] I have posted it elsewhere, but I would like to see what the adults think
Ok this really isn't really anything new, but an old event of this type of behavior is back in the news New developments . The Westboro Baptist Church has been around for a while and are notorious for protesting funerals of military men and women, as well as there know anti-homosexual protests. Just the thought of someone protesting a funeral nauseates me, especially the military funerals. If you're that opposed to a persons life, you have no need to be at the funeral. I know some of you will say "but it's freedom of speech and the right to protest peacefully, which it is. However to protest those that fight for our freedoms at their funeral is just plain disgusting. Please feel free to share you thoughts, but please remember the Gaia TOS Also no flaming, remain civil and try to show respect for other (even if their opinions are not the same as yours)

This disgusts me. I practice Christianity, and while I don't agree with the lifestyle of homosexuality, it doesn't seem to profit anyone to boycott a funeral.
The death of anyone doesn't seem to be the appropriate time to protest anything. Regardless of how the person lived, if they're dead and the family is grieving, and if people call themselves ministers of Christ, they should definitely be tending to the family's needs as they can instead of agitating the situation.
I also find it utterly tasteless that they would picket the funeral to badmouth a person after they've died. It baffles me how people can be this radical and malicious; If I ever got the chance to sit down and talk with one of these picketers, I'd want to seriously ask how they came to this same level of understanding if we read from the same text.

I also saw this on the news.
Protesting at funerals is detestable.
The courts were wrong to rule in favor of free speech for the protesters.
Free speech has responsibilities and consequences if it abuses other people's rights and all.
I hope that the supreme court overrules the district courts decision in this case.

These are the same people who tried to stop the firefighters from getting to the trade center on 9-11 and preach things like "Thank God for 9-11", and thank "God for Hurricane Katrina"
They are disgusting creatures not worthy of being called human. I don't really believe in Hell but if it does exist I am sure there is a special little corner of it just waiting for them.
