Through many a tough battle, either on the field or over the table, Carthage has come to rule a portion of this island, save for the eastern half which is ruled by the Greek Colony Syracuse. Palermo: 18 kilicks to the northwest of Soluntum, Palermo is, like her sister city, a well fortified bastion of Commerce. She links the Sicilian frontier to the western part of the island, which is firmly in Carthage's power.
