Populonia is a small fishing town and harbour. This is one of the main ports for the Etruscan's but as a Roman port is only a minor port now as the greater Roman ports are more in use. even though this town is only small, its heavily fortified due to its northern location and the constant threat of Gallic attack looms over the town.
