i havent been watching or reading much so im going to name my taste on anime based on the anime.manga i really liked...
Gakuen Alice
Shugo Chara (hated doki and party..)
Yumeiro Patisserie (its new)
Zodiac P.I. (this is da bomb.. read it.. theres no anime sadly)

You seem like you'd be a shoujo fan. You could always go check out D.N. Angel, Highschool Debut, Maximum Ride, and Fruits Basket. I prefer the shounens like Bleach, Deathnote, and Naruto. These are just a few suggestions. ^^
