Adventures wind up becoming stories, which become myth. Much like the heroes of old, small beacons of civilization and hope arise, a point of light admist the darkness of the surrounding villages.
By strands of fate and lines of destiny, this story, like most of them before it, starts in the most common of commonplaces, the Shady Corner Inn, one of the most successful inns, located in any civilized town. Some rabble has gathered around the various tables, some playing cards, others merely eating, for it is a long day, hot in the summertime as the fires roar to cook the meals.
And yet, this is where you are, minding your own buisness, when fate begins to intervene...

Orian sipped his Ale, and leaned back comfortably in his chair. Well, as comfortably as one could lean back in a chair when wearing chain-mail. His pack was set next to his chair, containing most of his supply's, and his trusty staff was leaned against the table, with in easy arms reach, just in case.
He glanced the room over, wondering idly how much longer it would take the food his cosine and he had ordered, and as he did, he took another draw of the Ale. It had a solid flavor of berry's, to much of one in fact. At least by the standards of dwarfs of the hammer fist holds, who tended to favor a, stronger, beverage.

From another corner of the room Belial sat, leaning over the poor remains of his drink. The young half-orc's eyes scanned over the other members of the room, analyzing each of them without moving his head much to reveal it. It had become a habit of his, sitting himself with his back against the wall in a corner and keeping his eyes open, although he only came there to relax and think. There were few places that allowed him to do such, this place being the exception as long as he could pay for the beverage. How he would get income for future drinks however he couldn't tell.

Morim sat hunched over his ritual book, rereading what he had read before. Though he had been very well read, he hadn't exactly practiced anything practical in the field. He whispered a bit, a small prayer to Moradin that if it was his will to overcome some great hardship, that he and his cousin would be able to do so together.
Afterwards, Morim felt a bit more serene. He always had after prayer. He placed a hand on his book, about to pull to the next page before he noticed the uneasiness in Orian. Without armor, Morim felt more comfortable, yet more vulnerable. If death was to come, then let it be a noble death for Moradin. Still, it hardly seemed like a noble death to die in a tavern area of an inn.

Orian continued to eye things. The Drow caught his eye immediately. Yes, she was glaring daggers, and she practically oozed killer. That said, she was exceptionally attractive, physically speaking. But best not to dwell on that, least for the moment.
The humans could go either way. They didn't worry him, as he was confident in Moradin's power to help him through any trouble, but it hurt not to be vigilant. He noted the others as they entered, paying special attention to the dwarf female.
His cousin Morim pouring over his ritual book and preying, as was his custom. He looked back to his ale, and took a longer draw this time. It was his habit to be a touch on guard when drinking. But for the moment, he doubted it would be a needed one tonight.

"Did ye hear about that last raid? Andronsius was taken captive by that blasted Sinruth and his raiding again," One of the humans at the card table said, drawing the attention of the dwarf female who sat by the fireplaces. "Fat b*****d might be good with plants and alchemy, but come to a fight and bonk! Knocked out."
"Ye best nae dishevel th' man's nam.," the tiny lass stated with little effort, slamming her hands down upon the table. "yoo thee probably cooldnae e'en handle a single kobauld, much less a boorichie ay goblins by deh Red 'and."
The card table grew noisy, catching the eye of the tiefling, swiftly striding over to calm the patrons down, while the Eladrin and Goliath quickly returned to drowning their own sorrows upon the liquid flasks. The noise died down as the dwarf joined in the game, little to be gained.
(Possible actions you may take:
-Perception: inspect a specific person closer. -Gather Info: Historic backgrounds and possible other information to find out to set out on. -Attack: In case Hulk goes raging...
Be clever.)

The half-orc's attention was soon grasped by the commotion the group of humans and one female dwarf managed to make. He wasn't able to fully understand what they were arguing about, even as the silence fell over the bar again.
Although normally not a very curious creature, Belial was interested in learning what the spectacle was all about. There was no way he could just butt in and ask however. Not them anyway.
Belial soon noticed there was a goliath present however. Although there was the possibility that this small giant would not appreciate his company, it seemed he had much higher chances at conversing successfully with this individual than anyone else in the tavern. Finishing up the few remains of his drink in a half second, he planted the cup back on the table and surprisingly carefully and quietly got up on his large, sturdy legs. With light steps that didn't match his appearance, he walked over to greet the goliath, trying not to drag with him too much attention along the way.

The Goliath gave a low glare, feeling him look her over as she watched him get close. Paranoia, or simply caution, had attached to her senses to wonder what this orc wanted.
"If you're going to ask for a date or buy me a drink, I'm not interested."

Belial felt the urge to proceed with caution. The female goliath didn't seem angered or upset, but he couldn't really sense what else she thought either. He grabbed a chair and took a seat next to her, although he moved the chair a bit more away from her than it was originally placed. "Good news for both of us then, I doubt I can afford either." He responded, trying not to act more friendly or hostile than she herself did.
"I am curious about what the humans over there were discussing a minute ago." He continued, thinking getting to the point would possibly give her a sense of reassurance of what his intentions were.

Orian was still sipping ale, but he did speak to his cousin at that point.
"Say, Morim, you wouldn't happen to know what that gathering over there is yelling about, would you?"
As far as Orian was concerned, it was a soft whisper. But, his veiw of quite and loud had been so badly sewed by the encounter with the oger, that what he though only his cousin would have been able to hear in this instance, was, in reality, load enough that there half of the bar would have hear it with minimal difficulty.
And as he spoke in his no long quiet tone, he was giving the Dwarf Female a second glancing over.

"I don't know, nor do I really want to know. If you're so curious, why not ask them?" The Goliath said apathetically, taking a bit from her tankard and downing it.

Belial frowned from the Goliath's response, although his eyes weren't looking at her or anything specific. "Humans have little patience with me, or my kind." The half-orc grunted, slightly annoyed.
His eyes moved to the corner of his sockets, watching the goliath inhaling the beverage more than drinking it. "... What exactly is a goliath doing in a place like this anyway? This town isn't really much of an attraction for either of our kin."

"Trading mountain herbs and potions for some repairs to weapons for the tribe. What about you?" The goliath asks. "What's a greenie doing drinking his sorrows? The apple orchard too hard to pluck fruit from, or does digging ditches all day hurt your back?"

Belial snorted, forming a small smile. "'Drinking my sorrows'? Do I really look like some weakling that must resort to booze just to ignore my problems?"
The half-orc turned to look at how much she had left of her drink before he continued. "I heard that goliaths were good drinkers, but I guess I was expecting too much if all you need is this much to drown your own sorrows." He said, ordering a drink for himself as he ended his sentence.
