The sturdy Medusa sailed into the port of Neapolis and moored to the dock.
The ramp was extended to the dock and Hanno, clad in a silvery curiass and with his aspis strapped to his forearm strode ashore. His mighty frame put him a head taller than the native latins, his shoulders broad and imposing which was at odds with his bright, cheerful smile.
"Ah, Italy. The land of lovely dark haired beauties and sweet mountain wine. I can't blame the Romans for wanting to keep it all to themselves."
A tall thin Phoenician man approached Hanno and offered him his Spanish steel Dory.
"I've arranged for some Mules to help you carry your supplies inland."
Hanno took up the weapon gratefully and twirled the spear expertly in one hand, the point suddenly snapping out like the striking head of a snake in a practice thrust. "Excellent work, Gisgo. I'll head to the Front with wine, silphium and bronze and join the Samnites in their war for a time. And if I make a profit off this, I'll send it back ahead of me."
He hooked the Spear into a holster at his back and firmly grasped the thin man's shoulder.
"Gisgo, I look to you to sell the rest of my cargo, and to find a new, exotic cargo to take with us to the next port of call, wherever that may be."
"As you wish, Sire."
Hanno then turned to his four
Elite Companion guards.
"Men! We march in search of Coin and Blood! Drusdu!"
The men beat their axes upon their shields and gave a resounding answering cry: "Drusdu!"
And so, Hanno's small band marched into Neapolis to purchase supplies. From there, they would move to the Roman Front and adventure.
