User Name: D i R T i E de-TALES
Teacher name: Johnathan Aaron Yelsah
House: Hufflepuff
Year: 3rd year Transfiguration teacher/Head of Hufflepuff
Age: Twenty-three
Blood: Pureblood
Wand: Thirteen and three-quarters, mahogony, dragon heartstring
History: Johnathan (a.k.a. John) was born in a very strict asian family. His mother is a witch, his father is a wizard. John was put into the magic world even during his months in the womb. He had his times in the womb when he had to taste the awful potions his mother drank for him to take in. But it was all for preparation for when it was time for him to live in this life. And that was why, when he was born, he was able to levitate his blankie an inch from the ground. His mother was proud. His father, seeing as his son couldn't do anything that he could do when he was all grown up, wanted John to get a career in the police force for the Ministry. So his parents wanted him to be an Auror. For the first ten years of his life, John practiced with his mother and his grandfather at learning magic. The simple spells of course. Nothing too dangerous for innocent little John to handle.

By the time John got his letter, he was already a whole year ahead of his classmates. But of course, he didn't want to go ahead of his classmates and go a year ahead of them. He just stuck it out. John's years, however exciting they were, were very stressing. Not only was he dealing with advanced classes during his fifth year, he had been going from one relationship to the next in an instant. By the time he was in his sixth year, John had given up on relationships and decided to live a single life, deal with school for the time being. When he was done with Hogwarts would be the time he would think about getting himself into a committed relationship. Unfortunately that was not the case for John.

Right after finishing Hogwarts, John had signed up at the Ministry for Auror training. Like in Hogwarts, John found himself ahead of his partners and finished his his training years a year and a half earlier than the rest of his class. So at nineteen, John was out in the field with the rest of the professional Aurors. His Auror days were ones he will never forget. Even though he was badly hurt during some assignments, John loved ever minute of his job. And then he heard the one thing that frightened him to death. Hogwarts was secretly invaded by Lord Voldemort. Instantly, John had asked his boss if he could be one of the Aurors assigned to watch after Hogwarts. The reason for his begging? His cousin, Angel, is a student at Hogwarts. He needed to look after her.

During his assignment at Hogwarts, John was to be inside the field. Meaning he had to be a student again. With the help of Polyjuice Potion and the hair of a muggle boy from London, John remained undercover for while looking after Angel. Soon, the Dark Lord was defeated. And after that one experience, John knew that it was time to take a break. So during the summer, John went to Professor Daskin, the new Headmaster, and asked for a position as a teacher. Luckily for John, he got a position as a teacher for his favorite subject, Transfiguration. He was also given the position as Head of Hufflepuff, his house during his years of Hogwarts. Now that he was taking a break from his Auror career, he could teach his favorite subject while watching over his cousin. With how rebellious that girl was becoming now, John was going to make sure he kept his full eyes on her at all times. Especially when she's with that boyfriend of hers.

Speaking of his cousin, on the first day of summer vacation, John brought Angel to the Ministry of Magic to get her memory erased of all the horrible things she saw during her fifth year. The horrible things meaning the death images she sees of all the people she knows. His cousin is a death Seer. With her memory erased of all memory of the three deaths that she saw, John is hoping that Angel will not have these images ever again, at least not during her sixth year and seventh year at Hogwarts. He hopes that the memory erasing will give Angel a peaceful year at Hogwarts. That wasn't the case. She had soon gotten her memory back but it didn't seem to affect her as much as he had thought. He had underestimated his cousin. During the school year, John had found love yet again. And he's never going to let it go. Hikari will always be the girl for him.

During the summer after his first year of teaching, John had adopted one of his students that Angel had persuaded him to adopt. Now that Kathryn is officially his daughter, he believes now that the effort was worth it. Since he had practically raised Angel all his life, he's prepared for what comes to him with the teenager. With the new year, John is now planning on finishing his family.

Only things got a little rough. His engagement to Hikari had been broken off due to a misunderstanding and with Angel now in the desire to move out and live with her boyfriend, he's having trouble catching up with keeping a nice and peaceful family. He's just hoping that Kathryn will still be tamed enough to give him a break. Then again, his daughter is already fourteen and she has come to that disobedient stage that Angel went through.
Personality: John doesn't take bull from anyone. He has a hot temper and does not minf blowing off steam in front of everyone. He does not care to pull out his wand and curse someone. John has this hard barrier around him that makes him hard to get along with. If you're a relative or a close friend, those are the only people he will soften up to. Now that he is a teacher, the guy is not going to take any bull from his students. He has strict rules and he wants them followed no matter what. Now that he is a full time teacher, and a full time chaperone for his cousin, it will be hard to see him with a smile unless it was a smirk. So in other words, don't get on his bad side or you'll be sorry. He has no time to play around anymore.
Pet: John has a female snowy owl he named Remy. She has a white ribbon tied around her leg with a small bell attached to the end. A little something Angel and his sister decided to do for Remy even when he disapproved of it. But now, he loved the little jingle Remy had with her whenever she flies towards him or Angel.
Position: Head of Hufflepuff and Transfiguration teacher
Other: John is slightly blind on his left eye, the cause was from an assignment during his early years as an Auror in the Ministry.

User Name: D i R T i E de-TALES
Student name: Angela Krista Yelsah
House: Hufflepuff
Year: First Year Transfiguration Intern
Age: Eighteen
Blood: Muggle-born
Wand: Ten and a half, beech wood, unicorn hair
History: Angela (a.k.a. Angel) has been through a lot since her start at Hogwarts. First off, her parents aren't really like the rest of her family. See her parents are muggles. So her ability to use magic even with nonmagic parents, gives her the title of muggleborn. But call her mudblood and she'll kick your a**. But she was prepared for the fact that she knew magic. Her whole family on her mother's side, besides her, are witches and wizards. And because she was so attached to her grandfather when she was younger, and when she started showing signs that she was a witch, he immeidately taught a few simple spells and such. And she also had a little help from her cousin John.

Angel was born in a very strict asian family. Her parents expected things of her before she found out she was a witch, wanting her to be a doctor and such. And now that she had magic in her life, they still want her to work in medicine. Only now, they want her to be a Healer. Angel doesn't mind though, she loves working with others. But she has a another plan for her life if being a Healer doesn't work out. She'll just be a Auror like her older cousin John.

Before Angel started Hogwarts, this was about ten years ago, she had this power that she wished she didn't have. She was a Seer. And even though it may seem like a gift, Angel thinks it's a curse. Because instead of seeing the future in good terms, she sees the future in horrible terms. She sees future deaths. Her first victim was her grandfather. She saw everything for months. At first it was blurry images, and then it became clearer, down to the last scream. When she was seven, the death happened. And it happened right in front of her eyes. The image of her grandfather's dead expression haunted her for months.

When she got her letter, Angel was thrilled. She met many people there, and also her first boyfriend Frank. Now she's in her sixth year of Hogwarts, just one more year of Hogwarts. The shocking thing about her whole summer after her fifth year is that she got her memory modified. But the only things she does not remember is the whole fact that she saw three possible deaths in the school. She doesn't have a clue about her Seer abilities.

During her sixth school year, Angel got her memory back of what had happened. But she had told herself not to get so affected by it. She was strong and soon accepted her Seer powers. Because her boyfriend Frank had not returned to school that year, she concluded that they were no longer together and had trouble moving on. That was till she met Nathaniel. He was such a wonderful guy to be with. And at the ball, she found out that he was such a great kisser. They are not together yet, but everyday Angel hopes that they will be more than friends some time soon. The summer after her sixth year brought happy times. First her cousin had adopted her friend. After such a hard effort of persuasion, John had finally adopted Kathryn. Angel was so happy to have Kat as part of the family. And now they live under the same roof. Even though Kathryn is basically her niece, Angel likes to think of the girl as her own little sister.

Now that she's graduated from Hogwarts, her previous plans to become a Healer had been long passed in the past. She does not feel the desire to be a Healer anymore. However, her interest in Transfiguration, and not to mention her very high score in her NEWTs, has turned her attention towards the possibility of being a teacher or at least working in the field of Transfiguration. She's taken the year off from continuining on with her education to give a test drive with the Transfiguration deal.
Personality: Angel is a pretty quiet girl. But when in front of others, especially new ones, she's a very friendly girl. Her grandparents tell her that her smile could brighten up a whole room. Angel doesn't believe this, but then again, she's also very modest and doesn't really know how to take compliments when given to her. When things get serious, Angel can become very bitchy. Get on her bad side, and get ready to feel her wrath (strictly speaking). But besides that, she's very easy to talk to and she loves to listen. It's been this way since she was a little girl and she started walking. Always running around the house with that cute baby smile that made anyone she passed by smile as well.
Pet: She uses her Kuya John's owl now.
Position: First Year Transfiguration Intern
Other: Angel has widened her Seer ability. Now she's able to take a glimpse at more than just death. She could see some people in the future, but it's all just one big blur. She's still working on it though. But she's learned to master her abilities with the help of some of her elder relatives.

I have a few rules in my class that will be followed no matter what house or what year you're in.

Behavior
Absolutely no speaking unless you are told to. I have good hearing people, I've been in the Auror business for years and my hearing is enhanced to a very high level. And I may be slightly blind on my left eye, but I will be able to see which one of you students is breaking my rules. Now on to other business, like speaking, I will not allow any wand movement in my class while I am teaching. Unless I give you permission to, I would like all of you not to take out your wand. If I see just the tip of your wand, it will be confiscated for the whole day and you will have two days worth of detention. I am teaching you things that you will use in the real world ladies and gentlemen. I have no time for horse play in my class. That is why I do not believe in a warning policy. Out in the real world, there are no warnings, it's either you deal with the punishment, or pay the consequence for being defiant. I am not here to babysit you for a whole period. That is not my job. So I expect my rules to be followed. And don't think that rebelling against my rules is going to solve anything. It's your own decision to be here. If you want to fail my class, then fine, fail it. I am only here to teach the students that want to learn. If you want to be a smart a** and try to do stupid stuff in my class, get out now. But remember that this is a required class, especially for when you are looking for a job as an Auror or a Healer. You pay attention in my class, and you pass it, I can already see a bright future for you.

Also, like I said about the warning policy, I also don't have a second chance policy. So think very hard about what you do to get yourself kicked out of my class. Once you're out of my class and my role sheet, you're out for good. I will not take second chances. One mistake that leads you to getting out of my class and it's game over for you. I will take you back however, when you can persuade me to take you back. But I'm a hard man to persuade, and don't you dare go to the Headmistress for help. She is a busy woman and does not need the likes of you drop outs in her way of her job.

Homework and Tests
I'm very strict on homework and expect them to be turned in on time. Extra credit will be given to those students who turn their assignments before the deadline. All assignments turned in late will be burned into dust right in front of your eyes. I will not tolerate late work at all. I give at least one or two essays a week, but the main thing I would like all of you students to do as homework is review what you have learned in the whole week. Every Friday, whether I am sick or absent for another reason, I will give out a test. Yes ladies and gentlemen, a test. Not a quiz. Thirty questions (not multiple-choice) about what you have learned that week. And then two physical excercises to show me if you were really paying attention. Also, before I forget, if you have not completed a homework assignment and want to turn it in on time, come straight to tutoring and you have until curfew to finish your assignment and turn it in. After curfew, I will not accept it.

Tutoring
I only give out tutoring during eighth period. Any other time will not work for me. If you are free to come during eighth period, come in and sit at a desk. I will be walking around to come and assist anyone that needs help. But my same rules apply to tutoring. No wand movements unless you have my permission.

Detention
I have a very big thing for detention ladies and gentlemen. Break any of my rules, even if it's a little break, you'll be given detention. And I'm not going to go easy on you, even if you're first years. I am not one to give out lines for you to copy. That doesn't do anything. I'm not into torturing either. That's pointless and tacky for teachers to do. But I will have individual assignments for you to do, and they will not be easy.

Tardies and Absences
If you are absent or tardy during my class, it is your responsibility to get the assignments and the lessons that were taught that day. I will not review or remind any students of any homework assignments that were given the day after. You must learn to fend for yourself ladies and gentlemen. Live your own life. I am not here to mommy you. Also, when you return from your absence, I would like a note from either your Head of House or the nurse. Never ever ask the Headmistress, unless your reason for being absent was because you had a meeting with her. I want this note to be handwritten from the teacher and not from your handwriting. If you are in my house, please come to my office either with an excuse from the nurse or your reason for being absent from my class. It is the same for tardies, the only way you can get out of being punished is with a note from either the nurse or your Head of House. No note, one point will be taken away from your house for every minute you're late. And you will also get detention.

These are my rules ladies and gentlemen. I expect them to be followed. If they are broken in any way, it will lead you to a detention or getting kicked out of my class.

My classes are all top notch classes, meaning that even in the basic level you'll be taught in an advanced level. Think of it like an Honors class or an Advanced Placement class for muggle students. The classes below are the only classes I teach, nothing more.

Transfiguration Level I : : For first year students only. All first years that have failed this level should both be ashamed of themselves and will also be told to take this class the next school year.

Transfiguration Level II :: For second and third year students that have passed Level I. If you fail this class, you must take it over in your next year or you can come during tutoring hours to make up the credits. Level II, Part I will be taught during the second year. Level II, Part II will be taught during the third year.

Transfiguration Level III :: For forth and fifth year students only. All those who have failed this class will either take it over the next year or during tutoring hours to make up those credits. Level III, Part I will be taught during the forth year. Level III, Part II will be taught during the fifth year.

Transfiguration Level IV :: For sixth year students only. Students who have failed this class will have to take it during their seventh year and their seventh year only.

Advanced Transfiguration :: This is not a required class, but I will give it to seventh years only who have passed Level IV. And I shall also hold monthly Saturday classes for this class, where you learn the most advanced spells and work with them. This is for students who can follow directions and will not fool around.

Remember, my classes are all advanced classes. I will not expect slacking off during my class.
PostPosted: Mon Apr 05, 2010 10:34 pm

Below is the order in which my classes will be divided. Remember that first and eighth period are my tutoring and/or conferencing periods.

Period One :: Transfiguration Level I - First years

Period Two :: Transfiguration Level III, Part I - Fourth years

Period Three :: Transfiguration Level II, Part II - Third years

Period Four :: Transfiguration Level II, Part I - Second years

Just because this is a required class, doesn't mean you are officially in. The first thing you must do is fill out the form below to officially be signed into the class. Once you have filled in that form, send it through pm with the title "Transfiguration Sign-In Form" with a completely filled out form. In this form, I expect complete sentences WITH explanation in the required places. My classes are more advanced than the basic level. If you can not make a full and complete sentence, then go back to second grade.

Name, House, and Year :: Self-explanatory
Reasons why you want to be in my class :: I do not want "Because it's a required class" If the only reason why you want to be in my class is because it's required, then don't waste my time if you're not going to enjoy it. Here you are to prove to me why I should admit you into my class. List AND explain traits and other characteristics that prove to me that you can handle my class and that you can pass it with understanding of the subject. The minimum number of words in this brag sheet is 150 but more than that is highly recommended that it's actually required. Going above the requirement proves to me that you are willing to go above and beyond.

The way you'll know if you are approved into my class is if your reply message says "Approved" as the reply. Don't b***h if I say "Denied." It means there is something wrong with your form and that you need to fix it before sending it back to me in a fresh pm.

~Kathryn J. Yelsah~

Kathryn walked into class quietly, and took a seat in the middle, knowing her father wouldn't let anyone in the back. She was glad that Professor Brocksby had just given her a warning, but it had also been enough to bring Kathryn back down to Earth. She didn't know what she had been thinking, she definitely wouldn't have done it with any of the returning Professors. But what was done was done, and Kathryn would just have to do her best to make sure it didn't happen again. If you looked on the bright side however, at least Kathryn didn't have to get rid of all of the boys and force herself to calm down before going to her father's class. That would have been more difficult to do until she got to class and had her father getting after them all. He would say it was for being loud and disrespectful, but Kathryn would know it would be her father's way of handling so many young men around his daughter. She gave a feeble smile and wave to her father and aunt at the front of the classroom. When she saw Angel there however, her smiled brightened a little more. Aunt Angel was going to be teaching as well. Maybe it wouldn't be too terrible then. Kathryn quickly pulled out her Transfiguration book, and note writing equipment before sitting quietly and waiting for the bell.

~Mary L. Austin~

Mary wasn't far behind Kathryn as she walked into the room, which made Mary wonder. The girl was clearly being poky since she just had to go down a few flights of stairs and Mary had to come clear from near the forest. Either way, Mary knew it would be in her best interest to just leave the girl alone. In the long run, it would make matters far less complicated. Mary walked to the front of the room, smiled, and waved at Professor Yelsah before dragging her book and note writing materials out of her bag. "Good Morning Professors." She had to quickly add on the s when she saw Angel Yelsah as well. This was new. Then again, it shouldn't have surprised Mary since Professor Wixom had announced it the night before. She guessed Angel Yeslah was pretty cool as well. She was the one that had the visions about Mary's death, and therefore had helped save her. It was just the blond adopted on Mary couldn't stand. At least that one was silent in this class.

Kayleigh Ackerman

Kayleigh walked into Transfiguration, happy to be attending one of her favorite classes so early in the day. The only downsides to the class were the lengthy assignments Professor Yelsah gave as homework, as well as Mary Austin. She didn't know how or why anyone could or would be as annoying and obnoxious as the girl was, but the fact was that she really was that way, which was bad news for everyone who ever came into contact with her, including the professors. She saw Professor Yelsah at the head of the class, along with his niece, Angela--although everyone called her "Angel"--and greeted, "Good morning, professors," with a big smile. Kayleigh took her seat right next to Kathryn and pulled out her parchment, ink, and quill, then turned to Kathryn and asked, "So how far did you get into the first chapter in Divination?"

Kathryn gave Kayleigh a weak smile as she sat beside her. The girl had regained some of her color after the scolding from Professor Brocksby, but she was nowhere near as lively as she had been before. Before she had gone to Divination, Kathryn had been flying high and absolutely fearless. She had never had anyone really notice her, and anyone that did she had been too shy to speak too. She had grown confidence over the summer however, and something else must have happened to make so many people seem interested in her. If you had told Kathryn last year that the first day of 4th year she would have boys flouncing around like peacocks trying to get her attention, she'd have laughed in your face. It had happened however, and it had put Kathryn on a unique high. She hadn't been careful however, and had resulted in a crash landing. A landing which Kathryn was still fairly bruised and rumpled from. She guessed the bruises would take a bit of time to heal, but she knew she wouldn't go flying as high next time. If she flew at all that was.

When Kayleigh asked her how far she got in the Divination chapter she gave another weak smile, but this time offered a timid chuckle. "I got about three-fourths of the way. I guess that was pretty good all things considered. I know I deserve the homework for what I did to Professor Brocksby, but that doesn't make it any easier of a pill to swallow. I just know I'll get a lot more from the other Professors today. I just hope I didn't make Professor Brocksby cross at me for keeps. She seems like such a nice woman, and heaven knows Professors that hate me are the last things I need." Kathryn was talking quietly, knowing that her father didn't hold with talk during class, and that if he heard what she was saying, he'd be much more cross with her than Professor Brocksby could ever dream of being. Class hadn't started yet however, and Kathryn figured if she kept it real quiet, she might get away with her father not hearing. She knew she was risking it though since he prided himself on his acute hearing.

User ImageAngel watched as students piled into the classroom. To think that four years ago, she was that student and now she was the one standing in front of them. It was odd yet a thrilling feeling. A bright smile etched on her shining and slightly tanned face, Angel smoothed out the robes she had bought for her teaching apparel while waving and greeting the students. It amazed her that some of the students were still shocked to see her up in front of the class even though it had been announced during the Welcome Feast. Once order was called, all thanks to her cousin's amazing ability to gain order without even a word. She hoped that if she ever got this job, if she wanted the job, she could do the same thing. Then she waited a few moments, watching as some students murmured a conversation. How nostalgic it felt to be standing up there looking upon this when a few months ago this was what she was doing. Letting out a sigh, she turned her head to see her cousin walk out of the back office in his black robes then watched as he sat down on his desk. She had no idea how he managed to keep so calm like that when she was so excited. The excitement in a little joke they had planned out last minute. It was, in John's words, a way of welcoming Angel into her position through her own entertainment.

Flipping her bangs to the side to clearly see the class, her eyes fell on Kathryn, who had suddenly gained quite a bit of popularity as the rumors are spreading. Just because she was now an assistant teacher does not mean she isn't part of the social web at Hogwarts. However proud she was that her niece was finally coming out of her shell (though Angel does take a fair bit of responsibility for this), there was no having it during her time. Clearing her throat, Angel cheerfully leaped off the step at the front of the classroom and beamed at her students.

"Hello, dear students! My, my, my! Fourth years. What an exciting year. The last year to have fun before you stress over those huge exams that are IMPORTANT for your life." A playful nostalgic sigh. "THANK MERLIN I DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THAT ANYMORE!" she let out cheerfully then giggled. Another sigh then she looked up at her students. "All right, class. For starters, I will have no more talking of previous classes thank you. There will be silence. Also, please take out your homework assignments and pass them forward so that I can collect them."

Her eyes beamed of excitement. She just couldn't wait to pull the little prank on the students. For now, she just acted like an excited first year teacher waiting to teach class.

~Kathryn J. Yelsah~

Kathryn looked forward when the bell rang, knowing that silence would be required. Her father wouldn't say it, he wouldn't say a word. He would however discipline harshly if a student decided to test him and talk after his class began. As 4th years, this entire class had had Professor Yelsah for 2 years previously, and knew that very well by this time. Kathryn was surprised to see her father just sit on his desk however. That wasn't like him. Usually he would be on his feet, walking confidently and letting nobody doubt that he was in charge. Once he set them loose to work on their assignment he would sit at his desk, but that was when everyone was supposed to be working absolutely silently, and usually without books. Kathryn's brow was furrowed in concentration, her eyes never leaving her father. What was going on? Was he nervous? Her father never got nervous. If he did, he never showed it. He was always cool as a cucumber, no matter what stress he was under. He had also done this many years before, so there wasn't any reason to worry. Even if something had happened with Angel, he wouldn't allow his personal life to shine through in his work. Kathryn had learned that last year when she had acted up in Hikari's class, and her father refused to step out and talk about it with her when Hikari confronted him on it.

Kathryn was still in thought when Angel started speaking. Immediately her head snapped towards her aunt in shock. Angel was teaching the class? Kathryn's head snapped back to watch her father. What had made him decide that? Surely he wasn't just going to let Angel take the reins from day one and jusst sit there. Kathryn had been under the impression that Angel would just be a kind of teaching assistant. At least at first, and perhaps later in the year she would teach a lesson here or there, but to start off the first day? Her father had definitely cracked. As the shock wore off however, Kathryn broke into a huge smile. All thought of being in trouble with Professor Brocksby vanished. Kathryn's fun loving and kind Aunt Angel was teaching. She didn't have to worry about her strict father. Not too much at least. Sure he was observing the class so Kathryn couldn't do anything stupid, but she always behaved for Angel anyways. If she didn't, it wasn't like Angel told her father, but Angel had her own ways that made Kathryn feel just as bad, if not worse as if her father had been told. Kathryn also knew that Angel would have to follow her cousins directions and do as he said for the class, but she would make it as fun as she could and she would be so solemn. Kathryn's smile turned full as her color returned, and she faced the front. She couldn't resist the urge to tap Kayleigh's arm excitedly. "Angel is teaching. This is going to be so much fun." She whispered quickly.

Kathryn listened quietly to the lesson Angel taught. She couldn't sit perfectly still, but she did her best. She couldn't help a small groan at the homework given however, knowing that that one came from her father. She was respectful however, and wrote down the assignment without a word. When the bell rang Kathryn packed up quickly and headed for Angel. She gave her a tight hug. "That was good Aunt Angel. I'm glad you got to teach us." She let go after that, knowing she didn't have much time. She then moved over to her father and gave him a hug. "Glad to see you daddy." She said hugging him just as tightly. She hugged him slightly longer than Angel. She knew he would be confused at her actions since she had been screaming for freedom and independence all summer, but right now she truly was glad for him. She didn't have much time however since she had to get all the way up to the astronomy tower. With one last smile she waved goodbye and headed for her next class.

User ImageFearing she was going to be counted tardy, Klára ran full-tilt into the Transfiguration classroom, though making sure to slow down so the teacher wouldn't berate her for running in the halls either. She was flushed and breathless, both from the exertion and from the scene outside. Seth had been covered in blood. She couldn't get it out of her head, only because of how closely he resembled... She shook her head. This was only her first day back at school, and already she was falling apart.
