Who is she...?____Racheal is one of the thousands of teens who have faced a brutal accident and are
bed ridden. It may not have been her fault that her legs have been snapped and a large scar runs down her face, but now she has to confront the loneliness, pain, and the uncertainty that all teens face about themselves. Facts explain that she's a seventeen year old girl in Emergency Care at a popular Canadian hospital. Which to her thanks, means no healthcare bills. Her main goal in life is to learn how to
walk again and perhaps be able to be seen as
beautiful even with her scar.
What's About Hats of the Heart...?_______
Hats of the Heart is an online social site open to all teens around the world. Due to it's contribution to numerous medical charities, most people who join are usually housed in hospitals. Many different conditions plague the members of this site. Some are immobile, such as Racheal, while many other conditions like burn victims, cancer patients, people suffering with broken limbs call the site their home.
The reason for the name is that when making an avatar, you give it a
hat to wear to represent what your heart is like. It's meant to reflect who you are in a small, simple way.You can personalize it in any way that you feel is you. So wear it proudly and show it off, because personality is now skin deep.
While Hats of the Heart was orginally meant to just be for a social site for advice and support, it has now become open to be seen as a dating site. So new love keeps popping up. It just goes to show that even stuck in a
bed, you can still find someone that makes your heart pump. Due to this new developement, the site has become compatiable with webcam so the members can see the faces of those that they are talking to.
What are people looking for on this site...?____Since most of these members are currently disabled, most just want to have confidence and people who like them for who they are. For many girls, this site gives them the oppertunity to be seen as
pretty or
beautiful for who they are and not just by shallow judgements of others. For both girls and guys, they're looking for friendship and maybe even love. Being stuck in a hospital can be hard on a growing teen and they want somewhere they can be free and independent - Hats of the Heart gives them this.
