unpleasant feeling it was yet all the while fascinating. He could now understand why the naga was so angry with him. However, this was a part of life and it was to be pushed back and made to make you stronger than what you were before hand.

"Nori...death is not as peaceful as you'd like to believe it to be. It can be more painful than life because in death, it is no longer your flesh exposed to the chaos of this endless galaxy but your inner core which is far more sensitive and fragile than you could possibly imagine."

The naga continued to glare at him as he spoke. It wasn't fair! He was never in control of his own life! Of his own fate! He couldn't even read his own future without it being disgustingly vague. He bared his fangs, about to speak, when the one before him yelped in pain and grabbed his arm. A chunk had broken off of him. The scene reminded him of his own cracks and one hand unbiddingly drew up to caress one of the deep cracks in the crystal at his chest. He frowned and drew himself up, slithering forward to help him.

"Can be. That's the point. If you got any information about me from what you just did like I got on you, then you know it's a gamble I'm willing to take. I've got nothing to lose... Absolutely nothing. And my potential has long since been wasted... I have nothing left but a life of abuse and servitude."

"I know of your trials and I have felt your pain, but you only have a life of abuse and servitude because you allow it to be so." He did not reject the help that was coming to him, instead he welcomed it. "Your potential has not been wasted...no, it just has not been nurtured properly. Instead of being taught the true ways, you've been led to rely on material objects like the other mortals...humans have come to use. I see a power in you that is just waiting to blossom....I couldn't let something like that pass."

His eyes looked away from his wounds and took to looking over Nori. The scars were still there...but at least he was healthy once again. "If it is purpose you want in your life...if it is ascension you seek, I can help you grab hold of your dreams and make it into a reality..."

The words held his heart like a vice grip. His immediate reaction was to not believe him. But from whatever it was that he'd done to heal him, he now knew just what ramifications were at risk here. Infinite wouldn't just say petty things like that. Not if what he'd learned was true. But....could he dare hope? Could he even muster up enough belief?

He sighed and kept his gaze towards the ground. "My life, save for the first two decades there abouts, has all been lived as a slave of some kind. What you're asking is for me to shed everything I've been told, and learned, and lived my whole life. To have hope, to believe you, and to believe in myself enough to take you up on your offer. Do you have any idea how much I can't believe you? How damaged I am? How much it hurts to even have it offered?"

"If you do not shed all that you once were, all that you were taught, you'll not have the strength needed to do what must be done to reach the goal you seek. You did die here on this rock. Let go of the life that led up to that point and start your life again, born renewed. I know that to trust me will be no easy feat for one who has been broken time and time again, but given time...all that was broken will be renewed. The final choice however is yours. I can not make the decision for you. If you really want your goal to be within your reach, it is up to you to take the first steps.

I ask for nothing in return, for I need for nothing nor want for anything....no, I do want something and that is for you to see your dreams become reality. Who better to teach you Nori? A mortal who is blind to the threads of fate that is intricately woven within this cosmos, or a being that was, is and always will be?"

Let go...of everything... The fear gripped him like he knew it would, but Infinite's wisdom was strength. He was right. Why should he go on like this? Why should he care about this old life? Even if Infinite was lying to him, going with him was still a better option than staying here... To leave everything behind and basically be reborn....

He took a calming breath and nodded, looking up at Infinite. "I...I'll g-go with y-you." His voice shook as he spoke, but he kept a determined look in his eyes.

A smile curled onto his lips and with a bit of difficulty, he stood but continued to look to Nori with a comforting look. "Good, we'll not waste time. It is best that we go somewhere that is more secluded and cut off from outside influence. The best place to be had is atop the mountains." Still holding his smile, he held out his hand for Nori to take. No sense in going the long way, why not just travel with the winds? Doing so would give Nori a glimpse of what was in store for him.

As he stood there waiting, a gentle breeze blew past and Infinite closed his eyes, a state of calm and comfort enveloping him. The chunk of his arm that was missing had reformed and his energy seemingly returned to him. "Thank you my sweet Gaia..." His eyes opened again and he looked to Nori. "Soon you will come to hear the voices of all that is around you and you will find your place instead the life stream of the cosmos."

He could visibly see his getting revitalized... Actually see it. The chunk which had broken off had already been healed and fixed! It amazed the young Naga. He all but stared in awe at the hand reaching out to him.

With his help.... I'll perfect my abilities....actually achieve that which I should be... be able to take my place in the cosmos... If he failed.... He wouldn't even be able to fathom it if he failed... He hesitated a moment more before sliding his hand into his.

"I only hope, I make you proud... That you have not wasted your efforts in taking me under you wings..."

"Oh but young one, you have already made me proud by taking your life back and putting yourself in the state of control." He held onto Nori's hand and rubbed the back of it with his thumb gingerly. Turning his head away from him he stare ahead of them at the mountains that waited for them in the distance.

"Your first trial has already begun. Tell me, what is the quickest path to take to those mountains, that will get us to the summit of the mountain in less than a day?" Infinite already knew that the naga would look to him with eyes wide a saucers with the question he asked and so he gave him a small hint. "Do not focus on the obvious path for your eyes can see the road before you. Remember, there are many paths that one can not see for it has no distinct look or feature but it is a path none the less."
