Mekin smiled only slightly, “Yes. But, Seth is only part of the reason why I stay here...” She returned to the table and sat down. Seth licked Kawanii's fingers playfully. “There is much of my family's research which been passed down from generation to generation. It's only in my blood to continue such research. Especially when it's showing great success with each passing year.” Mekin didn't feel like getting into too much detail. "However, there will come time in which I will find a kin whom will inherit this place. Then, I may leave and continue constructing maps...” She paused for moment. “Until then, I'm somewhat stuck here. But, unexpectedly, I made good progress without moving so far. It even surprises Seth.” The dog barked playfully upon hearing his name being said. He licked Mekin's ankle and finished the rest of his meal. “Although, technically speaking, I am alone, but I don't feel alone. I guess my work keeps me distracted from such thoughts of loneliness and whatnot.” She gave a very faint smile. Mekin stood again to removed the pot from over the stove. “It's ready.” She fixed him a big bowl. If he were similar to her father, he must eat a lot from running around place to place. Mekin served his meal with some cold water. “You can check the drills whenever you feel like doing so.” Mekin joined him shortly. Seth was resting under the table.

“Seeking...” She repeated softly. She was a bit surprised by his sudden outburst. He seemed to be enjoying her food, “Well, thank you.” She never gotten such an reaction like his before. Mekin ate silently again before answering, “Well, what my ancestors been seeking is a extensive, fresh underground water source or sources. Enough so, that it can reform this area. My earliest ancestor, Saurian, called it project Eden. If it's found, the humans in this area can give back to the earth. Growing plantations and such. The fear is that, the water will be use recklessly or even controlled, horded by a powerful gangs and whatnot. Being the only massive freshwater source, it can easily be extorted by anyone of bad intent. However,” she took another bite of her stew, “I'm tired of seeing people suffering. Which is why, I started drilling smaller fresh water sources nearest to developing civilizations. Mostly as a test...” She stood from the table and went into the study. There were petite, metal cubicles carrying rolls of maps and files full of notes. They were dated, labeled and some even stamped. “Originally, my ancestors were merely map makers and journalist. From there, they became more involved in mining, along with the health of the planet and of its creatures.” She took out two maps. “This building, although found many years ago, was originally only two stories high. My family began adding floors. Eventually, we became divided. There is the mechanist/builders, miners, and explorers group. The others being astrologist, map makers, and writers. Mostly journalist than anything else. My family formed different stations in different continents. Each place having their own challenges. My area's challenge being the lack of fresh water, massive gang wars, and bandits. There's no one willing to enforce laws. Mostly because this form of government, that is currently in place, is a very weak one.”

She returned to the table and opened the two maps, "Three years ago...” She pointed at five cities. “I found a fresh, underground water source for these cities.” She pointed at the other map, “This one is very recent; an reflection of the cities' progress.” To be noticed were three cities circled in red. “The ones circled in red, have failed. They were unable to control thieves and regulate gang wars. The citizens were placed in a very fearful position. While under the control of this particular gang, they extorted the water and it simply dried out. Once their resources were gone, the gang abandoned the city to worsen.” Mekin frowned. “The ones not circled...” She took a moment to drink some water, “Managed to build a strong protective force. Their people became educated in water conservation and recycling. They learned to not only take, but to also give. Their current government is a direct democracy. Thus, making it nearly impossible for bandits to take control and gang wars to erupt. Everyone is closely together due the conditions of their government. Especially with safety.” She sighed, “But, what bothers me the most is that only two of five cities managed to survive and were willing to learn. The odds are still too low. In my opinion that is.” Mekin finished her meal and water. "This something I usually wouldn't tell anyone for obvious reasons." She was expressionless.

“Mellow Springs is not a city in which I'm studying because it is just an offspring of one of the major cities. Their irrigation system connects with that of the mother city. Think of it as a colony. Also, Mellow Springs, is fairly new. I've heard new of their success. I never said renew the world, only most of this continent. It will be impossible for it to save the entire earth. But, it's just our way of providing some hope. Our most important objective is to move people into creating their own Eden instead of waiting to die and doing nothing to earn it, as you stated before. An Representative Democracy runs a higher risk of corruption than an Direct Democracy, speaking from recent studies. Either way, every form of government will have their faults. The trick has always been to choose which has the least faults and the most benefits. If it's an option. There will always be corrupt people, but with education and good instinct, such a threat can be easily avoided; in some cases, fought against. Sadly, most of the worlds literature been destroyed many years ago and educators are lacking. Though, I'm glad to see many new writers surfacing little by little during the last two years. Yes, even when these main cities are successful, I know they do make it difficult for outsiders to obtain water by overpricing it. This is understandable and it is one of my concerns. However, all I do is drill and observe. However they use their water depends on them. Still, I'm impressed with their progress. I have another updated map, this map only notes the cities in which I'm studying, nothing more. There are thousands of maps created here and stored here for many reasons, of course. My family are very activate people. There are times when my brother will visit. Though, I see him once every two to three years.” She sighed again.

♠ ♣ ♥ ♦

Seth began lightly chewing on Mekin's combat boot. “I highly doubt there's an Eden out there. Maybe in the afterlife. But, I feel the only way there will be an Eden is if humans take the time to help create one.” She gave him a faint smile. “Hmm, there is some greenery further north. However, Leonardo is a farmer and breaks his back to keep that land fertile. Even in such harsh conditions. Maybe the climate of the north changed somewhat compared to the south. It's been awhile since I've traveled up north willingly.” She playfully wiggled her foot. Seth made a soft, friendly growl. "Yeah, it's a nice dream. Do you...dream often?” Mekin crossed her legs. She didn't really dream. Her mind was always blank when she slept. Then again, she trained herself to be a light sleeper. “How often do you dream?” The closest thing to dreaming that Mekin ever got is being lost in her thoughts; reviewing many theories and rumors.

"Yes, everything arrived on time." There was a small pause. "No the movers did not steal or break anything." Another pause was made as the young woman waited for the person on the opposite side of the receiver to finish. "It went well. Everything arrived without as much as a scratch. The home has been repainted and polished as if it were brand new. I have tipped them for the generous services. I do believe I have answered all of your questions, Luke." As the lady waited for the man to finish his ramble she took her time to examine her new home for the millionth time that morning.

It still smelled of fresh paint and wood floor polish. In her spacious living room her furniture and other decor were laid out to her mother's specifications. Though the protective wrapping had yet to be removed. Her short white heels clapped against the hard wood floors as she made her way to the kitchen. She passed a hallway mirror and stopped to access her look on this sunny morning. She had been up since dawn, monitoring the men downstairs as they pieced together the new interior of her new house. Her face showed no signs of her early rise. Her vivid icy gaze was as fierce as ever even though she wished she could tone it down a bit. A white hair band with a delicate aqua colored bow kept her hair back. Then her hair cascaded in chocolate waved onto her shoulders.

"Ms. Aleece?"

"Yes Luke. I apologize for my delay, I got distracted."

"Of course." A hard robotic voice spoke through her small phone. "I will relay the message of your safe arrival to your parents. Do you have any other comments you wish to pass on."

"Tell them thanks and congratulate my brother once more, that is all. Thank you Luke."

"You're Welcome, My Lady. Farewell."

Her dainty hands flipped the phone and quickly ended the call. She examined her manicure for a moment and continued on her own personal tour of her home. Or should she say her father's home. Seeing as it was his when he was still young. But that is a history lesson for another time. Aleece stepped into her kitchen and noticed her barren cupboards and fridge.

"I need some groceries." She mused to herself quietly. She turned on her heels and grabbed her pocket book. It contains her car keys and a few credit cards her loving parents had thrust upon her. With some difficulty her white heels walked down the cobble stone path that led to her silver Miata. Before she started the car she looked at a small map that Luke had gotten her so she wouldn't find herself getting lost in her new habitat. After memorizing the way to the market she sped off.

Gah… what is that light? My eyes fluttered open, the light seeping through my cracked-open eyelids. Morning already? It seems like I just fell asleep… I sat up in the center of the town square, which is where I had picked to fall asleep, rubbing my eyes. I was usually a morning person, because it meant that I’d lived to see another day. Today, not only did I live to see another day, I lived to see a brand new year. So why wasn’t I chipper and happy?

I took my old, ratty blanket and pulled it over myself, lying back down on the ground, trying desperately to fall asleep. The sun wouldn’t allow me to even try, as it seemed to glow ever brighter against the insides of my eyelids when I did. Giving up, I decided to do my morning routine, which was to bathe in the river and have my breakfast someplace scenic, but not dirty, like the vineyard or the orchard. I had some bread, cheese and grapes in my satchel that I’d pilfered the day before, and I intended on making it last, so I’d only be able to have some of it, but it worked. It was also more than I usually had. Maybe that was a good omen of what was to come. Starting off the year with a satchel full of food… that’s a good sign.

The best part was, I had a bottle of whiskey that would last me a good few days. That is, unless I was greedy and decided to go overboard, which I usually did. But it was so good that I could never hold onto it! I chuckled at this thought and stood up, stuffing my blanket into my bag, but making sure not to harm the food. Ugh, but the river is so far away, I thought sullenly, and I don’t wanna walk... Maybe if I didn‘t bathe, just for today… no. That‘s out of the question.

I began walking down the street… no, more like dragging my lazy, sandal-clad feet. I ran a hand through my messy hair. Today’s gonna be a long day…

Ada groaned as she got out of her bed later into the evening time. She hadn’t realized she’d been asleep for so long. Its so rare that she does sleep this late that she forgot what year and date she was in. She sat up in her soft plush bed and pushed off her spring covers, revealing Ada in her pajama tank and matching shorts. Living alone means that she could sleep in and do as she pleased because there was no one to wake her or cook for (Even if she could cook for others.) As she got out of her bed she yawned and stretched and went to the bathroom for her morning routine of brushing her teeth and hair and using the bathroom if she had to.

She was off from her job today, which is rare because the candy shop is open almost everyday except holidays. Lucky for her that today was a holiday. The place barely has enough workers and she stuck working with a lot of things in the shop especially when the boss isn’t around. After she came out of the bathroom she decided that she wanted to go to the celebration for the new year. Although she was going to be alone, she wasn’t afraid to go and was more then likely to make friends while at the celebration. She put on her favorite pink top and a brown jean skirt, with a red belt and decided to just leave that way. She looked at her clock and saw that it was already past 4 pm so she ran out her studio after slipping on a pair of sandals and walked her way down to the town square. Today she was sure she would meet and greet as much people as possible.

“David”, he said in a harsh whisper, looming over the huddled mass of roommate curled up on his couch. “David”, repeated the man once more. This time with a little more authority. Will sighed as he leaned even closer. “Da-”, a pale hand shot out to clamp firmly on his mouth, effectively stifling the words.
A pair of sharp blue eyes pinpointed his own from the darkness of the oversized blanket.
“Haaa”, breathed the tired man, a cross between a sigh and a warning. Dropping the hand David shimmied out of his blankets, weakly standing up on legs still used to sleep. He lurched forward a bit quickly spelling out his friend’s sign-name, ‘Faust’ he signed. Briefly he paused before adding to it, ‘water’.
Once again Will sighed, ruffling David’s hair before responding, “We’ll stop by somewhere, so get a sweatshirt on or something. Kay?”
David nodded dully as he shuffled over to a pile of slightly mussed clothing, not /his/ clothing, but still clothing all the same. Dully he grasped a sweatshirt and pulled it over his arms. It was large, even for it’s actual owner, the bright yellow fabric practically swallowed alive the smaller man’s frame.
Will bit his cheek to stifle laughter . He choked out, “Alright then, ready?”
The mute nodded with a sullen expression, absentmindedly pushing his disheveled bangs up as he ambled towards the stairs.

David plodded down the stairs at an agonizing pace, stopping every three steps or so to yawn stretch his arms wide above his head. If he was going to go, it would be of his own volition. His mind yelled at him to go back to sleep, he would have more than happily obliged if it had not been for his noisy flat mate. It was clear that dream would never be accomplished. Well, might as well make the best of it. It’s not like he absolutely hated going out or anything.
It wasn’t less than fifteen minutes by the time Will joined him downstairs, actively fiddling with the new lens he had gotten just days before. “Look at this lovely glass, isn’t she just brilliant?” He held it up so it caught the light just enough to shine, his grin seemed to share the luminosity.
Unfortunately, David did not quite hold it in the same regard. He crossed his arms, intent on remaining silent as he gave his roommate the most apathetic of glances. Finally he lifted his hands, ‘L-O-V-E-L-Y’ he manually spelled out, though his face remained staid.
“Alright, alright. Don’t patronize me now, we can go.”, David gave a small smile as he reached for the scarf pinned to the wall, he wrapped it firmly around his neck.

He could see his breath in the frigid new-spring air. Purposefully he sighed out, the heated air warming his already cool fingers. It was ineffectual, he decided, as he finally simply just clinched the bright fabric of his hoodie. “Cold?”, asked Will in a somewhat unadorned tone.
David considered signing ‘Così e così’, but decided such a simple statement warranted nothing but a small hand movement. He lifted a hand, his palm shifting left and right horizontally in a ‘so-so’ gesture. The photographer tutted but followed it up with a somewhat useful, “It’ll get warmer later into the day.”
Soon the conversation shifted back into comfortable silence as the two friends walked leisurely towards the town's square.

Action Romance [Caleb] *PM rp; here is plot link by Rainbow Aigeann.

Caleb stayed with her, quelling his rising urgency, content to hold her and watch as her breath steadied into it's sleeping rhythm. But when ten minuets past, he reluctantly hauled himself out of bed, taking great pains to not jostle anything. When another fifteen minuets had passed, he was dressed in his black jacket, pants, few accessories, and was running beyond the outskirts of town - which was a far away as he could bear to stray from Horizon. It didn't take long to fill his need, his body automatically leading him, obtaining and storing fuel as he traveled, benefiting greatest when he managed to feed on quite a few stray humans and - in deserted vegetation - animals. Wiping the bit of mess left on his lips, and straightening out his, his mind was settled now, but overflowing with worry.

He cursed himself as he reran through earlier events, thoughts, and emotions. Returning to hunt, get fresh air , alone, had definitely been a needed wake up call. Caleb knew his earlier "hatred" was aimed wrong, it was stupid to blame something who he didn't even know existed. And still, even if he had managed to kill Horizon, it probably wouldn't have stopped the dreams if not just turned them more gruesome as his visions would focus and broaden on the war. The impending war. And both he and Horizon were stuck in the middle, with him on the wrong side by his own choosing.

More prompting were all the side notes he had compiled over these past couple of days. About her growing powers, the visions, their future allies and enemies. And them personally.

The one's he should have dealt with when they arrived instead of risking something just for her sake of happiness! Caleb groaned, frustrated with himself. No matter what, he knew he'd keep doing this again and again if given the choice. Whatever control she had over him, they couldn't manage it. And at times like this, it seemed utterly against them.

He shook his head. He'd have to force himself to do this, and soon. But first Caleb would actually have to get back to Horizon's trailer and sort out his new thoughts with her before she woke up.
Rising from the stump he had unconsciously settled on for the last half hour in the forest, he raced back home.

World's End (Yaoi) [Haru]

His curiosity got the best of him. Again.

The young male was perched on a high branch of a tree, taking in his surroundings. Positioned just high enough where the slight breeze ruffled his hair, but still being able to see a few meters out without being blinded by the thick canopy. At the moment though, he wasn’t landscaping. Haru was momentarily entranced by an either brave animal or…one of the few beings he should be especially wary of.

Either sun-kissed or shadowed over – even in his memory – he had no recollection of seeing any sign of anything quite so big as the beast before him. He had been careful to pay attention to tracks mostly; from time to time he walked upon a few breeding areas and evidence of past meals. Long lost human tracks and bird business were the two mainly overwhelming things in this area, among other things.

He sighed, cursing silently as he watched the wolf lap up the water only a few yards away from where he had washed down. His human smell masked by the water natural and familiar scent of the woods and the fact that the breeze was blowing downwind of the creature was his only thing to thank. The fact that the human world in general hadn’t bothered to at least observe their “enemy” adequately disturbed him on more than one level. True, it left the few people like Haru in the dark about what to specifically look for. All he could do was follow what he knew of their closest animal relatives – on the risk that they would be nothing alike, he’d still be safe from them at least. But it was also a sign at how above they thought themselves about the “half-breeds” and how the fear had already gripped the human race.

His eyes were half-closed, coming curiously open and training their violet gaze on the beautiful wolf. It was a rare sight for him. Haru had only witnessed a handful or two of them. And for some reason – he couldn’t be quite sure – this one seemed different. But with nothing much to truly compare it to…his feet met the ground with a barely-audible thud.
He was good with animals most of the time – maybe to the point of being a bit cocky. In his hand was a small piece of rabbit meat. If the wolf tried to eat him instead, he’d just scramble up the tree and split. The distance between them was enough for a quick escape with his agility.

'I think…'

"Hey boy." He cooed, a smile like honey curved his soft lips. He tempted the wolf with his outstreched hand and beckoned him to him, the rabbit in the other hand. "You hungry?"

Darthmouth Romance (Private RP) [Blake] *Thread I, cont. in another due to spammers.

Blake traced the stars in the sky with smoky patterns, whirling his cigarette between his index and middle finger. His left hand behind his head and his ankles crossed, he lay in the surprisingly comfortable, green, cushioned bench outside of his friends huge party house. At least, tonight's party house that is. Locations tended to change for this particular guys' parties. As the music inside blasted louder inside at the party, Blake turned up the volume on his ipod to drown out the sound. He rolled his eyes and sighed, burning out his cigarette and closing his eyes.

Why did I even come here…?

Wearily, Blake backtracked in his head to earlier this morning.

Thomas and a few of his friends had found and basically cornered him outside his house door while he was headed out to school that morning. Only a few weeks ago the semester had started and Thomas had arrived a few days late as an scholarshiped exchange student from England. Blake, having been quickly nominated for high standing position in class as well as various clubs, had been assigned to show him around. As a result Thomas became dependant on him. It was alright at first, because he was an amiable person, but then he had started ambushing him with his "dark" side, as Blake called it. Thomas was a pretty out there guy, but a shy starter. When he became a lot more imposing, it was unexpected and after a while irritating. Including, random calls at odd from weird people (mainly women) times for events of no importance to him; for example his "birthday"…tonight...near midnight which just so happened to have a lot of "carefree" people attending. All of whom probably 2% new it was they guys b-day, knew he was the host, or new him period.

After having stayed by Thomas for about fifteen minuets, he had feigned interest in someone and managed to escape outside where the other few sane people were.

Really, at age of eighteen and a young sophomore medical student, all the movies about a wild college life had remained that for the most part. Now, apparently everything was about to change. Grunting out of frustration, he let out a quite string of curses. Closing his light blue eyes, and brushing a hand through his dyed, ruffled, hair, Blake sat up.

He eyed the fence on the other side of the house. It was about eight feet tall and lead to a familiar alley way he could take to his house. All he had to do now was wait for it to be fairly deserted, not be caught up by any incoming guests, and then jump it.

A lazy yawn drew past those darkened lips, violet eyes coming to a close as she lifted a slender hand to cover her gaping mouth. Her silver bracelets gave a jingle to the movement, falling silent as her hand returned to her lap. Today was a slow day, not a single new follower had managed to break through. Often she found herself waiting at the Pool of Dead, leaning drearily against the cold stone edge of the pool, bored out of her mind. She needed more followers… She needed to be better than Life. Everything was a contest to her when it came to Life. She wouldn’t lose, it was childish rivalry, but it kept her sane in the Immortal Plane. Naturally Ruri was aggressive and craved to fight, argue, and d**k measure, life hadn’t been around lately though… So that was out of the question. A slender hand lifted to grab the silver tip of a black and silver splotched hose connected to a large opaque hookah. The silver tip connected with her lips, air slowly sucked in causing the water in the bottom bowl to bubble, smoke slowly filling the air space inside the bowl. Her chest lifted as she inhaled, her lungs filling with smoke. A pleasant taste of honey and vanilla filled her mouth and spread across her tongue, such a delightful taste... Most definitely her favorite, far more than pineapple and banana. Her lips puckered, smoke slowly streaming out, the sweet scent pooling in the air.

Upon bulging crimson pillows, she laid spread, her chin cradled upon the back of her hand which remained propped up on a pillow supporting her back. Her long legs crossed as they stretched across multiple cushions, her foot bobbing to an inaudible beat. Behind her, curtains drizzled, curtaining her actions from behind and at a couple different angles, yet head on she was open to all those entering the Central Wing. The curtains glittered in the natural light bursting in from the skylight, stained glass leaving patters around the small seating area. She couldn’t believe she was actually beginning to miss the chaos on the mortal plane! It was nice being in a paradise, doomed to relax forever, but this woman craved excitement, it was in her blood. Chimes sang as the wind blew, the curtains fluttering behind her as a gust made its presence known, quickly fading like the sigh that rolled from the dark Goddess. As the chimes finished their song, the birds had begun theirs, sharing melodies with the others who soon answered with their own version of the song.

The relaxing atmosphere would soon be compromised by a storming Water god, very well aware of what spiked such a fury within a close friend. The hose's tip came to her lips once more, slipping between the soft skin as she sucked in another roll of smoke through to her lungs, chest lifting steadily as she savored the flavor. A brow ticked, the metal mouth piece pulled and set upon her lap as another roll of smoke blew out in a steady white cloud. She could feel the fury pouring from the Water god, it was an easy mood killer.

"What do you plan to do?" The goddess's voice was as smooth, comforting, seductive, and as slow as syrup being poured over a hot, fresh batch of flapjacks. It curled over ears and lapped at them in only the most pleasant way. She was lucky to have such an appealing voice, it made the frantic dead cooperate so much better. The discoving you're dead doesn't always sit with most.
