Al stood in the middle of her dorm and slowly turned in a circle, examining her new room. I hope I get a roommate. . . I'm not very social but I don't want to be alone. Especially because I don't know how long I will be here. . .

 Lilian walked up to her dorm room and knocked,her violin in the other hand."Hello?"She said softly and shyly.

Al heard a knock on the door and a quiet "Hello." She turned the knob and pulled.
"Hi. Are you my roommate? Oh!"
She noticed a violin in the girl's hand.
"That's beautiful."

Al took Lilian's outstretched arm and shook it.
"Al."
She moved aside to let her roommate into the dorm.
"I didn't claim the bed where my bag is or anything, you can choose whichever one you like. I'm not picky."

Lilian walked in and stared at the room in amazement.
"This is a nice room"She said smiling.
"I'll just take this one" she said setting her thing's on the other bed.She looked around some more then sighed with a smile on her face.

"Yeah. . ."
Al closed the door, walked to her own bed, and sat down.
"It has quite a nice view too."
Al examined Lilian. She seemed like a kind girl, so far at least. Al had not come here to make friends, but she had been raised to be kind, so she would try to be civil and keep her anger to herself. There was no point in blowing up at someone who was completely innocent. . .Oh dear, I'm staring! How rude. . . I'm sure she thinks I am some sort of nut now. Great. Al rolled her eyes at her own idiotic train of thought and flopped onto her stomach. She pulled a novel from her suitcase and began to read.
"Do you like it here so far?"

"Yah,I love it here,people are so kind"Lilian smiled and fell back on her bed thinking to herself. "I hope she does'nt thik i'm rude,I want to make friend's and she's so kind!"Lilian thought to herself sighing."What book are you reading?"

"So,the Princess Bride,I've read that,it was really good!"lilian sighed tracing her violin with her index finger.

"That's how I feel too." Al noticed how Lilian looked at her violin, almost lovingly, or maybe sadly. "How long have you played? Your violin, I mean."

"I started when I was seven,I fell in love with the violin and this was the only one i've played ever since."Lilian sighed and smiled.
