Route 36 is a unique route, because it's the only route in the Pokémon world to have five different junctions. It connects to Violet City, the Ruins of Alph, the National Park, Route 35, and Route 37 (which leads to Ecruteak)! If you come this way from Violet City, you can't do anything at all except go south to the Ruins of Alph because the path is blocked by a strange little tree. Later, however, after you've gone through Goldenrod and received a squirtbottle, you can sprinkle the tree. It's actually a Pokemon! Once your path is clear, you can head north to Ecruteak City.
