Sooooooo.

I've had this idea for a long time.
Tried it out for a while. Didn't work so well. D;

But, the idea is pretty much about a Magician who is being pursued by a crazy chick. That's the BASIC idea, it sounds way cooler through the plot and story. ;;>>

However, I've tried it multiple times, and they've failed because of flaky people. So I wanted to try it out here, see if it would work better! C:

I'll post up story/plot in next post, so that people can give ideas and... things. And tell me if I should actually put it up. x3

Story:

Get him!” The voice bounced off the walls of the thin alley way, echoing and growing steadily quieter. The sounds of heavy footfalls ricocheted off the walls as the small group of cloaked figures ran, splashing through puddles and ignoring the pouring rain. Their cloaks were soaked through, turning a seemingly darker black. But they still followed behind the running figure, despite being heavy with water.

In front of them another cloaked figure was running. Only he was dry and he was much quieter than the ones chasing him. His black, dry cloak flew behind him as he sprinted down the alley way, stepping over puddles and weaving in between trash cans and boxes. Unlike an ordinary run away, he didn’t knock the boxes or trash cans down to slow down his pursuers. No, the aura around him radiated self-confidence and cockiness. He knew he could escape; he was just simply enjoying the chase. A chase he knew that he would lose his pursuers in. The hounds didn’t always catch the fox.

Behind him the wet pursuers were growing irritated. The three of them each pulled out a small gun, barely as long as their forefinger and almost as wide as their palms. It was a convenient little trinket to carry around; easy to hide and efficient. The first one aimed the small gun, put his finger on the trigger, and pulled. A loud bang sounded as the small bullet cut through the rain and made a straight line towards the cloaked run away. The bullet grazed the man’s ear, causing him to gasp in shock at the sudden burst of pain and as his warm blood began to tickle down his ear, dripping onto his cloak.

Chancing a quick glance over his shoulder, the man scowled and began to mutter words under his breath. They seemed to have a volume of their own; an unknown power emitted from them. A faint glow radiated from his person, but it was barely noticeable. But the effects were immediate. The guns in the hands of his pursuers began to heat up; the rain hissing as it hit the hot metal. Cries of alarm and pain escaped from the cloaked men as they dropped their weapons and held their injured hands. They stopped in their tracks, the pain already pushed away from each of their minds. Each was a trained fighter; trained killer. A little burn wouldn’t stop them from capturing their target.

Sliding to a stop, the dry man turned around to face his assailants, smirking widely. His white teeth gleamed under his hood, the only thing visible under the dark shadow the hood cast over his face. The assailants looked towards him, their own faces shadowed by the hoods of their cloak. The only sound made was the rain hitting the cobble stoned streets as the hooded figures waited to see what he would do next.

Grabbing a part of his cloak, the man bowed mockingly, “Thank you ladies and gentlemen that was a marvelous chase. But I’m afraid that I’ve grown bored and have decided to take my leave of your dull company.” Straightening up, his hands still gripping his cloak, he laughed as he wrapped it around him and disappeared. His assailants were left swearing under their breath, staring at the place where the man had vanished. Their target had escaped. They each looked at each other, although their eyes weren’t visible, each knew that the others were dreading what was coming next.

Plot:

A single man in London, England is being pursued by a small, unknown group. Not much is known about why he is being chased, but most would conclude that it was because he had done something to anger someone with power. Though this was not the case - which left it such a mystery to all. He was being chased simply because of the fact that he was a Magician. He can disappear, pull things out of his sleeves and out of a hat, make large objects disappear and hypnotize people. What most people don’t understand is that it is, in fact, real magic he is performing. When things levitate, he’s making them. He doesn’t use wires, or strings, magnets, or trap doors. He simply doesn’t have a need for them. Many skeptics of magic have tried to outdo him, beat him down by science and logic. But each has failed. Eventually, they gave up. Besides, in a world of modern technology, who would think it was magic?

The group, assumed to be against magic, is after him to either kill him or use his unique gifts. How the man had obtained his gifts is known only to him, but it is assumed that he made a deal with a God of some sort. He took – or found – something that belonged to said God, and traded it back for his powers. This is only assumed, but it doesn’t seem that farfetched. Some believe that he was born with these powers; sense taking something that belonged to a God would have erupted in mass chaos. That’s what is presumed, anyway.

Being a magician is his cover up. He can use his powers without being suspected at all, and he can earn money at the same time. When he first started doing that, it was the best idea. It worked great, nothing went wrong. The audiences’ he preformed for loved him and adored him. Who doesn’t love a convincing magic show?

One day, though, someone approached him. What transverse between the two is kept secret, but it played a huge role on the magician’s future. After that day, he has been on the run to stay away from the group that is after him. He doesn’t know what they want, but he’s sure that they are hell bent on ending his life. And he plans on doing the same, only they outnumber him. He can only do so much at a time, and his powers tire him if he uses them too much. So, he is in need of assistance, and that is precisely what he is looking for. Anyone who has a unique talent that can contribute to his goal of ridding himself of the group will catch his attention. His powers give him an upper edge on finding worthy candidates. It’s just getting them to believe him and help him that’s the tricky part.

Your context and geography would have to be good. I get picky when people get London wrong. It makes me laugh. xD

It sounds a lot like the plot of The Illusionist, if anyone saw that. Just with this God and real powers thing.

@Haunted;;
Thanks! I'm still thinkin' about it though.

@Becki;;
I was thinking about changing the setting. I'd like to make up my own geography for it, so that it can be warped all I want it to be, and when people are in it, it can't be said that that place doesn't exist, or you can't do that there.

Maybe an alternate reality? Like Lyra's Oxford in the His Dark Materials Trilogy? It would be the same place, although you could change aspects to your choosing.
