Know that you gaze upon the Manor of house Aoba, may honor drape the name for eternity. Long has this house in the shadows, nearly destroyed by the audacity of question resisting the reining peace of the Seireitei. Now they stand as the guardians of that peace. Woe be to those who would threaten that peace.

 Toshino entered the Aoba compound with much weighing on his mind. He had a pupil to train in the arts martial that hated him. Sana had only accepted him as a teacher because the boy couldn't beat him. It would be some time before this was an issue; so filled with bitterness, the youth was unlikely to find the stillness within himself required to actually defeat his new master. But that fact would become a double edged sword in the days to come, for this rage would also stand as a barrier to the core of Toshino's teachings.
All movement finds it's begining in stillness, a warrior must be calm and centered in order to do more than simply react to his opponent. A true warrior did not react, he observed, accessed, and acted accordingly. A warrior merged with his enemy, used him, manuvered them in accordance with his will.
Toshino had no choice but to consult his own teacher, hoping his sensei would hold the answer.

Toshino made his way thru the compound, to a door seal with the family crest and seven mystic locks. He drew his zanpakuto and released it with a thought. Plunging his blade into a hidden cleft in the crest and left it hanging there as he began the ritual to open the door.
As he chanted his family lineage he kow towed three times each to the crest, the sword and then to the west toward the setting sun. He then spoke the family oath.
"Honor burning bright to light the way. Strength rooted deep to walk the true path. Wisdom of the ages, guide my steps along the trail thru the darkness."
A deep grinding sound echoed thru the chamber in which Toshino stood as the locks opened and the door swung wide, revealing a dark and narrow stairway. He took the stairs down into the dark, bearing neither torch nor lantern, he knew the way. The carvern to which the stairs led was massive. Dripping water echoed in the distance. Toshino carried his wakened blade to the center of the room to a large block of silvery stone covered in mystic symbols. He plunged the sword into the tri-stone pilith.
"Father of my fathers come forth I beg, and hear the plea of this unworthy son............."
A light shone faintly in the darkness, swelling rapidly to a glare to rival a cloudless noon.
"Speak...........Child............"
