Tattoo #1 (april '09: birthday gift) Place: Lucky Cat Tattoo, Long Island, Ny Tattooist: Dave

This was my first tattoo ever. It didn't hurt, which was surprising. It just felt like a shock lighter to the back of my neck for about 10 minutes.
My best friend, Robin, paid for the tattoo for me for my birthday. She said the whole time I was making funny faces lol.
The meaning behind the tattoo is this: When I was little, my grandma gave me a charm bracelet that had all these little french charms on it. We are not french. She got it to symbolize the fact that she wanted me to see the world and travel, starting with Europe. Obviously, being that I was little, it broke. The only charm to survive was a fluer de li (the symbol above). I wore it on a chain for many years around my neck until one day the clasp broke and I lost it forever. So to make the symbol more permanent, I had it tattooed on me to represent my grandma. She passed away few years ago so she never saw the tattoo but I like to think she would have appreciated it.
And since getting it, guys (mostly) think its a homage to the a New Orleans football team. no. lol

Tattoo #2 (March '10: Robin's late birthday) Place: Lucky Cat Tattoo, Long Island NY Tattooist: Dave

Story behind the tattoo: My best friend, Robin, and I have been friends for almost 10 years now and have only had one fight in that time. So we decided to get matching tattoos to commemorate this. I was put in charge of drawing something that meant something to us. Recently, I had drawn the above spade for her and thought that it would be a good tattoo for a few reasons, two of them being that we play texas hold 'em like there is no tomorrow and that we 'call a spade a spade' (old saying; im old lol). So I got mine on my wrist and she got hers on her hip (minus the lines on the bottom.) It is just a few days old now and is just healing up but I love it.
Interesting story: While in the tattoo shop, Robin got hers done first. While I was waiting, there was this guy who kept getting close to me and asking me all these questions like if I was a regular and how many tattoos I have, and just being creepy. He said he didn't have any tattoos nor was he getting any that day (why he was there in the first place I do not know because it seemed like none of the tattooists knew him). He also seemed very surprised that I was 20 going on 21 and not 16. So after Robin was done, I was up. At that time, my sister and her friend showed up. The guy tried hitting on my sister (whose 19) to no avail, ripped a** (farted) next to her and then bolted out of the shop. Angelo (the owner) gave me a cookie and said if the guy was in the parking lot, to come straight back into the shop, and he'd lock the door. Thankfully the creeper wasn't in the parking lot but it did make for a weird evening.
