Nearby there is a Graveyard that serves as a connection to the other places in both games. In Kingdom Hearts II, the gravestones can be knocked over for Drive Orbs and damage. In both games, the Graveyard leads to Moonlight Hill (called Curly Hill in Kingdom Hearts II)the left fork in the Graveyard also takes the party to the Hinterlands.

The swirling black mass of crows descended from the sky, carrying Vanity and a boy heartless he ecountered in a 100 acre woods. They had made a hasty escape from a renegage Nobody who took it upon himself to play story hero. As the crows landed on the grounded they all piled ontop of each other making a massive black blob. Soon this blob started to take a shape. It formed Vanity and the boy then all his pets flew off into the sky leaving them standing there. Particiliarly an upset Vanity. "Stupid ugo! Ruining my fun, who does he think he is!?" After ranting and stomping about Vanity finally looked down at the emotionless boy. "Are you okay?" Vanity asked in what was the closest tone of caring he had regarded for anyone else ever.

His interested had been peeked the moment he has spotted the silver haired Heartless in the book he had entered by accident. Everything had been a mistake but it had been such a sport that he had even followed along in the events that took place after wards. Another being, not a man or Heartless, appeared. Ryu had never met a creature of his kind and would have liked to evaluate him so more but with their hasty retreat and his inability to really attract attention his chance had slipped passed. There were many worlds, apparently, Ryu noticed as they were transported into a completely different scene, he would have his chance to pique his interests.

Crows, darkness to Ryu, helped to transported them to this foreign place. Amber eyes immediately went to work scanning the area. It was dreary and dark here, casting a glance upwards he saw nothing but clear skies, such so that this place should have been illuminated a lot more. Staring up at the sky, his mind stuck in a trance, he was brought back to...where ever it was by a sincere question asked by the one who had brought him along for the ride.

Staring at him with large eyes, he coaxed his head to one side. Ryu was not really sure how to answer his question. 'Are you okay?'. It was simple enough but were any of his kind really 'okay?'. Deciding that it was better to keep his comments to himself he decided to zip around the question with a question of his own.

"Where...are we?"

It was straight forward and was not something that would seem out of the ordinary to ask in such a situation.

Vanity scanned the land for a short moment becuase he himself wasnt to sure where his dark childrren had taken him. After about a second it all became fimiliar to him. Halloween Town, where Vanity would sometimes come and torment the poor hedious and revolting souls that lived here. He however appreciated the darkness that dwelled in this place. "Where are at the cemetary in Halloween Town?" Vanity sounded almost if he was asking the boy for reassurance. He then looked back down at him, his white bangs covering one his eyes. "What is your name child." He had to asked before engaging in anything else.

Looking away from his kin, he continued to scan the area, his question hanging on his tongue. My name...The smallish heartless had been going by the alias of a boy named Ryu, even his appearance was that of the boy who's identity he had stolen, if that was at all possible. Ryu was the only name he could leave this fellow heartless with.

"My name is Ryu."

Any other normal person would have asked in return for their comrades name but he did not feel it was utterly necessary. If the guy wanted to give him his name, he would give him is name now or never. Ryu's type of thinking had made him real unpopular, not that he cared.

Vanity found the boy quiet strange. Even by heartless standards. He examined him one last call before making judgement on him then spoke. "Ryu was it? Lovely name doll, you shall call me Vanity." Vanity stared at him directly in his briliiant amber eyes. Deeper then his own or any other heartless Vanity had ever met. "What were you doing in that book and why were you spying on me?" Vanity asked immediantly after, expecting another half assed awnser like the ones he got before.

Ryu had not realized he had ended up in a book and when Vanity pointed it out his interest was piqued. So, the realm of the darkness could go basically anywhere if he wished to go everywhere. It was unnerving to have Vanity stare so intently at him, even so, he did not look away. If you were face to face with a dangerous creature and you looked away it would only leave you open and show that you were inferior. Even though Ryu was not the ideal fighter he was not inferior to anyone, not anymore. Feeling slightly elated with his sense of boldness, he coaxed his head to one side.

"I didn't know it was a book and I was not spying. Heartless do not spy. I simply fell out of a portal I had opened up."

The boy responded, his voice taught and void of emotion. Ryu did not believe that he would ever be as animated as Vanity.

Vanity was a bit surprised at his awnser, he wasnt expecting such a robotic awnser from him. Though it suited the boy. Vanity sighed and looked up at the dark sky and pondered his next movements and actions. "Seems to me that you dont know much about your own powers, no?" After all the Ryu did say he 'fell' from his own portol. It didnt sound like the mannerisms of a heartless in control.

Ryu stared at Vanity, slightly perplexed by what he was saying. Sure it was a given that they had something other beings did not but he had not assumed that it was powers. The darkness felt empty, like him, that was the only reason he had discovered he could jump through those dark vortexes to get to where he needed to get to. Calling the heartless was different, they were a part of him just as much as they were to any other, including Vanity. Calling them was just a reflex, at most. Vanity pointing out that Ryu had no control over his situation was a little irritating, if that was possible.

"Powers...what good do powers serve Heartless. We do not need powers to seek out and find the darkness in hearts. Why would we need anything other than our claws?"

As if to make a point, his hands slimed significantly and their tips turned black and pointed, the claws that pure bloods possessed adorned his features now. His orbs glowed even more fiercely than before, the stirring inside him awakened and heightened.

Something was definantly different about, Ryu. Vanity was sure that he was like no other. He watched as the boy morphed his hands, this looked odd to Vanity but useful. Perhaps he had alot more power than once believed....but not enough. If they were to encounter a foe like the large Nobody from before it probably wouldnt end well. "Thats a nice trick lad. But you'll need more than that to survive." Vanity softly smiled at him as he was struck with an idea. A real test to see how much this Ryu could do. "Fight me....fight me and show me what you are truly capable of. I have plans for you boy. But I need to know what you can do." At that instant Vanity's keyblade appeared in his hand and glowing black feathers magically fell from the blade as it rested in his hand.

Kept in the dark. The soothing dark. That was how Ryu had made it day by day until now. There was no reason for him to think there purpose, reason or morality to his existence until now. The reason he had let himself be opened up to the darkness was one simple reason, to become stronger than he was before. It didn't matter if it was just slightly, so long as he could end up on top. For the first time since he had been loosed from the realm of darkness, he showed the emotion that bubbled inside of him. An impish smirk danced it's way across his pale features as he stared at Vanity.

A pawn. This heartless wanted to use him as a mere tool and was adding to it by testing him. The small boy did not feel insulted, no, more like intrigued. There was nothing he was letting on, he saw no need to hide his abilities so why did Vanity think otherwise. The heartless took a step back, stretching out his arm, the same one that was clawed. Curling his hands in and stretching them out before repeating himself, he beckoned at the darkness that was everywhere and in large amounts of access. His friends were easier to understand. They were purely instinctual and attacked where they were pointed towards and hearts shrouded in User Imagedarkness.

"I...don't fight."

He stated simply, stretching his other arm out behind him and opening a vortex of darkness that spun in random junctions. Just as he summoned the portal, the heartless that had come to his calling had emerged. Ryu had no doubt that Vanity, being a superior heartless, would have no trouble finishing this heartless off, but it was just a quick distraction to get out of there. Ryu did not soil his hands when others could do the work for him. The shape of the heartless begun to solidify and lo behold was Invisible. The heartless floated a few inches off of the ground, swiping it's sword to loosen it's muscles. Ryu, void of emotion now, headed towards the portal, having had enough.

Vanity admitfully was surprised to that the boy had summoned such a heartless. It wouldnt be to much trouble for him to take on but non the less it was more than he would have given him credit for. Vanity sweeped the bangs from his eyes as looked at the thing. Vanity whistled and a crow landed on his shoulder faithfully. "Follow him." Vanity whispered to his pet and without another second to spare it flew off into the poral after him. Vanity then turned his attention to his fellow heartless. He had never fought another heartless before but he was certainly prepared to do so. Vanity launched at it with his keyblade at the ready to swing with full force.

The invinsible blocked Vanity's blade and tossed him to the side. As Vanity flew down to the ground he landed on his feet and quickly leaped back at the Heartless. Only to realize that it was to soaring down at him. Their blades collided and made sparks. Vanity flew back down towords the earth but recoverd in enough time to catch himself.

Apparently this Heartless had some skill. He smiled softly as he enjoyed the fight. However it was time to finish this. Vanty flung his keyblade sending a large sum of crows to flock at the Invisible. The Heartless struggled to fight the crows off, Vanity used this to his distraction. Vanity launched at the Heartless with his blade extended outwords.

A loud 'CLASH!' sounded through the air as Vanity stabbed through the Heartless chest. Its blank eyes widend in pain. Before it could even cry out it exploded into a vortex of darkness.

Vanity fell to the ground satisfied with his skills. He didnt enjoy killing a fellow Heartless but he enjoyed the killing. He looked around the deserted graveyard and sighed. Wanting to no more time Vanity crows instantly flocked onto him and covered his body completely and seconds later they all flew off leaving nothing left of him.

Kalaslin was able to successfully open up her portal on the ground this time, grateful for not being pitched out of the sky. Unfortunately, she did not control just how much effort she projected into pushing herself out of the darkness. With a little shriek, she rolled out of the darkness portal, skidding across the ground a good distance before she finally lost he momentum to keep going. Panting heavily and not in the best of conditions, the pale faced girl sat up, pain shooting down her wrist, the very one she used to brace her fall. Dumb luck, it also happened to be the hand she used to grip her staff. Cringing into herself, she disregarded the fact that she had already entered another world, one in which her brother could still reside in. Painfully getting to her feet, Kally closed her eyes and tried to figure out if he was still around. It was faint but her brother had been here, gone a long time before she had gotten here.

Feeling glum, she opened her eyes, looking around, taking in the surroundings. Nothing felt out of the ordinary. Maybe a quick look through would do her some good. She was too weak to get out of here just yet anyhow and a breather did not sound unreasonable, so long as she stayed out of trouble.

Xilpolin arrived in the world through a corridor of darkness, which she had full control of. Being a nobody came with the perk of being able to transverse each world through the realm of darkness. Xilpolin was wearing the black hooded cloak, but the darkness of the place made her seem invisible unless you looked real close. Xilpolin kept her hood on as she walked around this haunting place, but she wasn't scared. She didn't even know how to feel scared anymore, but it didn't matter in the end. She still had the memory of how to act scared, but it was hard to mimic it now. "Let's see." Xilpolin tried to think of how to act scared again. "First i shiver, like I'm cold." She tried, but it still didn't feel right. "Maybe it's more like trembling. Yeah, that must be it." Xilpolin still felt like she was missing the point, but she was getting closer to how to act scared. While she was talking to herself about nothing, five wight knight heartless started to creep out of the darkness. Despite being quiet, Xilpolin still noticed them, and turned around to meet them. "Now what else. When your scared and meet a monster, what do you do next? Come on, i know this." She started to scratch her head and tried to ponder the answer. Two of the wight knights didn't bother to wait for her to finish her train of thought, and attacked. Without batting an eye, Xilpolins lances appeared and shielded her from their attack. "Now i remeber. When your scared and you meet a monster, you scream." Xilpolin summoned only one of her main lances to fight. Before she charged in, Xilpolin took in a deep breath and screamed at the top of her lungs. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" To be more accurate, it sounded more like a war cry, but the heartless seemed to be temporarily stunned at the loud yell. Xilpolin lifted up her lance while she was still screaming and brought her lance down to cut down the first heartless. The remaining four tried to flee, but Xilpolins four smaller lances pierced their chests to bind them where they stood. A quick swipe across the neck was enough to get rid of the rest.

Now that they were dealt with, Xilpolin was facing some more trouble. "Damn, that wasn't a scream at all. Wonder what i missed." She was still worrying about the fact that she didn't get her scream right, and ended up a yell instead. Even with her memories, Xilpolin still wasn't able to mimic each emotion perfectly. "Guess i still need practice." With a snap of her fingers, Xilpolins weapons disappeared. "No matter. I have all the time in the world." Xilpolin stood on top of a grave stone and looked up at the bright moon above, wishing that she had the emotion to appreciate it.
