Ask me!

Hi, I am sure your asking yourself why ask me? Well let me tell you a little about myself. A few years ago I was an intern at Pixar and got to work on the movie WALL-E. I was a sound engineer and did a lot of my work at Skywalker Ranch working with the Foley Artists making sound effects for the video game Star Wars Battlefront II and WALL-E. By the way, Foley artists are those people that make sound effects using props. You know, like using coconuts to make the sound of horses hooves running and walking. Anyway! I also worked at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim California and actually got to be apart of some movie making magic at the Disney Animation Studios.

So, if you have anything you would like to know... even the history of these places I am the girl to ask! Ask away!

*has officially dubbed you epic*

Actually, I have a question, though it's really more of an opinion question.

Have you ever heard of the Aladdin "Good Teenagers, Take off your clothes" incident? (if not, here's a link to a Youtube vid of it) I've watched my VHS of it, and I can say quite honestly I heard it loud and clear. However, I have a few questions for you:
1.) Do you think that's really what he's saying?
2.) If true, how did somebody manage to get that into the movie?

Lol I do not even have to look at the video to know what you are talking about lol Its actually true. At Pixar the Disney movie "subliminal messages" were a big topic. Like the Priests boner in The Little Mermaid to the Naked lady in the Rescuers.
It would be easy enough for a sound engineer to work that one in there. You can not even really notice it unless you are really paying attention so the producers and Directors hear it, not really care. by the time of the finally viewing of the move they are already so done with it its not even funny.

Now, I dunno why they did it in Aladdin but I know for a fact that the Animator on The Little Mermaid was angry that he had gotten fired and had a little fun before he left the studio. Adding the p***s to the castle for the front cover and inserting the Priests boner.

At Pixar the animators like to implant what they call Easter eggs into the film. Putting things form other movies into another Film. Like the fact that there is a WALL-E in the first Toy Story. here Pixar Easter Eggs
There are a ton more than that guy found but the animators do that without Director or Producer permission... its like a little game for them. Its kinda fun you should watch all the Pixar movies and see how many you can find. I did it once with the Pixar gang but John Lassater told us there were more than just what we saw.... ITS CRAZY!

Hope I answered your question!

He's a really cool guy. I always liked seeing what crazy shirt he was going to wear next. But he is the boss and can be kind of a hard a** and perfectionist.

Now, George Lucas... he's just a butt! blaugh

Completely and totally full of himself... yes. I mean the man built a 10 foot wall around his house so he could make sure crazed Fans and Paparazzi would be deterred away. Ugh. I mostly had to work with him too which drove me a little crazy.

I got the job out of pure luck! I was a stagecraft student at the local community college. I was building sets for a number of their production and around the middle of the years they put on "Sweeney Todd" (This was before the movie came out btw.) I was asking to run the lights and be an assistant stage manager. There are usually two Stage Managers in a theatre production. I had to deal with both of them! The head Stage Manger who calls the ques from the control room was mean and I did not like him much but I mostly helped out the Stage Manger who directed the actors on stage. She was my best friend and who and I went to high school together so It was easy to just kind of fall into the position of being her assistant. I made sure all the props were in the proper area and that all the actors walk ways and stage was clear.
ANYWAY! David Collins , one of the head sound engineers at Skywalker Ranch, came in as a favor to play Anthony. He had a really good voice! and he also came in to help with the orchestration. He took the Community College Band to Skywalker Ranch to Record them for the Musical. That is one thing nice about George Lucas. He is always willing to help out the local schools. Well David and I met this way and when I eventually moved on from the college and made it into Es'pression College for Digitial Arts in Emeryville. CA I applied for the LucasArts Internship and he recommended me and then bame! got it.
The college I went to was just right down the Street From Pixar and Industrial Light and Magic So Lucas had me going to Pixar more often to help out on Wall-E. I only made a few trips out to Skywalker Ranch. It was a good 4 hours away. But later on in my Internship I was like making that trip everyday!!! Lucas was there often and so was Steven Spielberg because at the time they were working in Indiana Jones 4.

But yeah, I never saw John much but every time I did he called me the Yoda girl. I have a Yoda Backpack I got at Disneyland, very rare, that I always wore. I also was always trying to get him to do to Disneyland with me because he likes that place as much as I do! lol he used to work there at a driver on the Jungle Cruise WAY back in the day.

too cute! i love it! you're pretty lucky, i'm totally envious. lol

i was actually going to be working at Disneyworld this semester for the college work program, but unfortunately it would have messed up my scholarship. (Next year i'm totally going!) So in orientation i heard all about how Mr. Lassiter was a jungle cruise director. it made me happy :]
