Another way to get to Pallet Town was through Diglett Cave. The bad thing about this was it was night and I don't have a flashlight or the Move FLASH to find my way through the tunnel. Regardless, I had to forge ahead. I'm still at the entrance near Vermillion, and it'll be a long walk towards that cave, there would be a good possibility of me being caught. The people who were chasing me an hour ago could be here. They could be anywhere. If only I had the pass to the S.S Anne, which meant I could breeze through the Kanto Region and end up in Olivine City and know I'm safe. It's really not like I wanted to leave the Kanto, if I hadn't been hunted for 4 years, I know I would've found something productive to do with my life than just running from the future. And I had to do this alone. The only hope I've been given is from my parents, who always told me, 'not to ever give up,' my Pokemon who cheer me on when I'm down, and the boy who gave me the courage to find the true me. But his words better have not been for naught. I haven't found the real me.... yet. I will and I won't stop. But there's more reason to not run and head to Pallet Town for help. Why? So I can end this business once and for all. I've never really committed a crime, But all I know is that this Region is literally sacred. And I want to enjoy it too. At all costs!

"......" I hid behind the houses, actually sweating at the though of being seen. I was nervous because I was actually.... A Slow runner. I manage to out run people because I'm a block ahead of them, but I were to be chased without knowing it, this would be the end of my journey. In my life, there's only one shot to anything. And I'm not gonna waste it!

I surged forward.

"Hey you!" A voice called.

"ACK?! The jig is up already?!" I panicked and covered the top of my head with my hands. (But how?! I'm was so sure I was stealthy enough to get through..!)

"Are you here for the Poke Fan Club?"
He asked so politely I was shocked at the tone of his voice. In fact I was more shocked at his question than at anything else at the moment, so I just blankly stared.

"I've been waiting for our new member ever since morning, and she hasn't shown up. Are you our Member? ... Uh, Hello? Miss?"

"U-Uhhhhhh.... Y-yes!! I am!! S-Sorry for not c-coming earlier... Ahahahaahahah!!!!"
I played along so I wouldn't get caught.

"Splendid! I'm The Kanto PFC President. It's nice to meet you...." When he stopped, of course he wanted to know my name.

"I'm... Amethyst... I think this is the first time I've told me fake- er.. Name to someone.

"Amethyst you say? Great! Welcome to the Pokemon Fan Club!" He pulled me inside.

"H-Hey...! Wait..! I struggled.

My eyes widened. There were countless things here. People grooming their Pokemon, Cosplayers. Pokedolls. Photo's hanging on the walls. And cushions, and everything! I thought it was really sight to behold for a girl like me who's been on the chase. A woman had walked past me and smiled. Thus, my cheeks turned booming rosy.

"How do you like it here? In here, everyone talks about Pokemon! And at the same time, they're your friends!" The President chuckled heartily.

I stood there puzzled. I didn't know who to react to the word, 'friend.' In my dictionary, there was only, 'comrade', or 'ally'. Maybe 'Companion.'
"But... I've never had a friend before..."

He looked at me funny, as I covered my mouth in embarrassment. Then he gave out another, whole-hearted laugh.
"You must be too modest, my girl! Of course you have your friends! You're Pokemon are your friends right? You're cute Pokemon? Cute, hopefully..."

"I-I guess you're right...." I grinned a bit.

"Now how about we see those cute Pokemon?"

"O-Oh... Right. Espii! Sorii! Mawii!"

I called them out, and to my surprise they hid behind me, Espii was snarling like crazy and they were ready to begin battling. I knelt down and calmed them all down. I signaled the, 'it's okay for now.' sign. The PFC President was startled at first but then began to become dazed in their appearances. I sighed then smiled. Just hoping all my Pokemon may get along with the others. With how tense their reactions are, I realized how I've been making them so nervous all the time. I sure needed a break from all this running. I may be okay with running sometimes, but because my own Pokemon are worried about me, they're willing to do anything for me. I dragged them into this, and now I want to give them a break... If only for a little while.

"How cute!" he began to snuggle with Espii.

A clasped my hands in prayer form so she would see. My face said, 'Please, Please, PLEASE! Don't attack the man!!' She took it well, because she liked having her fur stroked. Sorri landed on his hat. But Mawii stayed at my side, hugging my leg. I patted her on the head *not her jaw* because I could tell she was scared because she was shivering so much. I kept patting her so she would relax. I sat down, put her on my lap and stroked her.

"There, there... It's okay now... You can relax.. You have nothing to worry about. I'll be sure to protect you.." Mawii responded in hugging me tight.

"Maybe I really do need a vacation from the Kanto..." I murmured.

"A Vaction you say? You mean like you wan to head to another region?" The PFC asked.

"Y-Yeah. Something like that. Maybe... To Johto...?"

"Ah, here then! Why don't you take the S.S Anne to Olivine City and see for yourself?" he handed me a pass.

My eyes glowed.
(Really?! A ticket out of here?! ... A vacation wouldn't seem bad... I can come back to the Kanto and settle things later.. Yeah. Maybe I'll do that.)
"R-Really?! Thanks!! I always wanted to explore lots of places... I-I don't know how to thank you..."

"Go on ahead, the PFC Is always open to you!" he chuckled.

"Wow....! C'mon guys!!" We rushed out the door.

This time, I really didn't care about the street lights... I WAS HEADING TO JOHTO! A girl like me?! I'll be able to see lots of stuff, and make more friends. And meet new people, who I hope I can get along with. And I head to Goldenrod! One of the coolest places in the Johto, I've heard!!

The Sailor approached me.
"Are you the last who's boarding?"

I nodded and handed the pass for him to check. Then he gave it back.

"Okay! All aboard the S.S Anne!"

I stepped inside, and the moment I did, the boat had began to set sail. Towards the Olivine City!!

Mark Lassiter
"Of all the things I could've chosen. . ."

Mark arrived in Vermillion. The instructions said that Suicune would then appear near a dock, and since it headed East, it had to be the Vermillion one. Gnoznorb lowered to the ground and Mark recalled him. If Korlos hadn't became so tired from chasing the North Wind halfway acrossa region already, then he would've jumped of the shiny Solrock. But unfortunately, even Psychic powers wear out after that long of a flight.

Mark sighed. His fastest levitater was to exhausted to continue a chase, and he might lose Suicune if he can't keep up, and Gnoznorb and Sorgatem aren't made for speed anymore. Since he was so close to a Center anyway, he decided to get his tired ones healed up the right way.

A few minutes later, Mark emerged from the Center's sliding doors. Now that his Pokemon were ready to go, all he had to do was find Suicune down by the dock. It shouldn't be to hard, right? A huge, blue and purple Pokemon standing ontop of the water or on land somewhere can't be that hard to miss. Now, a moving one, that's a pain. As Mark reached the docks, he leaned out towards the water, looking for any signs of the legendary Beast.

"Oh Suicune, where are you? I need to talk to you about something. . ." 'One place left to go. The cape's hill. If, and when, I find him here, I better get Korlos to get me North of Cerulean, fast. . ."

Suicune had secreted himself around the back of the docks by the time Mark had arrived, the Bronzong's psychic reverberations enough for the beast to know when Lassiter had arrived, and so he crept up behind the psychic once he had left the Center. When the man spoke, Suicune had to stop from laughing out loud, instead settling for nudging the man with his 'crown', and sending him a short psychic message.
'Who ya looking for, hmm?'
He threw him a wink, before speeding off once more, this time heading for Cerulean, just as Mark had predicted - a quick glean of the man's mind reassured him of his intentions, and he was no longer hesitant to let the man take the final step in gaining Suicune's loyalty.

Mark jumped when he was nudged by Suicune. We was really caught off guard? Guess that's why they call him a legendary beast. And now the North Wind was playing with him. Mark just kept his gaze out towards the ocean for a little bit, then hung his head down. He pushed himself off the safety beam and sent out Korlos. "To Cerulean, we're almost done." He said, grabbing onto the Solrock. As the pair took liftoff and followed behind Suicune, Mark couldn't help but crack a small smile. It was Suicune who he had met, and it was Suicune who would be able to help him in the battle for Goldenrod.

Sometimes you have to kind of die inside...

In order to get to the Pewter City end of Diglett Cave, a little bit of backtracking was in order. They left the city through the southern entrance, the same they had entered through earlier that day, and instead of continuing onwards to Viridian Forest they veered off to the side of the path. The way was blocked by some dense shrubs growing to about waist level, but Cavalier was able to make quick work of them with only a momentary pause. The remainder of the way was easy to follow, as the tall trees growing on either side of the path left little to the imagination as to where they needed to be going. Seiko was thankful for it, and after reasoning in her mind that it was a relatively straight path from there, she pocketed her map. Kanoro cast her a sideways glance at the movement, but continued back to looking straight ahead shortly after. It seemed he agreed with her judgement. The entrance to Diglett's Cave appeared almost suddenly, and Seiko only paused to give a cursory look around at her two companions before stepping inside. The light from outside was almost completely extinguished the further inside they traveled, but it was somehow never entirely pitch black to where they needed some sort of aide to see where they were going. 'This is seriously going to take us all the way to Vermillion? Just how long is it?' Seiko shrugged, the movement almost lost in the dark. "We're traveling halfway across Kanto this way, so I can only imagine it goes on for quite some way..." She frowned quietly in thought. "I mean it would only make sense if it did. Just because the path doesn't go over land doesn't mean the distance isn't the same. We just get to take a more straightforward approach."

They continued on in this way for several hours, their vision adapting to the low light in the cave in a short time. Then, much sooner than any of them were expecting, light began to shine through at the other end. "Wait...what?" Seiko was dumbfounded, to say the least. "No way we're already there!" 'Are you sure?' Seiko turned her widened gaze onto Kanoro. 'Because that sure looks like the exit to me.' Seiko pouted at the obvious sarcasm, quickening her stride. She needed to see this for herself to believe it. And...well ok then, there really was no denying it. The sun made her recently dark accustomed eyes sting fiercely. "Right. I take that back then," she grunted, rubbing at her eyes and blinking profusely. There were definite 'city' sounds coming from nearby, and once her vision cleared she saw for herself that there was indeed a city very close by. If this wasn't some sort of twilight zone and what the map said still counted, then it was no doubt Vermilion City. "Alright you guys, come on then," she muttered, still grimacing slightly from the pain throbbing in her temple.

Sometimes you have to kind of die inside...

Thankfully enough, Seiko's headache had completely dwindled away by the time the trio stepped into the city, leaving her free to take in her surroundings with wide eyes. There was surely a lot to see. Where Pewter had possessed a homier sort of feeling to it, Vermilion had all the normal signs of an active bustling city. This was probably thanks to the ports, and it could not be said that Seiko liked the change. The increase in people, noise, and general activity was doing little for Seiko's perpetually shot nerves. She unconsciously shrank in on herself, and Kanoro took a step closer to her side out of instinct. He knew the drill well by now. "Cavalier."The Scizor looked over as his name was called, eyeing the pokeball Seiko now held with a stoic expression. "Return, please." He gave a small nod, disappearing in a flash of red light moments later. Kanoro watched as Seiko reattached the capsule to her belt and gave her a questioning look once she had raised her eyes again. "We'll draw less attention this way." The Lucario gave a soft sigh and shrugged in resignation. He knew she would have returned him to his own pokeball as well, but the fear of being alone was by far greater than that of being singled out by a stranger. They continued further into the city, both of them keeping close to the buildings on either side of the street with Kanoro's confident stride a stark contrast to Seiko's hesitant shuffle. "I change my mind, I want to go back to Pewter," she muttered quietly, arms crossed tightly in front of her and a frown fixed on her face. Kanoro gave a snort of amusement, not even looking over to her as he responded. 'I don't even need to tell you how counter productive that would be, do I? If you hate it here so much, why not get on board one of those swanky cruise ships they have docked here? Then you could be a hermit in your own private bedroom.' There was silence between the two of them for a few moments where the Lucario had expected an answer, and he finally turned to look curiously at the girl. She was openly pouting, her shoulders hunched even more than before. "I am not a hermit." 'That's what you were hung up on?' "I'm not." Kanoro merely shook his head at her childish behavior, and her pout grew tenfold. "Hermits don't shower, eat funny things they find in the woods, and run away from people. I only do that last part!" 'Ok, ok I take it back. But seriously, going back to Pewter City after coming all the way here is just stupid.' "...Yeah, I know." They walked on, Seiko thinking and Kanoro simply following her to wherever she went. He could make out the telltale roof of a Pokemon Center nearby and...was that a Gym? Wow, he hadn't been into one of those in what felt like ages. "Ok, I guess you're right." Kanoro blinked in surprise, turning back to his trainer. 'Um, what?' "You were right about taking one of those cruise ships out of here. They even go all the way to Johto, and I like that region better anyways. So why not?" Kanoro waited until she redirected her attention away from him before shaking his head in exasperation.

The both of them made for the docks, and as the number of people grew the more uncomfortable Kanoro could see Seiko becoming. She was pressing so close to him she was practically tripping over him. 'Oi, Seiko.' She whipped her head around towards him, eyes wide in the beginnings of a panic attack. Kanoro grimaced at her expression, grabbing her wrist. 'Here, calm down ok? Just keep your eyes down and I'll lead you the rest of the way. You don't have to worry about it.' It seemed to take her a while to process what he had said, but then she gave him a weak, apologetic smile and nodded as she did what he suggested. He returned the gesture, stepping in front of her and carefully pulling her through the tightly packed crowd of people around them. This wasn't the first time he had needed to do this, but it had been a while. In that same way Seiko purchased a ticket for the S.S. Aqua which would take her to Olivine City, only to find that the ship was setting sail within five minutes. So the trainer and her pokemon raced to the proper dock and just barely made it on board before the loading plank was removed. "Geez. He could've given us some sorts of head ups," Seiko panted, hands on her knees.

"What? Need a map?"

At the southern-most part of town, where the docks trailed into the sea, a large ship could be seen making its way inward, slowing to a stop at the wooden boardwalk. Once it was it was stationary, the sailors working the docks had it tied off, securing it to the walkway and letting the ramp drop down to let the passengers off. One of these passengers, seemingly more active than the rest, jumped up onto the railing, holding herself up by hanging on to a nearby pole. "HELLOOOO~ JOHTO!!" she shouted, earning her bewildered looks from all over the place. She paused, her grin fading to a neutral expression, as she removed the sunglasses from her face. "Hrm... so much for a warm welcome..."

The woman let go of the pole, letting herself fall onto the railing, sliding down towards the boardwalk and landing flawlessly. Despite wearing heels, she had minimal trouble with things such as this. She turned back towards the ship, clapping her hands in an impatient manner. "Let's go guys! We got work to do!" At the top of the ramp, two Pokemon were seen carrying bags and suitcases of various sizes. The Blaziken, being the bigger of the two, naturally carried the larger pieces of luggage, whereas the Nuzleaf had the smaller bags. The woman smiled brightly, interlocking her fingers behind her head. "Gouken, Locke..." she said, speaking to her Pokemon. "Welcome to Olivine! I know you're excited to see the place, but like I said, we've gotta get a move on~!"

She whipped around, getting a view of the city from where they stood on the docks, then cocked her head to the side. "Huh... Olivine sure looks way different than I remember it... Where's the lighthouse? Did someone redecorate the place?" As she spoke, a sailor dropped a crate and approached her. "Olivine? You lookin' fer Olivine, lass?" The woman turned to face the sailor, a confused look on her face. "Uh, yeah..." she said sheepishly. The sailor shook his head and chuckled, wiping the sweat from his brow. "Yer in the wrong city then, li'l lady. This here's Vermilion." he said, returning to his work and leaving the woman standing there with her Pokemon.

The blond woman blinked as he walked away, still confused as to what was going on. Gouken and Locke exchanged glances before looking at their bewildered trainer. After a few moments of hard thinking, the woman's eyes shot wide open, and she whipped around to face her Pokemon. "OH MY GOD! WE'RE IN KANTO!" she said, shouting her obvious realization. Again, the two Pokemon looked at each other, letting out equally loud sighs before dropping the bags on the dock. The blond trainer, frustrated as can be, pulled out her Pokegear and accessed the map feature. After looking it over, the woman sighed and placed the gear back in its holster, crossing her arms and looking at her Pokemon. "Well, at least Kanto and Johto are neighbors..." she said, biting the corner of her lip and forcing a reassuring smile. "I don't have enough money for another ride, so we'll have to walk there. Fun times, huh?"

The Blaziken and Nuzleaf sighed again, knowing for sure that traveling with their trainer on foot would be a very long trip indeed.

"Researching regional Gym Leaders?"

Not long after arriving in Vermilion City, Amelia and her Pokemon began their long walk towards the Johto region. "Nuz... Nuz... Nuz..." "Oh, quit complainin', Locke. We haven't even left the city yet!" she said to her Pokemon in a slightly shrewd voice. Of course, she had no reason to complain; she wasn't carrying the bags, after all. Once they were off of the docks, the blond trainer looked around the city, scouting the area for the city's nearest exit. "Okay, so that way is north... we should be going that way, then." Despite being directionally challenged the majority of the time, she seemed pretty sure of herself. Her Pokemon said nothing, of course, lest they never hear the end of it.

"Now remember, you two..." the woman said, holding single a finger up for emphasis. "We're only here on a very important mission, so we don't have time for lallygaggin' until we're finished. Got it?" The two Pokemon nodded in compliance, grunting lightly as they strode along. Soon, though, a short man walked up to them, adjusting his glasses as he approached the woman. "Ah, there you are! Better late than never, now come with me..." he said, grabbing Amelia's wrist and tugging her along. But as quickly as he grabbed her did she rip her hand away, scowling at the man. "Okay, one..." she said, her voice serious as can be. "Don't touch me unless I say so, or Gouken here tears your arms off." She pointed a thumb over her shoulder to her Blaziken, who responded to the remark by popping his knuckles. "Blaz..."

"And two... I have no idea what the hell you're talkin' about!" The man looked at Amelia, a mixed expression of fright and confusion spread on his face. "So... you're not the stand-in for the city's gym?" "Uh, no... duh." His face then drooped with realization of his mistake. "Ah, dammit... I was hopin' you'd be it... I'm gonna lose my job for sure..." Amelia, who normally took no interest in the affairs of others, looked down at the man and sighed. "Well, don't want ya to lose your job cuz of me... How can I help?" He looked back up at her, adjusting his glasses again. "Y-you'll help? Oh, thank you!" "Yeah yeah, whatever... just don't drool on me, will ya?"

The man led Amelia down to the city's Pokemon gym, where a line of people could be seen waiting outside the building. "See, our Gym Leader here's been gone on vacation, so we called for a stand-in... who, sadly, hasn't shown up yet." he said, sounding obviously concerned. "They said he or she would be arriving from Hoenn today, so I thought that you'd be it. I'm sorry for the mix-up... but, can you at least sit in the gym until the real stand-in shows up?" Amelia placed a finger on her chin, contemplating the decision. "Hmm.... Well, I have something really important to take care of while I'm here..." she said, exchanging glances with her Pokemon. "But, I suppose I can help for now. Who knows, I might be able to get a lead while I'm here!" She liked the sound of finding a lead; it made her feel like a real detective or something. Gouken gave an unamused roll of his eyes in response to his trainer's decision.

Making their way past the crowd into the gym, Amelia scanned the inside of the gym, taking note of the electric gate at the gym's rear. "So, I'm guessing that this is an Electric-type gym..." "Yep." "And all those people waiting outside are challengers waiting for a Gym Leader?" "Yep." "Hmm..." The blond woman placed her hands on her hips, tapping her finger against her belt in thought. She looked towards the glass doors, the sunlight from outside shining its way in. "Well, I guess these trainers..." she said, slipping her sunglasses on her face and cocking a grin. " ... are in for a shock!"
