No student likes staying at school all of the time. Schools have breaks, and that is when the students of Hogwarts get to come home. Summer is one where it is forced as Hogwarts closes it's doors to all students until term starts up again in September. Here is where you will find the homes of the students, and even faculty. Everyone is different, so there is of course different life styles, a different stories going on in each home. Feel free to play with your characters, but make sure that you aren't intruding, and that it would make sense for your student to be where you're placing them. Speaking to other members before you have your character intrude on their characters home, is always a good idea. It gets things worked out nicely.
