x ~ The Summary ~ x
The year is 2064. Azure City is the trading capital of the Western Hemisphere and home to millions. The city enjoys state-of-the-art technology, a flourishing nightlife, and endless resources. Living in the city is expensive, so those in the downtown area are nowhere near the poverty line.
The poverty really strikes in the outskirts of the city. This is the area that the government of Azure is trying desperately to clean up. No one really knows what goes on here because no one ventures into the outskirts, or the "messy areas" as the citizens refer to them.
There are various different types of civilians - The usual citizens who wake up in the morning, go to work, do their job and come home to their families. There are the Quivers, an elite police force established to take care of some unknown force at work in Azure City. No one really knows why the government established this task force, and a Quiver is always undercover. They meet at night at an unknown location and do not often carry out missions during the day.
Then there are the Rogues, who are the mythical scourge of Azure City. Most believe them to be a children's story, told to the city's youth to keep them from going out at night. But no one knows who they are, really. It is said that they are inhuman demons, and those who claim to have seen them or come into contact with them are written off as insane.
But there's something else wrong with Azure city - people are dying. The Rogues are acting up. What will you do? What role will you choose?

x ~ The Players ~ x
You can create one of three types of characters: A Civilian, a Quiver, or a Rogue. Quivers all have some kind of special ability (a talent/skill or special power) and Rogues are inhuman.
x ~ Rogues ~ x
A Rogue can be any of the following races. They only come out at night and live in the outskirts of the city. Each race has its own area of the outskirts.
x ~ Fae ~ x Also known as “faeries”, Fae have their own sub-categories. All fae cannot come into direct contact with iron. Thankfully, in this day and age, iron is not commonly used in manufacturing.
Pixies - Winged, sarcastic and often glamoured (disguised) as humans or invisible, pixies have a strong sweet tooth and knack for causing mischief. They can change their appearance at will and enjoy messing with humans. However, they usually don’t bother with really dangerous pranks; sometimes they’ll take switch the decaf with the regular at the local café or pull your hair from behind, but they’re not interested in causing any real damage.
Elves - Elves are also often glamoured as humans, but they can also disguise themselves as trees and various large plants. They actually have long, pointed ears and wide, bright eyes. They also have long hair and fingers, and are often over six feet tall. They have a strong sense of right and wrong, but not all elves opt for what’s right. There are Dark Elves and Light Elves, and they each have their own factions within Rogue society. They dislike cramped spaces and enjoy strong wine and being social. Dark Elves like to mess with humans and Light Elves choose to keep their distance from humans. Dark Elves spend a lot of time in night clubs and make their way into human social circles, often seducing humans and playing dangerous pranks such as injuring humans and disguising themselves as certain people. Light Elves keep to themselves.
Goblins - Goblins are not often glamoured as humans because they have no need to be; the only difference between goblins and humans appearance-wise are their slightly pointed ears and occasionally hooked noses. Goblins are intelligent and excellent craftsmen. They often live in small, well-decorated, underground holes and they can’t tolerate filth. They are wise and solemn, and most are good dancers. They try to keep out of human society.
x ~ Demons ~ x Demons are considered to be the "dangerous" of the Rogue races. However, most don't mean any harm. It's just a stigma associated with them.
Werewolves - Werewolves are essentially humans who, you got it, transform into a werewolf once a month. They are extremely elegant, graceful, and good-looking during their human phase, but on the night of the full moon they unwillingly transform into a werewolf and become savage, bloodthirsty beasts. The werewolves live especially far from the rest of Rogue society in hopes of avoiding a massacre on the night of the full moon.
Vampires - Vampires are essentially the perfect predator. They share the same basic body structure as humans, but they have big, glimmering eyes, perfect skin, and commendable physical strength. They love to mess with humans and throw around their sexuality. They feed off human blood, but they only have too feed once every few weeks. They often make their way into human social circles (similar to Dark Elves) and form relationships with humans. Vampires are not pale and cold, however – they are completely alive and have their own bloodstream, respiratory system, nervous system, etc. They just can’t digest food; they have to drink human blood. They do not sparkle in the sunlight. They do not hesitate to kill when they’re thirsty. They’re good at covering up their tracks when they feed, so when someone dies of a Vampire bite they basically disappear from society. The bodies of the victims are generally fed to the vampire dogs that live underground, beneath the Coven Headquarters. Out of all the Rogue races, Vampires are the richest. They can transform humans into vampires if the human consumes vampire blood after being bitten.
Korrigans- They are very beautiful when seen at dusk or night, but by day their eyes are red, their hair white, and their skin wrinkled; thus they try to avoid being seen by day. Korrigans have beautiful hair and red flashing eyes. They hate priests, churches, and especially the Virgin Mary. They can predict the future, change shape, and move at lightning speed. Like sirens and mermaids, they sing and comb their long hair, and they haunt fountains and wells. They have the power of making men fall in love with them, but they then kill the ones who do. they are eager to deceive the imprudent mortals who see them dancing or looking after a treasure, and fond of stealing human children, substituting them with changelings. On the night of 31 October (All Souls' Night), they are said to be lurking near dolmens, waiting for victims.
x ~ Fallen ~ x The Fallen are the faction of Rogues who are truly dangerous. They are the undead, and want nothing more than to see the downfall of Azure City.
Angels - No one knows where Fallen Angels come from. They are essentially large, gothic-looking creatures with wings that no longer fly and eyes the color of carbon. However, they can change their appearance. The only thing that they can’t change is the jet-black color of their eyes. They are cold-hearted and bitter, and are invisible to most. Not even the rest of the Rogues know where they live. They like to kill for no reason, tease and taunt humans, and indulge in the pleasures of life – food, sex, and riches. They can’t reproduce and they are completely immortal. Rumor has it that the Angels are planning something, but no one knows just what that is yet.
Gilgamesh - The Gilgamesh are basically zombies. They’re dead Rogues who for some unknown reason were unable to make it to the afterlife. Their bodies were granted a primitive form of life. Gilgamesh are able to walk, speak, and function like normal Rogue but they live amongst themselves and don’t associate with their former friends or family. The only difference between Gilgamesh and what they were in life is that Gilgamesh experience no strong emotion. They are unable to love or hate and the only passion they are allowed is the Gilgamesh Code - to cause chaos wherever they go. Like Angels, they enjoy killing for no reason and harassing humans.
Shoggoth - The shoggoths were created by the Elder Things as living bioengineered construction equipment. Being amorphous, they could take on any shape needed, making them very versatile within their aquatic environment. Though able to "understand" the Elder Things' language, they had no real consciousness and were controlled through hypnotic suggestion. The shoggoths built the underwater cities of their masters. Over millions of years of existence, some shoggoths mutated and gained independent minds. Some time after this, they rebelled. Eventually, the Elder Things succeeded in quelling the insurrection, but thereafter watched them more carefully. By this point, exterminating them was not an option as the Elder Things were fully dependent on them for labor and could not replace them. It was during this time that, despite their masters' wishes, they demonstrated an ability to survive on land. (Thanks to Greenflayme for this summary!)
x ~ Quivers ~ x
Quivers are the elite police force with Azure City. Their goal is to discover where the Rogues are and keep them from coming into contact with the Civilians. They hunt Rogues by night and live as normal civilians during the day. Each Quiver also has a special ability, like mind reading or shapeshifting. Be creative. Other than this, they are normal human beings.
There are different ranks for Quivers - Squad Leaders, who each have their own three-member group of Quivers, Hunters, who hunt out Rogues and search for them by night (there are two hunters per squad), and Runt Members, who are basically trainees in the squad. They do all the lame dirty work like cleaning the secret base (which is currently unknown) and serving as Rogue Bait if they need to attract Rogues to the squad. Hunters and Leaders do the difficult stuff and Runts do the easy stuff.
x ~ Civilians ~ x
Civilians live in blissful ignorance – they have no idea about the conflict between Quivers and Rogues. However, they are the target of Demon and Fae pranks and the victims of the Fallen. Civilians often disappear due to Rogue interference (vampire bites, murder, etc.).

x ~ Character Skeletons ~ x
You may have up to five characters at one time. If they die, they die. You can't come back to life. Please read the rules before posting, and wait until the Roleplay Lead (Me, Alice) edits your post. Now take one of these skeletons over to the Profile Thread, fill it out, and sit tight. And remember to look at the required characters beneath this post - those have to be filled up first. Thanks. smile

x ~ The Rules ~ x
1. NO GOD-MODDING! Your character must have some kind of limitations. The abilities of each type of character has been given. Please adhere to your race.
2. Ask before killing someone. Always, always PM before delivering a fatal blow. You wouldn't want someone to randomly K.O. YOUR character, would you? Same goes for relationships - PM before starting a relationship between characters. Both parties should be aware, just like in real life. xD
3. No excessive cursing. God knows I'm not the cleanest chica in the world, but this is Gaia and if your swears aren't important to the storyline or in tune with the character's strong emotions, there's no reason to have them there.
4. No excessive sexuality. Let's keep it classy, ladies and gentlemen. Take it to the PMs if you're THAT horny, but I'd prefer if sex was implied. Close contact, holding hands, kissing, and being cutesy are alright. PDA is alright. Ahem, anyone who goes to school with me knows I'm... alright... with PDA. But if you're going to have SEX, imply it or take it somewhere else.
5. Keep it real. I don't want random people fainting for no reason; that kind of thing runs rampant in roleplays FAR too often. Make sure your characters have some real personality and most importantly - post according to what's going on. I really don't want to see someone walk in a room, say something, and someone else walk into the same room and just sit there. Respond. Reply. Do something! Be daring!
6. Grammar, please. Misspelling things here and there are alright, but dO nOt Do ThIs CrAp and d0n type lyke th1s e1th3r. also dont act like yr on facebookkk. wink ;D xD o.O biggrin
7. This isn't really a rule, but heads up - there are no limits to the amount of gore included in this roleplay. I really don't mind, and it makes it realistic. xD
8. A note on locations - If your post is not at the same location as the person above you, please post the location. And put some effort into this and find a picture of your location if it's somewhere new.
9. A note on multiple characters - If you are playing two characters and they are *not* in the same place, please use two separate posts. Do not cram both characters into one.
9. ENJOY! Let's make this awesome.
You get one warning. Do something wrong again, and I ban you, fool.

X ~ UPDATES ~ X
4/17/10 - Hey everyone. I fixed the typos in the character skeletons and added "Sexuality" to the list of things you have to include. If you already have a character, changing your profile is optional. I guess if you feel like you wanna clarify go ahead, but you don't have to. smile Also reorganized the Quivers on the character list. Otherwise the two squads are all grouped together and it's not organized enough for my ever-so-subtle OCD.
5/1/10 - Hi guys. Just added Korrigans to the list of Rogues under 'Demons'. We now need a Korrigan Queen, too. Changed the rules, also! You are now allowed to have FIVE characters, not just three. smile
5/9/10 - Hey everyone. Squad one is officially filled up! Hooray!

Alice Aurelius was bored. Here she was, elbows leaning against the counter, brain flooded with the scents of the coffee brewing around her, eyes unfocused. This was work. Boring, uneventful work. She glanced at the clock. Only two more hours to go. Adjusting her apron, she sighed.
Her mind wandered to her fantasies, as it often did at times like these. I wish something interesting would happen, she thought, thinking about the mysterious Quivers. Everyone thought they were a menace to Azure, sneaking around at night and scaring the children. But Alice knew better. They were heroes. They had to be. They couldn't possibly be up to something awful under the power of the city government. No, it had to be something else. Something exciting. I'd join them in a heartbeat.
She glanced around the shop once more. This was the evening shift, the time of day when the most interesting people showed up. Beautiful people, tall and handsome and just begging for trouble. She wished she could get to know some of the customers better, but it was against the rules here at the coffee shop. Not only that, but her coworkers frowned upon being the cutesy, perky chick who worked at the corner java house. Alice was too busy peering around at the various evening coffee-drinkers to notice when a young couple came up to the counter to order.
"Hello? Miss, can I give you my order?" said the woman. Alice snapped out of her daydream.
"Oh, sure. Sorry about that. What will you have?" She went through the motions, tapping in the different types of coffee on the touch screen and waiting for the automated coffee maker to finish the order. "Here you go," she said, smiling mirthlessly as she handed the woman a soy hot chocolate and a medium mocha. As soon as the process was over, Alice sighed once more and returned to her leaning-on-the-counter position. This was her life, and nothing ever happened.

Zαץʃιє мαδδσυx Light filtered through the windows of the dim, extravagant ballroom and the sweet scent of blood wafted softly throughout the chamber, intoxicating the egotistic vampire at the entrance. Zaylie closed her eyes, inhaling deeply, enjoying the aroma as she silently stood in solitude and she serenely hummed a lullaby. At times, she enjoyed isolation, it gave her the freedom to cogitate without interruption and lose herself but she adored attention, she was delighted having her needs catered without hesitation, found pleasure from being complimented. Pondering was the reason she had wandered off to the empty ballroom, her humming came to an abrupt halt. ‘It could just be a rumor but then again,’ She thought, chuckling darkly. She had heard that the Fallen Angels were plotting, but she was not aware of what it could have been, she was mildly concerned. ‘Does it involve the vampires? We’re already in trouble with Quivers, of course they noticed the sudden decrease in population. We need to lay low, if the plan involves us, it could be hazardous…’“Your Royal Highness, we’ve been searching for you everywhere,” a distinctly familiar male voice interrupted Zaylie’s morbid train of thought. “What are you doing in here?”“Quiet, Raziel.” She said, sternly, a harsh edge in her silky voice. “We need to find the Fallen Angels, it’s important and tonight, we hunt.” A hateful grimace adorned her face, her crimson lips contorting into a frown.

♥══♥══♥══♥══♥══♥══♥═╗ ♥ ║
ΛžǻžəŁ Яטә "Hex, this isn't right. I said chocolate. God, no one gets anything right around here..." Azazel was frustrated. Something was wrong. The night air seemed heavy and there wasn't a single star in the sky. Not only that, but his manservant, Hex, had messed up his demand for a chilled milkshake four times today. How many different ways could you mess up a milkshake? Well, he'd received a vanilla milkshake, a strawberry milkshake, a chocolate malt drink... Something was on that boy's mind. And this was yet another reason to be unsteady tonight. When something was bothering Hex, there was something to be truly worried about. Hex had... powers.
He looked up at through the ceiling of the tattered old cathedral in the center of the land of Fallen Angels, invisible to all but Azazel's people. For the millionth time he chuckled to himself, thinking about the irony of living here. This used to be a house of God, and they were all allegedly God's angels who had been damned. And here we are, as if waiting for God to take us back. Waiting for Him to speak. But Azazel knew He would not. Azazel knew that right now, in this life, this land was his to rule over. God was dead. God had left them all.
And once more, Azazel wondered if he should seek out the Vampires. He knew where they were. He knew Queen Zaylie was looking for the Angels' hideout, but Azazel had an advantage here - he already knew where the Vampires made their home. It would be easy. Go, check on the Queen and her people, ask if they'd noticed anything strange lately...
But it wasn't quite that simple. As much as Azazel wanted to believe he had allies, the King knew it wasn't true. Who knew what kind of hostility awaited him in the Vampires' Coven?
He sighed. There was only one way to find out. "Hex, forget the shake. I'm going out." He stood, then paused, calling out to the dilapidated kitchen he knew Hex was in. "If I don't come back in a day, send someone." With that, he shuffled through the cathedral and into the night air, beginning the long walk to the Vampires' Coven. His wings followed him, clinging to his back, aching from the hundreds of breaks along every tendon and desire to fly. Hush, he told himself. I can't fly.
