Hiei shivered in the rags that were once his clothing. The injuries he had been dealt with were aching painfully in this cold dungeon like room. He tried to ignore the emptiness he felt. He couldn't feel Kurama's aura, he couldn't sense the fox demon's energy. He barely had any energy himself. He was weak with hunger, thirst and need of medical attention. He felt his body slipping into another fitful sleep. One from which he was sure he'd been woken from with force....

((I shall play as Kurama. Before I do my intro, where is the fox supposed to be? What surrounds the place in which Hiei is kept? I have to know at least those things in order to role-play properly.))

(Description: It's a large mansion, one in which the wills of humans and demons turned human are broken and rebuilt into that desirable of a slave. There are a large number of demons guarding the building, it's lovely outside betrays the dark deeds inside, only the withered roses would show any sign of unhappiness. Hiei is in the basement locked in one of it's many rooms with only the bare minimium of requirements met to keep them alive. Hiei himself is near enough to death at the moment that he should be barely detectable, even to Kurama. Because it is in the (And I know I'm going to spell it wrong so I'm just going to use the basic term.) demon realm. Kurama I would suspect to be right outside anticipating a moment when he can make his move. He does not currently know that Hiei is human, only that this is to recover Hiei if at all possible.

The fox lay hidden in the greenery that surrounded the mansion, a safe enough distance from the guards. It would be simple to fight them and get into the building, but he did not want to risk alerting the others who protected the place. Wasting energy to fight them would be pointless, unless he wanted to not be able to save the male koorime. The red-head was not fully sure that Hiei even was there, but something told him that he was. That something wasn't quite his demonic senses, either, since his energy signature was nowhere to be found. The kitsune merely assumed that it had been hidden by those who captured him, or he had been warded. The boy had thought of just trying to sneak into the place, like he would have as Youko, but he had decided that would be too risky. He hardly trusted this newer body to be stealthy enough. It was his hope that the fire apparition hadn't been harmed, but he knew better than that, really. This was why he brought with him a few additional plants, most with healing properties.

"Let us inspect number one twenty eight today to see if he's ready to go on the market." One of the men just inside the door commented. "Surely his will's been broken down enough by now."
"Yes, supposidly it has.... I'll have him be brought up right away sir." One of the others commented.
It took a few minutes before Hiei was retrieved from the basement, he was exhausted, hungry and most of all had a haunted look about himself, it was almost like he had died inside. "Are you going to obey us today, slave? Or will you have to be sent back to your cell?" The head of the operations questioned.
Hiei looked at the floor. "Now, I want you on the floor, kneeling."
Hiei obeyed without question, before he felt the other's whisper in his ear. "Now how do we greet our owners? "With obediance." Hiei responded, his voice as hollow as he looked.

Once the chance arose, the kitsune lept from his place of hiding, landing behind the guards near-silently. In one quick, graceful movement, he cut through them, the weapon being his Rose Whip, all of which being dead before they could even scream. He didn't see why to even bother sparing them, so naturally, he didn't. They would've been nothing but trouble, no doubt, and he didn't need to fight- quick deaths were more his style for the time being. The fox was by no means in a good mood; he worried greatly about the fire apparition. Was he even alive, still? It had taken a long time to get here to rescue him. These thoughts were pushed aside, them not being relevant to the little mission. He didn't need emotions slowing him down. It was no trouble getting into the mansion, the skills from his past life easily dealt with that. All that would truely have to be done, now, was locate the koorime. All other things would be dealt with at a later time, except the killing of those who dared to get in his way. The red-head wandered though the building, being careful to not alert anyone of his presence. The only point of being here was to save Hiei.

"So, I'm allowed to do you harm without any resistance?" The leader questioned.
"Hai." Hiei responded.
He felt feet connecting with his ribs, the force both knocked the wind out of him and sent him about two feet from where he had been kneeling. "We shall test this theory and see whether what you said is true."
Hiei fought back the tears at first, but soon, both cheeks shone with the clear warm liquid. It was when he could barely move that Hiei said the one thing that would infuriate the man like no other words could... "Ku- Kur-ama...." It was barely audible to his own ears, but saying it filled him with such hope, he couldn't help it.
Hiei was thrown across the room and into a wall for saying it. That time he truely felt it, how fragile his body had become. "I'm.... Going to.... To die.... please.... Rama...."

The fox navigated the mansion best he could, not having a map or anything of that sort. Oddly, though, he seemed to know where Hiei was, at least subconsciously. His feet guided him to a specific door, this appearing to be the one he thought the koorime was inside. The red-head could hear voices, some he was sure weren't Hiei's, so he didn't just walk in. One sounded like his, but it seemed to be... tainted, to put it simply. It wasn't like it normally was. This worried him; what could have happened to cause this? The door itself was thick, as were the walls, so he couldn't hear much of anything. Shortly later, a loud sound was heard. He assumed that some sort of fight might be going on. The kitsune felt as if he had to be in their to help. To help with what? He wasn't sure. Many things that involved the fire apparition were somewhat instinctive, for him.
Kurama lashed the whip that was still in his hand multiple times, it reducing the entrance to mere rubble. If there was a lock on it, he didn't care. The sight that came before his eyes was... there wasn't even a proper word for it. So many various emotions ran through him. He had expected Hiei to be in poor condition, but nothing like this. Maybe a few cuts, nothing more. It was doubtful that anything could have prepared him for this. It was horrible seeing him like this, really, especially for the fox. The youkai usually had a whole different attitude, a confident, rather cynical one, but now he seemed broken. Tears ran down his face; this alone was an indicator of the extent of which the torture he must have gone through was like. The clothes he wore were tattered and dirty. His energy was almost non-existant, and there were no wards to be seen. Through these thoughts, he strangely managed to notice his tears, what they were like. They were normal human tears. He had expected some sort of crystalizing tears, maybe like Yukina's. Something told him this could have significance, but he dismissed that thought.
Yet, for some reason, no emotion was shown on Kurama's face. Usually he hid his feelings, yes, but this was a time when even he would let that mask go. Maybe he was just trying to look strong for his partner; the fire demon did seem to need hope. Those others, who seemed to find this torture almost like a sport, would die. That was a given, definitely. The kitsune would give them the first move, just as a little test. They weren't weak, that much was obvious, so just blindly running into a fight would be stupid and pointless, and perhaps even get him killed. Words weren't necessary, now. He didn't trust his lips to say what he may have wanted them to, anyway. What he would say would surely betray the mask he had so firmly been holding onto.
((Tell me if you think I'm babbling too much. I tend to do that, unfortunately. This got a hold of my slightly more creative side.))

(No, you're not, I'm a fast reader. And not many provide me with so much to go with.) Hiei couldn't stop crying, he couldn't open his eyes, he didn't want to see what further punishments saying the demon's name had caused. He didn't want to see, nor did he have enough hope to believe the other would come. How many times had he said that? How many times had he repeated the name to himself? Only to become dissappointed when it was another day of torture and depression? He winced when something wet and warm hit his face, he instinctively curled up into a defensive ball. He didn't see what was going on... One had probably tried to turn on the leader. He could turn anything into a bomb. (Yes, stealing the idea from Full Metal Alchemist, but don't care.)

Kurama occasionally glanced at Hiei, now, but tried to keep his eyes on the one who was the leader of this group. Really, he didn't even want to look at the koorime... just the sight of him was depressing, it made him feel sympathy, something he almost never did. The red-head wanted to comfort him, to make him happy, or at least feel cared about. It hurt seeing the boy like this, he truely was the one he cared for most, though that was something he wouldn't likely admit. He noticed that the fire demon hadn't even acknowledged his presence and found that odd, but he wouldn't mention that, simply because it wasn't a necessary thing in his eyes. All that mattered now was that the ones who had harmed him died, and that Hiei would be okay. He had expected the leader or one of the others to fight him, but they hadn't, yet. Maybe they planned to try a surprise attack? That'd prove to be a useless move, but would work in the kitsune's favor. In that case, he'd be able to use their own trick on them. Right now, he was only trying to predict their tactics beforehand, and to keep his mind off of his partner. Kurama opened his mouth to speak to the leader, to inform him of his intention to fight, but all he said was, "Hiei," in a soft voice, though it was loud enough to be heard by him. This was what he had been trying to keep from doing, but it wasn't something he could help. Sometimes things he did weren't planned out, and this often took place when he was either around the fire apparition, or for some reason his emotions were getting the best of him. It did seem like the right thing to do, though, in a way. If he was correct, he had said the fox's name. Even though he was distracted, he'd be able to fight if need be. He hadn't taken his eyes off the leader completely even once. The boy wasn't about to be caught off guard.
((Well, I'm glad it's acceptable. Also, that bomb thing reminded me more of Karasu than of Full Metal Alchemist. That's probably because I'm a fangirl of him, though.))

The demon glared at the the other with vile temper, he touched one of his minions, before shoving the lesser demon at Kurama himself. Luckily for the fighter, the living bomb exploded before it was close enough to him. "So, we have eyes on stealing me of my merchandise, do we?" He questioned, watching the demon before him.
Hiei had glanced up at the sound of his name, he noticed Kurama, he understood that the best he could do was stay out of the other's way, as he was there was nothing he could do.

Merchandise? Hiei was not something to be sold. He wasn't something a price could even be put on, as far as the red-head was concerned. The idea of stealing him back was slightly interesting, though; it reminded him of his past. "I'm afraid he was never yours to sell, so naturally it won't be thievery on my part," he said, his voice showing no emotion. The fox had thought carefully before he spoke, so nothing more would slip. His intention was, more or less, to put the leader in a sort of blind rage, one that would make it easier to kill him. The ability to create bombs like that was not a weak power, as he had learned in his fight with Karasu. He didn't need to take stupid chances. At least now he had an idea of what class he was in, that would be helpful. This knowledge ould tell him what method of fighting would be most effective. Simply rushing into this fight would obviously get him and the koorime killed, so that was not an option. He'd have to try to play mind games, as well as use force. This was a more smart approach when it came to stronger demons. The fox made sure to look unphased by the living weapon, indicating that fear tactics would not have any effect. He now lashed his Rose Whip at him, but purposely missed by a mere few inches. This was another test, one of his speed. Before he would fight, he would know what he was up against. The kitsune didn't want to be caught off guard.

Hiei couldn't seem to face the other at all, he watched the ground carefully. The leader had dodged the whip, even though he wasn't anywhere near it. He wasn't as quick as Hiei, that much was sure, but quick enough to get away. Hiei followed his movements out of habit.

The demon wasn't overly fast; that was a good thing. It gave the fox more of a chance to surprise him, and that might well lead to his defeat. In this fight, chances wouldn't be taken unless absolutely necessary to ensure that the koorime would be safe. All that mattered is that he was safe; the kitsune didn't care about himself, now. He felt guilty more than anything that Hiei had been let to go through all of this, that he hadn't come to rescue him sooner. The fox blamed himself, so he felt worthless. Anything involving the fire apparition caused seemingly exaggerated emotions, so he had to be careful around him, and that got difficult. Within seconds of the test, the red-head once again used his whip, but this time in a sweeping motion, one that would be more precise and considerably harder to dodge. If it hit in the way it had been meant to, the attack would no doubt be fatal, but surely the leader would dodge, probably coming out of the attack with no more than a scratch. Still, he wasn't using his full strength. That would be saved unless it was completely needed. For now, regardless of how angry he was, Kurama would just use minimal energy. It would be pointless and humiliating to defeat the leader, then get killed by his much less strong guards.
