The Story

Long ago, there were two brothers. They lived in the beautiful city of Swayleley, in Lexandav Castle, with their father, the King. As the boys grew older, they slowly began to drift apart. Aenon pursued goodness, and was kind to the less fortunate. He spent his time furthering alliances with other cities and states. But Arding stole away from his family and once good friends. He surrounded himself in darkness and hatred, training in the dark and arcane arts. On the day that the two twins turned 21, Arding killed the king. He soon left the city, and then the state, never to be heard from again.

Aenon is now 35 years old, and deathly sick. The city of Swayleley had thrived under his rule, and he now had a family consisting of his wife, Elinniel, and his beautiful daughter, Isis. Arding had conquered a city, the capital of Berenion, a state that had long been an ally of the state that Swayleley was the capital of, Maidhamaer. Even though Aenon and Arding were twins, as soon as Aenon saw his brother, he knew something was horribly wrong with him. He had not aged a day since they had last seen each other, on their twenty-first birthday, and had sprouted a pair of pitch black wings. Aenon knew that he was marked as one of the damned, and immortal. Elinniel passed away that year, and Aenon knew that he would soon follow. Just a week before he passed, Arding declared war on the state of Maidhamaer. Aenon called his daughter, then 17, to his chambers and explained what she must do.

On the day of Isis's birth, a prophet had come to the King and Queen. She had explained that their baby girl was going to be the one to decide the fate of everyone living in Maidhamaer, and eventually, the world. She told them that Arding would rise to power, and Aenon's life would end. Isis was to find twelve guardians, and three knights, to lead her and the army of Maidhamaer against Berenion. Her guardians would consist of the strongest, smartest, and fastest people in all of Maidhamaer. Her knights would be three of her closest friends, but one should not be trusted. She also declared that Isis would die on the day of the war, but did not clarify whether or not she would triumph.

Aenon told his beautiful daughter her fate, and she instantly set off in search of her Guardians and Knights.
