When you do a family surname aka last name in filet crochet . It has recently become popular in my area and I want to do that for my sibling for Christmas but I can't find a pattern becuaebi don't know what it is called!

A doily? I was looking around a little bit, and most of the patterns seem to use cross-stitch graphs for the letters.
