Geodude was too slow, and used defense curl the moment Charmander attacked.

The defense of the geodude was stronger then max had expected as he relized very little damage had been done. " Drago use scratch again" max ordered

Max cringed as he heard the crunch of geodude tackling drago as he opened his eyes he saw his precious charmander knocked out.
" Fine" max replied as he returned his charmander and summoned digger the pickachu " Okay digger use dig " max commanded as the pickachu went underground preparing to spring on the geodude from below

"Geodude, don't get confused! Use defense curl!"
Geodude used defense curl in preporation of the next attack.

Digger erupted from the ground slaming into eodude from underneath sending it sky ward

Geodude flew up high, then smashed into the ground, causing the ground to shake, knocking Geodude out.

"Oh no Geodude!" Brock sent back his downed pokemon. "You may have taken out Geodude, but lets see you handle this! Go Onix!" Brock threw a pokeball and Onix appeared, looming over Digger.

"Onix, use rock tomb on the holes, it made before!"
Onix lifted rocks with its tail and threw it at the holes to plug them up as it waited for Drigger to emmerge.

Digger emerged running out of a newly crafted hole slamming into onix head first. " Hey wait a sec that dig was a lot fatser then before" max replied as he rlized digger had learned quick attack
( hey question does pickachus static apply to onix since dig is a physical attack)
